This apartment is a big, open studio with windows in front and back. Queen bed with memory foam mattress, butcher block table with chairs and bench, armchair, rocking chair, and full kitchen including stove, fridge, microwave and toaster. Bathroom is spacious with plenty of space at the vanity, and good water pressure in the shower.
This is a smoke-free property!
Just one block away is College St. with plenty of nightlife, bars, music, and shopping. Little Italy is close enough for your morning coffee, or you can make coffee, tea, cocoa, or a full breakfast right in your own private kitchen. We supply coffee, several teas, hot chocolate, and sugars. A wonderful Portuguese bakery that sells eggs, milk and other essentials is 1.5 blocks away, as is a great breakfast place that opens at 6 AM.
Centrally located, a bus stop is less than a block away (200 metres), or walk one block to the College St. street car (300 metres). The subway is about an 8 minute walk (770 metres=0.46 miles!). And, less than a block away, taxis roll by at all hours. Or, walk to many restaurants, bars, shopping in Little Italy, Little Portugal, Christie Pitts Park, Dufferin Grove Park Organic Farmers Market (every Thursday of the year- bread baking right in the park!) There is a YMCA two blocks away, where you can join for one day for $15. There is a pool, sauna, machines all over the place, an indoor running track, and all the fitness classes are included with membership.
If you have a car, I will tell you how to prearrange to park on the street for the duration of your visit.
Despite being in the heart of the city, this is a very quiet location. If you want to curl up, rest, and sleep soundly, take walks along quiet streets while being close to the action, this is the place.

I enjoyed a 4-nights staying at the Robin's great room. When I arrived at the room, not only Robin's family but also her dog welcomed me. The whole room, table, bed and kitchen are so nicely arranged (as shown on the photos) for me to continue the daily life as at home. Spices, kitchen papers etc are there on the kitchen! The location is another benefit for guests. A station of a streetcar is close so that it is convenient to access to most of places in Toronto. A big supermarket is within a walking distance. Her guidebook on the neigborhood is helpful; I like a nearby Italian restaurant and coffee shop as suggested there. Robin is a great host to take care of needs of guests.
Apartment is very cozy and highly recommend to others looking for a warm fuzzy place that is near many great restaurants and transit locations. A home away from home! Robin was very flexible with scheduling and worked with us for our arrival times.
It's the nicest places one could stay in. It truly felt like a home away from home. Very clean. Great table bench and oh so comfortable bed.
We were greeted by Robin and her awesome dog. We loved the in depth binder that had practical information about the apartment as well the neighbourhood. Great guide to the area. Great location too!
Thank you Robin for the wonderful hospitality!!
This is a great spot - very nice studio apartment, clean and nicely furnished. Located in a great part of town and close to the TTC. Laundry and wifi available, as well as all the things you need to cook. I definitely recommend it.
We chose Robin's studio apartment as a home base while visiting family close by in Toronto. We are familiar with the neighbourhood so felt confident that the location would be great - we were not disappointed.
The Apartment was as described - Cozy with lots of tea! It is spacious , very clean, well appointed and an economical choice. The private entrance is well lit with motion detector lights. Although it was very cold during our visit the apartment was warm.
We will definitely be back.
Robin's apartment is every bit as charming, cozy, and clean as it seems in the pictures she posted. As advertised, the apartment is equipped with a full kitchen, gorgeous sturdy butcher block table, super comfy bed, and a selection of tea that is not to be missed! We made the most of Toronto's culinary offerings by eating out for all our meals, but if you're planning on eating in at all, this apartment is definitely for you - we could have prepared anything from toast to roast turkey if the urge would have struck us.
We loved the private entrance to the apartment, which made us feel welcome to come and go as we pleased, without having to worry about disturbing anyone in the house. The apartment, in our opinion, was also perfectly situated: Robin's street is very quiet and residential - you'd never guess that busy College Street is only one block down. We had easy access to all the shops, cafes, and restos on College, Ossington, Dundas with the feeling of being able to go back to a real "home" every night.
We would recommend this space to anyone looking for a snug little refuge from those surprisingly chilly TO nights (although I'm sure the apartment is perfectly lovely in summer time as well!) Thank you, Robin, for offering such a wonderful hideaway.
Robin was a great host! Her place is great. Very cozy, especially with the great tea collection available. This apartment is under Robin's house, and it is very private and has its own entrance. The apartment was a perfect size for two people. Also very close to the subway station, and in a tucked away neighborhood location. Lots of great restaurants in the area. Had mostly everything we needed -- a full kitchen was nice, bathroom was great, and wi-fi worked the whole time we were there. Bed was also comfortable. I reccomend staying with Robin if you are staying in Toronto!
I booked Robin's spacious and cozy space for my boyfriend's visiting mother over the holidays. The apartment comes exactly as described but with more warmth, kindness and comfort! Thank you Robin, everything was perfect and we loved the plethora of warm beverages at our disposal. Happy New Year!
The downstairs apartment at Robin's house was a lovely place to stay. It's very affordable for the space and facilities available, kept well-heated in winter, and an easy walk to plenty of restaurants, bars and shops in the Dufferin/Little Italy area. Robin herself was very friendly and welcoming, and though I kept to myself while I was there, I feel if I'd needed advice or suggestions for places to go she'd have been happy to help. I'd definitely consider staying again if I returned to Toronto.
