  • We had a lovely stay here. Connie and Andrew met us with leis and chocolates, and made themselves completely available if needed.

The cottage is charming and totally secluded thanks to the lush gardens. The kitchen was adequately equipped for preparing breakfasts and a special dinner in. The outdoor shower was a fun experience...now my husband wants one.

This place definitely became home for a few days and we were sad to leave. Thanks, Connie and Andrew, for sharing your special corner of Hawaii.

  • We have stayed on the Kona side of the island several times and always make a day trip to Hilo. This time we decided that we would stay for a couple of nights and found the Enchanted Rainforest Hideaway on Airbnb. The only thing negative we have to say is that we loved it so much we had to force ourselves to leave to get out and see the sites! Fresh tropical flowers in every room, the sounds of frogs, birds and warm rain, an outdoor shower, every little extra toiletry you could possibly need.... all this in the middle of a beautiful tropical jungle. We can't wait to go back and plan to stay longer next time.

  • Such a beautiful home, property and experience. We loved it and never wanted to leave. Outdoor shower was awesome! The detail of this place make it shine! Hope to come back again. Thank you Connie and Andrew!

  • This was the first time I've ever used Airbnb, and I was a little nervous about it, but it was a wonderful experience. The home is so amazing and CLEAN! I am a bit of a germaphobe, so that was important to me. It is remote enough that you feel all alone in the jungle, but still very close to all the attractions you want to see--volcano, beaches, hot ponds, etc. The house itself is so lovely, and they have everything you need there--plates, spices, washer/dryer, grill, boogie board, towels. Also, their housekeeper let us in and she was SO welcoming and nice--a wonderful way to start the experience. If we find ourselves back on this island, we would stay here in a heartbeat!!

  • An amazing place to stay! Such a great homebase for activities in the Puna district, which includes fantastic snorkeling, swimming, volcanoes, hikes, caves, and the awesome little town of Pahoa. Highly recommended for those who want a retreat in the jungle, away from the touristy parts of the Big Island. Nothing but good things for Connie and Andrew's rainforest retreat!

  • This is a wonderful place to stay when in the Hilo area. Very serene and very comfortable. Connie and Andrew are lovely people and you can tell that they have taken great pride in providing such a lovely place to stay. Also they had soooo many body products to enhance your bath and outdoor shower experience. And little extras that always come in handy like advil, mosquito spray and muscle rub. And I can not go without a special mention of the outdoor shower. That was delightful. Thanks Connie and Andrew.

    Mahalo!

  • It was a wonderful retreat for our Honeymoon! What a cool location and landscape! We loved the lush rain forest, coqui frogs (even if they are invasive), and outdoor shower. Be prepared for mosquitoes - it is a rainforest after all. We loved the whole experience.

  • Just as all the other reviews say, this place is fantastic. It's impeccably clean and stocked with anything you could need, as well as many things you didn't know you needed. The house is surrounded by rainforest full of fruit trees, flowers, birds and geckos. Although Andrew and Connie's place is just down the road if you should need them, you feel like you could be miles from anywhere. We also found the infamous coqui frogs to be relaxing, and slept very well. Having a hot shower outside in the rain was also a highlight. I would stay here rather than staying in a hotel in the city any day!

  • Andrew & Connie's house is lovely. It is located in the laid back Puna area. We enjoyed the local people and the relaxed atmosphere of the place. We only met Connie and she is a great host. She gave us very detailed directions to reach the house and communication with her was very good. She gave us some delicious passion fruits from her garden. The kitchen was fully equipped with all the items we needed for our dinners. We highly appreciated the BBQ. Washing machine and drier were very helpful for us. We also used the fins and the boogie board provided by Andrew & Connie. The thing that impressed us most was the house's cleanness. It was really spotless. We highly recommend Andrew & Connie's house to all Airbnb guests.
