Luxury European-style Loft Apartment in the heart of Phoenixville, Pennslyvania. Offers private Master bedroom with Queen-sized bed and/or comfortable full size sleeper sofa in media room. One shared full bath. Access to common areas include use of living room, dining room, kitchen and office loft.
Our antique building structure was originally a spinning mill, which was converted into 15 condominiums, very similar to european-style apartments. My home is one of four located on the top floor, overlooking historic Phoenixville. We have an elevator for easy luggage access or if you prefer, four flights of very steep antique steps for an excellent workout! :) The front entrance is lovely in the spring and summer with fresh flowers, vegetables and herb plants. The back entrance has a common patio with furniture and outdoor grill.
The renovation process was completed within the last 5 years, so all ammenities are new! The apartment has 16' angled ceilings, exposed pipes, original antique hardwood pine flooring, granite countertops, state of the art electrical, stainless steel appliances, granite bath, fresh paint and amazing character! During this renovation process, we converted the second bedroom into a media room which has a flat screen TV, cable, PS3 for games or DVD's, internet, sofa conversion for guests and comfortably seats about four-five persons. The kitchen is charming and ultra-functional wrapped up into the size of a shoe box! :) Continental breakfast includes coffee, tea, and smoothies with a variety of fresh fruit.
A lovely stroll or if necessary, a powerwalk into town, are my two favorite shoppes. Soltane, is a coffee house and bakery located at the end of Bridge Street, which makes wonderful fresh european breads and pastries, not to mention thee best coffee! Stop in to say Hey to Ryan, Mark and Adela and hang out in some very positive energy!!!
My favorite Cafe is called The Wooden Spoon, where my girlfriend, Barbie, is the head baker! Julie and Barbie serve fresh, organic lunches that include soups, quiches, salads, sandwhiches and veggie/hummus platters. The selection is endless and flavor combinations outstanding! Barbie's dessert treats are just to die for! From her Raspberry Squares to her Chocolate Peanut Butter Whootie Who's, not to mention her Chocolate Pecan Pumpkin pie! Julie does a tremendous amount of catering as well.
And, since a girl can't resist chocolate, I highly recommend stopping in to see Gayle at Bridge Street Chocolates! All handmade, incredible flavor profiles... a true chocolate shoppe!
If you love adventures, walk around town to the public library, the park, the foundry building, or enjoy a movie at the Colonial Theatre!
Considering this is is my primary residence, absolutely no pets or smoking is permitted. Closet space is limited but available.
This loft is decorated exquisitely and is right off the main drag of shops and restaurants in Phoenixville. The European style and antique feel of this apartment is sure to make anyone feel at home while they are away. But the best part? Host, Mimi Mackenzie is beyond hospitable. She is warm, kind, and more than a gracious host. She is very accommodating and even stocked her fridge with food she knew I liked. I truly feel that I have made a wonderful connection and friend in Mimi. I am lucky to have stayed in her beautiful home.
Mimi was so nice and helpful throughout the entire Airbnb process. I felt like I was at home the entire time. Mimi's apartment was beautiful and unique. I can pretty much guarantee that one can't find a space like it in that area. The apartment was clean and looked just like the pictures posted. The bed and pillows was extremely comfortable; It made me want to ask Mimi where she got them from! lol I really wish we had more time to explore the area around Mimi's apartment. It was full of restaurants, coffee shops, and little mom and pop shops. This area has a ton of history and every time we come we learn something new. You will not regret staying at Mimi's apartment! I would not hesitate to ask Mimi for another stay. Mimi is an excellent host whom truly cares about her guest!
Hey Natasha! Thank you so much for the kind review! I bought the pillows at Tuesday Morning. Full Down. I think they were 80$ each. The mattress has a firm memory foam topper on it from BJ's. It was a gift from Greg, but I think it was around 150$. I love it too. Makes the bed an amazing experience. You are welcome to stay anytime! :) Thank you again for coming! oxoMm
I had such a wonderful experience staying at Mimi's place. She herself was so accommodating and lovely to talk to with. The apartment is beautiful and very comfortable. I had fresh banana nut bread waiting for me and the next day fresh muffins!
Even though Mini was not there she provided her entire villa to us. Breakfast (an awesome one!) was included. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the place spotless! Her taste in interior design is exquisite! We felt in the 1950's Paris. My GF lived in France and she said she was able to relive the experience at Mimi's. we are planing on going back to
Phoenixville soon and no doubt, we are calling
Mimi's apartment was super clean, and beautiful. She herself was very accommodating, and was the perfect host during my stay. She made everything very easy for me, and I feel that I made a new friend in the process. She was full of travel recommendations, which were very helpful to someone who had never been to the area before. I would definitely recommend her as a host.
Very accurate description as entire top floor flat is professionally appointed by an interior designer. Exquisite decor makes for a warm and welcoming stay. Mimi is very accommodating and entire process went flawlessly.
