Julian & Karen have been very helpful, pleasant and accomodating. We were arriving very late at night after having some flight cancelation, but they didn't seem to mind at all. They also let us to have a late afternoon checkout on our last day, which allowed to enjoy our last day. The flat was great value for the money too.
Julian & Karen are very nice, we spent a great moment at the flat, which was clean and confortable. Thank you for everything !
We were just arriving from France to visit our son living in Brooklyn for a while and it was great to be so close and also so close to Manhattan. We appreciated the sympathetic welcome and the disponibility of Julian for our requests.
The apartment is very close to the J line joining Manhattan and other areas very shortly.
What a shame about the snow. We couldn't appreciate the garden.
Neighbors are really nice;
A good time in New York City!
We had a great stay at Julian and Karen's place. The apartment itself was very nice and had everything we needed. Julian and Karen were very friendly and helpful, they live close by in case you need anything. Everything is conveniently located within walking distance, subway, grocery store, pharmacy, coffee shop etc.
New York is a great city and we can not wait to go be back in Brooklyn!
The apartment was great and comfortable. I stayed there with a friend for 9 nights and we enjoyed it a lot. The apartment is very close to the subway (J). I would defiantly go back there on my next visit to NY.
I absolutely agree with Saurabh, the only thing to note is the light in the apartment, but it is a problem only if you travel to New York to stay in an apartment...
We (Group of 4 adults) stayed at Julian's place for 4 nights. It was a very convenient stay. The location of his apartment is the biggest plus. Halsey St. is a 2 min walk and the J train that runs 24x7 that connects you to any part of the city. The room is exactly as it is in the pictures and was decently clean. Julian was very prompt in his responses over email or text. He even helped us in arranging a taxi for our return to LGA. The apartment is in the basement with only one window and a patio entrance in the living room. The bedroom has no fresh air inlet. That's probably the only thing to note if one has reservations about ventilation. The neighborhood is very safe. On two of those days we returned past midnight and it was absolutely fine. A grocery store even closer than the station is a good help too. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a place just to sleep at night and is majorly going to be out all day. There is not much or in fact anything to do if you plan to stay at home.
Another fabulous stay at Karen and Julian unit. The apartment is exactly as the picture to show it. It is clean, centrally located and equipped with everything you need for your stay. The hosts are more than helpful and go out of their way to make sure your stay is excellent. Looking forward to our next time trip there.
The apartment is perfect, clean and very convenient. No A/C but they did everything to cool down the apartment during the summer and we thank them a lot for that.
They beds are comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and the bathroom is clean.
We didn't have the chance to meet Karen but we had nice discussions with Julian. They answered very quickly to our questions and were very available with us.
Parking is just in front of the apartment (10$ / day) and the neighborhood is quite safe.
We will contact you back for a next stay in NYC.
Our hosts Julian and Karen were very nice and welcoming even with us arriving late past our check in time. The surrounding neighborhood isn't the best, and can be a little scary at night walking back from the subway. But everything you need is within walking distance; a laundromat around the corner and a supermarket and the J train just down the block. They have private parking in the front which made it VERY convenient. The apartment was well stocked with everything that we might need, but the floors seemed a little dirty and it looked like the place hasn't been dusted in a while. There was no AC, but there were 4 fans going constantly at all times which made it a little bearable but still pretty hot. And the wifi connection was horrible, which made it a little inconvenient. Overall, it was a good place to stay for the price and pretty close by to most of the boroughs.
