About this listing
Adorable, quiet and safe junior 1 bedroom in Georgetown's coveted East Village. My little place has been described as both "very European" and as "a tree house". It is a simple apartment, but it is home. I have used AirBnB as a guest under another moniker many times to rave reviews. Please write to find out more.
The Place: In and older Georgetown row house (high ceilings, wooden floors, natural light, vintage quirk). Living and kitchen space combined. Bathroom and bedroom with double bed are separate. I have dark-out curtains in the bedroom and great shower pressure.
Interaction with Guests
It depends on if I am away for a trip whether or not I will meet you.
Get to know locals Georgetown. My neighborhood consists of the lovely Rose Park (part of the Rock Creek Park system) with playgrounds, basketball and tennis courts, antique shops, and Stachowski Market, the best butcher and deli in DC. 7-11 is around the corner too and we are close to Trader Joes. If you are interested in coming here for museums, I am 15 minutes from the Phillips Collection. Oh, and yes I'm a very pretty 7-10 minutes from the world class shopping of M Street and Wisconsin Avenue.
I don't own a car! DC is a great walking city. I am 30 minutes from both the White House and Georgetown University and 20 minutes from the U Street Corridor and Adams Morgan. 15 minutes by foot to the Dupont Circle Metro (red line). 15 minute walk to Foggy Bottom metro (orange/blue line). 5 minutes to the closest bike share across from the Four Seasons hotel. There are buses galore. DC also has lots of credit-card friendly cabs and Lyft and Uber apps are widely used. Car2Go and Zip Car are also abundant. Unfortunately, I cannot help you with parking accommodations, but there is lots of free street parking.
Other Things to Note
Unfortunately, due to the age of our building, our place is not wheelchair or stroller friendly. I live on the second floor, but a relative with recent knee-surgery did fine getting themselves up the 15 or so steps that need to be climbed.
Please be honest and respectful. This is my home, so I am only looking for well-reviewed tenants. Please no smokers.
Jane's apartment was very clean and welcoming. She had fresh sheets on the bed and fresh towels laid out for us. She had made room in the refrigerator and the apartment was a perfect place to call home for the long weekend. The location could not be more perfect! Equal distant from the charming Georgetown shopping and eating distract and the great nightlife of DuPont Circle's bar district. We rented bikes and rode to the monuments which was a short 2 mile ride by the river. I would recommend Jane's apartment!
Jane's apartment was clean and central to a lot of restaurants and attractions in the neighborhood. She was very accommodating for us when we had to arrive late in the evening. I would definitely recommend the place for a weekend in the Georgetown area.
Jane made all the arrangements for coordinating arrival, keys drop off etc. The apt. is in an absolutely wonderful neighborhood with access to everything described. On a quiet street too.
Access to public transportation is indeed great and if you have a car you might want to consider letting Jane know in advance so that she might inform you about the options. If you find street parking as I did, you have to make sure that you move it during the day. Hey its DC!
Jane also checked in while I was there and that was helpful. Very friendly neighbors who helped with the sticky key.
Met my needs! Thanks for the treats Jane.
About the Host, Jane
This is my hosting moniker! I have used AirBnb multiple times as a guest in the US and Canada to rave reviews. I took a trip recently and thought "why not take the plunge and host?" If I host you then I will make sure that you have a pleasant experience while you are here and fond memories to keep with you upon your departure.
