Interaction with Guests
I greet all guests and show them around the apartment, answer questions, and make myself available throughout their stay. I live upstairs from apartment.
This neighborhood is full of life, restaurants, bars, coffee houses, bicycles, dogs, kids, and lots of trees. There are several amazing parks nearby, one with a year-round farmer's market, and ovens that bake bread and community meals every week. Also in walking distance is the hippest Ossington strip. A wonderful Portuguese bakery that sells eggs, milk and other essentials is 1.5 blocks away, as is a great breakfast place that opens at 6 AM.
One block from bus stop, one block from street car. A few blocks from subway, and cabs pass by less than a block away at all hours. Many restaurants and bars are one block away on College St.
No big noise, no smoking, no drugs. No using laundry after 11 PM. No guests of guests in apartment between 11 PM and 8 AM. Otherwise, please keep the doors locked, food wrapped and stored in the refrigerator, just basic common sense and consideration.
Please not that this is a smoke-free property, so no smoking on porch, driveway, etc.
Robin's place was great — quiet, cozy and close walking distance to public transit and an incredible amount of great restaurants and shops of every variety. We didn't really use the kitchen much, so I can't comment on the appliances and such, but they were all there and seemed to be in working order. And, yes, there was plenty of tea.
And Robin was fantastic. She gave us excellent directions on how to get from the airport to her place, and then greeted us upon arrival with a binder filled with maps, places to see and phone numbers for the area, so it made traveling around Toronto a breeze. She was also very helpful accommodating with our flight schedule.
If we ever make our way back to Toronto, Robin's will definitely be at the top of our list for places to stay.
Our stay at Robin's place in the Bickford Park area was very nice overall. It was nice to have a private entry and bathroom, and the furnishing included made for a great setup to plan a few days worth of Toronto adventures. The short walk to College St payed off as public transit is somewhat expensive for short-term visitors to the city.
The kitchen is nicely set up for cooking or preparing breakfasts, with a full size stove and refrigerator. The bed, while being Ikea, was still fairly comfortable.
Our stay at Robin's apartment was wonderful. The studio is well laid out and had everything we needed for our week in Toronto. Robin was a great host, and happy to welcome us even though we arrived a little late. The neighbourhood is great too, with lots of places to eat & drink. Would happily return!
Our stay at Robin's was really a pleasure! The apartment is very intimate, has a great kitchen and Robin was more than welcoming!
We absolutely loved the mattress on the bed….sooo relaxing! This made our holidays.
The kitchen and bathroom were very well equipped and the shower... great water pressure!
Robin welcomed us with her lovely cat and dog which made for a great welcoming committee - wish we would have gotten to see them more.
The place was simply exactly as described on AirBnB and we had a superb time in Toronto. We would definitely go back to the city and stay at Robin's. The Little Portugal and Little Italy neighborhoods are true gems, packed with fun activities, really great restaurants (good value for money - try the ones Robin recommends in her welcome package) and burgeoning night life, but still amazingly quiet and restful in the residential area.
This was a wonderful place to stay. As described, it is spacious, private, and the bed was so comfortable! Robin greeted me upon arrival and was very thorough in her tour of the studio apartment. I also loved meeting her beautiful pets, Junie and "Pais". I wasn't expecting the kitchen to be so well equipped, and that was helpful when I elected to eat in, either for breakfast or snacks. It's a terrific location - so easy to get around from there.
Robin is friendly. The studio is actually bigger than it looks in the pictures. It was also very clean.
The neighbourhood is nice, and everything you may need is in a walking distance.
We stayed at Robin's Little Italy apartment for a week in May and it was a perfect home away from home. It is indeed very cozy and quiet, and the tea was lovely. It's in a great location close to tons of restaurants, cafes, bars etc, and the college streetcar/subway are easily accessible. The bed was super comfy as well. A great experience. Thanks Robin!

About the Host, Robin
I have travelled all over, and have been fortunate to stay at people's homes all around Finland, Ireland, New Zealand, in Krakow, Tel Aviv, London, Paris, Granada, and across North America. These experiences win head and shoulders over any stay in the poshest hotels. I love meeting people who are exploring new places. I am enthusiastic about my neighborhood and look forward to sharing my favorite places and useful tips with you. Our house enjoys a retrieving dog resident but she will not be in your way. Until a month ago, there was a cat here, so if you are highly sensitive to cat hair, there could be a problem. We also enjoy a completely smoke-free property. I like to cook and bake. And eat.
