Cozy Quiet Apartment, Plenty of Tea

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Concord Ave, Toronto, ON M6H 2N9, Canada

The Space

This apartment is a big, open studio with windows in front and back. Queen bed with memory foam mattress, butcher block table with chairs and bench, armchair, rocking chair, and full kitchen including stove, fridge, microwave and toaster. Bathroom is spacious with plenty of space at the vanity, and good water pressure in the shower.

This is a smoke-free property!

Just one block away is College St. with plenty of nightlife, bars, music, and shopping. Little Italy is close enough for your morning coffee, or you can make coffee, tea, cocoa, or a full breakfast right in your own private kitchen. We supply coffee, several teas, hot chocolate, and sugars. A wonderful Portuguese bakery that sells eggs, milk and other essentials is 1.5 blocks away, as is a great breakfast place that opens at 6 AM.

Centrally located, a bus stop is less than a block away (200 metres), or walk one block to the College St. street car (300 metres). The subway is about an 8 minute walk (770 metres=0.46 miles!). And, less than a block away, taxis roll by at all hours. Or, walk to many restaurants, bars, shopping in Little Italy, Little Portugal, Christie Pitts Park, Dufferin Grove Park Organic Farmers Market (every Thursday of the year- bread baking right in the park!) There is a YMCA two blocks away, where you can join for one day for $15. There is a pool, sauna, machines all over the place, an indoor running track, and all the fitness classes are included with membership.

If you have a car, I will tell you how to prearrange to park on the street for the duration of your visit.

Despite being in the heart of the city, this is a very quiet location. If you want to curl up, rest, and sleep soundly, take walks along quiet streets while being close to the action, this is the place.

  • Robin and her apartment were both charming. She was very helpful and welcoming and the room itself had everything I needed.

  • Very fun place to be. We appreciated the real coziness of the apartment. Everything is in place and well thought of. Thank you Robin for your help with everything.

  • Robins apartment is brilliant. If I ever went to Toronto again I would stay here and also recommend it to family and friends.
The apartment is close to all transport, about 5 minutes walk to the street cars, and around 10 minutes walk to the subway. These can take you into downtown Toronto in around 20 minutes. Easy to get to and from the airport, which takes around 50 minutes. Robin made a map of all the streets - where to get the subway from and places to eat/drink which I thought was very nice and very useful to get your bearings.
The apartment was very quiet at night even though it was local. We didn't use the kitchen due to eating out but it had pretty much everything you needed to cook a meal.
Me and my boyfriend both had an excellent stay in Toronto. Thanks.

  • While the location could be considered a bit out of the city center by some, I loved the neighbourhood, which had all the amenities one needs: groceries, streetcar, subway, and a great Scottish pub on the corner for a dram on the way home.

The suite was clean and had a good kitchen, and a very comfortable bed. As a host, Robin is welcoming and readily available, while leaving you to it. Being partially sublevel, the flat should be nice and cool in the Toronto summer, and was warm during my seasonal chilly visit.

A great spot shouldering Little Italy and the lively Ossington nightlife, it's a real opportunity to discover a new area while you visit the city.

  • The apartment was cozy, very clean and well equipped (with the minor lack of a TV). Easy wi-fi access; close to transit on College or Ossington. Several good eating and drinking places within easy walking distance. Robin friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. Would stay again.

  • I enjoyed a 4-nights staying at the Robin's great room. When I arrived at the room, not only Robin's family but also her dog welcomed me. The whole room, table, bed and kitchen are so nicely arranged (as shown on the photos) for me to continue the daily life as at home. Spices, kitchen papers etc are there on the kitchen! The location is another benefit for guests. A station of a streetcar is close so that it is convenient to access to most of places in Toronto. A big supermarket is within a walking distance. Her guidebook on the neigborhood is helpful; I like a nearby Italian restaurant and coffee shop as suggested there. Robin is a great host to take care of needs of guests.

  • Apartment is very cozy and highly recommend to others looking for a warm fuzzy place that is near many great restaurants and transit locations. A home away from home! Robin was very flexible with scheduling and worked with us for our arrival times.

  • It's the nicest places one could stay in. It truly felt like a home away from home. Very clean. Great table bench and oh so comfortable bed.

We were greeted by Robin and her awesome dog. We loved the in depth binder that had practical information about the apartment as well the neighbourhood. Great guide to the area. Great location too!

Thank you Robin for the wonderful hospitality!!

  • This is a great spot - very nice studio apartment, clean and nicely furnished. Located in a great part of town and close to the TTC. Laundry and wifi available, as well as all the things you need to cook. I definitely recommend it.

  • We chose Robin's studio apartment as a home base while visiting family close by in Toronto. We are familiar with the neighbourhood so felt confident that the location would be great - we were not disappointed.
The Apartment was as described - Cozy with lots of tea! It is spacious , very clean, well appointed and an economical choice. The private entrance is well lit with motion detector lights. Although it was very cold during our visit the apartment was warm.
    We will definitely be back.

About
I have travelled all over, and have been fortunate to stay at people's homes all around Finland, Ireland, New Zealand, in Krakow, Tel Aviv, London, Paris, Granada, and across North America. These experiences win head and shoulders over any stay in the poshest hotels. I love meeting people who are exploring new places. I am enthusiastic about my neighborhood and look forward to sharing my favorite places and useful tips with you. Our house enjoys a retrieving dog resident but she will not be in your way. Until a month ago, there was a cat here, so if you are highly sensitive to cat hair, there could be a problem. We also enjoy a completely smoke-free property. I like to cook and bake. And eat.
