Our home is a 3 bedroom, 1 bath newly remodeled ranch style home with an oversized private patio and hot tub. The kitchen features new walnut cabinets and marmoleum flooring while the bathroom boasts brand new double sinks and a large tile walk in shower. There is original oak hardwood flooring in all the main living spaces and a cork hearth providing the perfect fireside sitting area. We've decorated using a mix of art created by friends and family and put the finishing touches on the walls by hanging paintings and photography by Devon.

You can expect a clean and modern environment stocked with all the comforts you'd find at home such as a fully furnished kitchen, books, board games, a desktop computer workstation with internet, wireless internet throughout the house, a 50 inch plasma TV complete with Netflix and Hulu Plus, and two eight foot long couches perfect for lounging around on a lazy day, or accommodating the whole group for some time by the fire or in front of the TV. We use environmentally friendly cleaning supplies and treat you to organic, locally made DANI products in the bathroom and shower.
We're located in the neighborhood called “Center”, right between Pilot Butte and downtown making it less than a mile from Deschutes Brewery and a short 10 minute walk to the base of Pilot Butte, a cinder cone which rises nearly 500 feet above Bend giving you a panoramic view of the high desert and the cascades from the top...awesome at sunset!
A 2-4 block walk will get you to Croutons, Rockin Dave's Bagel Bistro, Laughing Planet, Dutch Bros, Pilot Butte Drive-In, Platypus Pub, Juniper Park Swim & Fitness Center, Hawthorne Bus Station or any one of several neighborhood grocery stores. There is also a bus stop at the end of our block.
The large city lot our home is located on offers a fully enclosed, pet-friendly backyard with privacy to enjoy the back patio, firepit, barbecue and hot tub. We've implemented water-wise landscaping, added a new driveway accommodating up to 3 cars, and installed a key less entry system with unique access codes for each group, for your security and convenience.

PARKING Please respect our neighbors and utilize the driveway in front of the home for parking.
PETS Are permitted only with prior approval. All pets must be leashed or supervised at all times. Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up any/all pet refuse on the premises, including the front and backyards. All pet refuse must be deposited into the outside garbage bin located in the back shed. There are 2 white sheets and old towels provided in the hall linen closet for covering furniture, beds, etc. Please use them to minimize pet hair, wet feet, etc. Any evidence of pets on furniture may incur extra cleaning fees. All pets must be up to date on rabies vaccinations and all other vaccinations. Heartworm preventive is highly recommended. All pets are to be appropriately managed for fleas and ticks. All items above are the sole responsibility of the pet owner.
HOT TUB Use of the hot tub is at your own risk. Never leave children unattended in the vicinity of the hot tub. For sanitation purposes, please add 1 capful of bromine (found in the hot tub step) to hot tub water after each use. If the hot tub water appears to be foamy when the jets are on this is likely due to the aeration valves. To adjust or shut off the valves simply twist the two grey levers found on the rim of the hot tub. No pets or shoes are allowed in the hot tub. No beverage glasses are to be used while in the hot tub (plastic wine glasses and cups can be found in the kitchen to the left of the kitchen window). No candles (floating or any type) are allowed on or in the hot tub. Please do not add any products (soaps, oils, etc.) to the hot tub water. If these items are used, an additional cleaning fee will be assessed. DO NOT SIT or STAND ON HOT TUB COVER. It may break and you may be injured and/or charged for replacement. The hot tub must be covered and latched when not in use. White hot tub towels are available on the bottom two shelves in the bathroom.
BIKES 4 bikes and helmets are provided. Please ride safe and under control at all times. We are not responsible for injuries or damages resulting from bike use. Bike ride at your own risk and never leave the bikes unattended. Damaged or stolen equipment will be deducted from your deposit.
GARAGE Please use the garage for storage of all bikes, skis and other sporting equipment. You will find showshoes, rafts and other recreational items in the garage closet.
DEPARTURE Before you depart, it is much appreciated if you would:
•Start a load of dirty dishes in the dishwasher.
•Place all garbage, recycling, and pet waste from the yard, in the proper outside containers.
•Start one load of white towels and place all remaining dirty towels in the laundry room hamper.
•Strip sheets that have been used and leave them on top of the beds, we'll do the rest.
NO DAILY HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE While linens and bath towels are included in the home, daily housekeeping service is not included in the rental rate. We’ve provided beach towels in the hall closet for outdoor recreation as we do not permit white towels or linens to be taken offsite. White hot tub towels are available on the bottom two shelves in the bathroom.
WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS Exceptions of any kind to these policies must be approved in writing in advance.
THIS HOME IS PRIVATELY OWNED We are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illnesses that occur while on the premises or its facilities. We are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guests. By accepting your reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise.
This house was great! I cannot say enough good things.
It was a perfect base for adventures around Bend. It is well within walking distance of many breweries, and is only two blocks from the best breakfast and lunch cafe in Bend, Rockin Dave's. The house has a fully equipped kitchen, and plenty of space for hanging out eating lounging, and socializing. The outdoor fire pit was super nice, and the hot tub was wonderful after a long day of adventures. We took advantage of the fully equipped kitchen a few times, and found everything we needed.
Even though my family has a condo on the other side of Pilot Butte, I will be staying at this house the next time I visit Bend.
Our group of 4 met up in Bend for a conference at the Tower theater and found Matt & Devon's place to be the perfect mix of comfort and walking distance to the event. Each night we were able to hit a couple of great places for food and drinks on the walk back. Having 3 rooms with queen beds was really nice. The dining table and comfortable living room were perfect for our work & relaxation needs. Matt was very communicative during the process. We'd gladly stay here again.
The rental was fantastic and the hosts as accommodating and communicative as I would have wanted.
The house is well decorated and comfortable. The wireless speaker and roku on the television are a very nice touch. The kitchen is well equipped, but expect to grab your own spices as you need them. Three full bedrooms as described, and an open office with a fold out sofa that is at least usable. Two couches could easily hold another two very tall guests, if you have the need.
Hot tub was very comfortable after a long day skiing, and the shed provided plenty of storage space. Washer and dryer are large and well appreciated with winter clothing. Wireless worked without hiccup, and there were plenty of towels and firewood to go around.
Location wise, the place is right around town with plenty of spots in an easy walking distance and the entire town in a long walk or short cab ride away.
I'll definitely be looking the unit up again if I return to town.
This house was just as described and perfect for our New Years trip! The house is well designed and makes you feel at home.. Plus Matt & Devon put thought into every detail that made this the perfect stay. The location is great- we walked to the bagel bistro for breakfast (delicous!) and even hiked to the top of Pilot Butte a couple times. We will definitely choose this house again when we come back to bend.
The "k house" was great. After a few long days of snowboarding it was a great place to sit back and enjoy a fire and movies. Nice location and all the amenities you could think of. Highly recommend it to everyone.
We had an awesome stay at Matt and Devon's house. The location is great, quiet neighborhood within walking distance of downtown Bend. Accommodations are nice, we especially enjoyed the hot tub in the back yard. They even have four bikes in the garage for you to use. All in all a great place, we would definitely come here again!
We had a perfect stay at the K house! Thank you Matt and Devon! The house was clean, modern and cozy; highly accommodating for 3 couples. We enjoyed the hot tub, the fire and the well-equipped kitchen. The beer tasting was a very nice touch and the speakers were much appreciated! We will be back!
After living in Bend for 5 years (and loving it!) we were both drawn back to Portland, Oregon (our second favorite place to live) for new jobs. We wondered what to do with our newly remodeled home in Bend when we were introduced to airbnb. Its a great way to share our place with others since we can't be there to enjoy it full time.
