The Space

Beautiful, light filled, peaceful top floor 1200 sq foot condo in San Francisco's Lower Pacific Heights, walking distance to Divisadero & California street shops, Japantown, Laurel Village, Lower Fillmore District, UCSF Mount Zion campus, Sacramento street shops, Geary street business district, and Kaiser hospital. This is a comfortable, spiritual, Sufi home where there is no drinking or smoking, and where female guests are preferred. Please be aware you are renting a room in our home, not a hotel, and to that end, my husband and I welcome female guests who are willing to be respectful of our home, and in turn we will treat you with kindness and respect.

Your room is a private bedroom with 1 full sized bed, a closet, several built in bookshelves, a nightstand and a love seat. The room is about 120 square feet excluding the closet and bookshelf space. The condo has a well equipped kitchen with a gas stove, a front living room with a plasma TV and surround sound, a large back living room for dining and relaxing, and a single bathroom that would be shared when I am here. In the bathroom there is a shelf for your items, as well as plenty of extra toiletries for your use. You are welcome to use the kitchen while you are here, and there is space in the fridge and the panty for your food items.

The room is for your use only. We can discuss on a case by case basis exceptions to this rule, and any deviation from it would need to be pre-approved in writing. Please be aware that any violation of the policy on guests is grounds for immediate cancellation of the remainder of your stay.

My place is also home to 3 cats who would love it if you want to pet them! Most of the time I will be staying here in the second bedroom, but I am away for work during the day, and frequently out of the town on the weekends. If you prefer to have the place on your own, send me an email and I will let you know if I will be here or not. When I am in town, my small dog Zorra (11 pounds) also lives here. Once she warms up to you, she enjoys affection and playing tug of war.
Check in: The key to the unit is kept in a lockbox below the mailbox. Once your reservation is confirmed, email me a request for the combo to unlock the box. It is the same combo to remove and replace the front of the lockbox.
Transportation: Busses are easy to get to and close by. The Muni bus line has a stop heading towards Downtown/Union square a half a block away, the Geary bus line (runs east/west through the city) is 1.5 blocks away, and busses run north/south on Divisadero which is 2 blocks away. You can plan your bus trip by going to (website hidden). The closet BART station is City Center. You can take BART from the airport to that stop and then either catch a bus or a taxi to my house. A taxi directly to my house from the airport is about $50-60.
Parking: Street parking is available, but is limited to 2 hours during Monday-Friday 8am-6 pm, meaning you need to move your car after 2 hours to a new spot. Weekends and holidays are free. There is a parking garage about 2.5 blocks away on Bush street between Broderick and Divisadero (entrance on Bush St. only) that charges $10 for the day if you enter after noon, and $15 if you enter before noon.
Nearby: Divisadero street is 2 blocks east of my house, and you will find several restaurants, coffee shops including Starbucks, a Wells fargo, Yogaworks yoga studio all located between Post and California on Divisadero. A laundromat is located about 3 blocks away on Baker and Pine street. Trader Joes grocery store is about 6 blocks away. Driving from my house its about 10-15 minutes to union square, 15 minute to Chrissy Field, 10 minutes to chestnut and union street shops, and under 10 minutes to Sacramento, Geary, Fillmore and Japan town shops. Its an easy run to the presidio and a slightly longer run to Golden Gate Park, both of which are beautiful places to exercise! The neighborhood is safe for walking around even at night, and has a residential feel with the easy access of urban attractions.

  • I stayed at this confortable place for two month. It locates quiet area and convenient access for muni bus. I like her efficient kitchen (though no microwave oven). Kimberly is very kind and thoughtful. I want to stay here again when I go back to SF.

  • We had a great time in San Francisco and sure enjoyed the stay in Kimberly's home. She is a very helpful person, her home is cozy and it was nice to hang out there after long walks in the city. The apartment is very conveniently located!

  • Charming apartment. Very " San Francisco". Convenient location and very good access to public transportation.
We had the place mostly to ourselves, since Kimberly left for the weekend.
There is only one bathroom that we had to share with the owner. It did not bother us since we where alone, but it is something to be aware of.

  • From the moment that Kimberly accepted me and my husband as guests, she responded our emails very promptly and she also gave us several good tips and recommendations since we were new to the city. We had the chance to briefly meet her and her boyfriend the day we arrived which coincided with the departing time of two other guests. The room was ready for us, and she had given us indications on how to get there. Both were very friendly and Kimberly took some time to show us around the house and explaining some things about the city. The following day they left so we stayed on our own the following two days. The house was spotless, you would never guess there are two friendly cats and a dog there. It was also very well decorated with really nice messages hanging here and there, giving a really good vibe. You can tell she has an extreme attention to detail and really cares about guests having a good experience. The location is great, close to a bus that brings you downtown in 10-15min. I would recommend her place without a shadow of a doubt. Thank you for sharing your home!

  • Staying at Kimberly's was great. Kimberly (email hidden), very friendly, very welcoming and I really appreciated our conversations. We felt at home once we got there and enjoyed a whole week staying with her. The area, Pacific Heights, is really beautiful and Presidio Park just around the corner. Make sure you like cats because they definitely will like you!
I would stay at Kimberly's again, that's for sure!

  • The house itself is amazing and Kimberly (email hidden). We were on opposite schedules so unfortunately we didn't get to spend too much time together but she was very warm and accommodating, even leaving (email hidden) on our bed when we arrived after our long flight!

If you're a pet person, it's really nice making friends with the cats and dog as they're all super cute and friendly.

The neighbourhood is nice and within walking distance to fun bars & restaurants, as well as attractions and public transport.

All in all, a great stay!

  • Staying with Kimberly was absolutely wonderful! I immediately felt at home and remained comfortable and happy throughout my stay. Her home is in a great location, gorgeous, and spacious. Also, I particularly enjoyed the company of her animals! They were very, very sweet and great company. Kimberly is a generous, wonderful host, and it was a joy to stay with her.

  • Kimberly is a lovely, open-minded,vivid and reliable person. I really liked to stay with her. I felt very welcome and at home from the beginning. I enjoyed to hang out with her adorable pets. Her house and the room is very nice and cozy too. I also appreciated her well equiped kitchen. The house is perfectly located to explore San Francisco. Bus stops are near and it is a quiet neighbourhood. It's really worth to stay with Kimberly and her animal buddies.
