  • OVERALL
Venice is like Disneyland and this apartment is like Walt’s private, quaint little studio. It’s wonderful!

The studio itself is pretty small as is the kitchen, but the balcony makes up for it. It’s perfectly located, far enough away from the crowds and tourists, yet within perfect walking distance of everything. This apartment was like our little escape from the crowded streets and tourist groups.

Anna was very sweet to us and was in constant communication before and during our stay. The pictures were exactly like what we experienced and overall we had a great time.

If you’re looking for a place in Venice that actually gives you a taste of Venice living, this is the place for you. I would highly recommend this apartment to my friends and family although I don’t it would be good for more than 2 people.

    THE APARTMENT

The studio itself is kind of small but where it lacks in living space it makes up for with the balcony. The balcony runs the length of the apartment and the huge open-air windows make the space feel very roomy and comfortable. Instead of spending our lunches in the crowded streets San Marco, we would grab a bottle of wine, cheese and meats and sit out on our balcony for hours, just grazing at the roof tops and the city.

The kitchen is very tiny, but functional with all the appliances, etc that you would need. I made several of our meals here, and it worked just fine.

The bed was comfortable even though it was two beds pushed together. The washer worked just fine but be prepared to hang dry your clothes which can take forever, as there is no dryer.

The overall decor is so eclectic that the mismatched furniture and fun art just all seemed to go together and made us feel like we were in the heart of Venice.

    FAVORITES
    The balcony of course!

    NOISE LEVEL
During the day you could hear groups walk by and talk and at night it was very peaceful. The apartment is on the top floor so noise wasn’t an issue at all.

    LOCATION
We couldn’t have asked for a better location. Situated about 10 minutes from the Rialto Bridge and the train station, Anna’s apartment was the perfect distance away from all the crowds and tourist groups. When we arrived we took the water taxi but could have easily walked to the apartment and save €15. There is a grocery store right around the corner and several great restaurants. Even though we got lost a few times at night, we always found our way home and felt safe.

    WiFi
In general the WiFi was okay. We both need high speed WiFi for work and need to (website hidden) and use other video chat programs. The connections were pretty good unless other people in the building were using the Internet, then we would loose connections.

  • We had a great stay at the attic of Anna! Venice is wonderful, lots of fun, relaxation and culture. Anna is perfect, very responsive, helpful and nice.
However, and this only explains the lower rating, we were very surprised by the 'standards' of the place. We are saying this so Anna can try to do something about it. She does not live there, so she relies on reviews to make things better. The apartment is not well kept. The terrace was not all that clean, the plants full of mildew, some chairs not clean. An overall feeling of abandoned house. Also inside, behind some furniture and on the chimney, a lot of dust! The inside of the bath tub, there was rot on the joints.
It was not catastrophic as we stayed for a week and had fun, but considering the price, we were expecting higher standards of quality. Also, they are things easily arranged. So yes Anna, go around with the person cleaning to make sure everything is spotless and your apartment will be perfect. Ah, also important for families, the water heater is VERY small, one shower and some dishes and pouf! no water anymore...

    Response from Anna:

I am very disappointed by Sophie's words, mostly because some of the information on the flat are FALSE, and Sophie was a problematic host while staying at my apartment, the only person I have ever had problems with.
    1. The flat is professionally cleaned after every rental, and the windows are ORIGINAL as in they are authentic and old, as every other thing in the house, which is placed in an historic building (this explains the dated glass).
    2. Second of all there is not a bath tub in the toilet, so I don't understand why mentioning and making up false details.
    3. The flat suits 2 people, with a small sofa bed for an extra person. The water is more than enough for this number of people - the flat is not suitable for a big number of people anyways.

  • Lovely flat and a generous welcome from our hostess. I can warmly recommend Anna's comfortable attic apartment for a holiday in Venezia. It could not be better!

  • Anna was a great host and very responsive. The apartment was lovely and comfortable - everything was as described. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

  • A totally enjoyable experience! Anna met us at the train station and took us right to the apartment. The apartment has charm and sitting on the balcony looking over the rooftops of Venice while having breakfast will always be a memory. Thanks Anna!

  • Anna's apartment was exactly as described and provided us with a wonderful home base from which to visit Venice. We were greeted at the Vaporetto stop and guided to the flat, and Anna took the time to tell us some very helpful things about San Croce and Venice as a whole.

The flat's location cannot be beat: close to everything while removed enough from the busy tourist spots to provide for peace and quiet and make you feel like a true Venetian for a few days.

The terrace is fantastic and the kitchen, while very compact, had everything we needed to enable us to prepare some simple meals.

This is a perfect place to be in the city and we recommend Anna's place wholeheartedly.

  • Great apartment in the heart of Venice, we really enjoyed the terrasse overlooking the roofs, even in rain a pleasure! Thanks a lot, Anna, for your hospitality!

  • This flat is in a perfect location. Central to almost everything and very close to the train station. If you want to cook meals this is NOT the flat for you. Very small with no room to prep food. The terrace was nice but we didn't use it that much. We were gone during the day and in the evening the mosquitos come out. The king bed shown is really 2 twin beds pushed together. They were separated for us for some reason so we just left them. The flat was very large so on a down day was comfortable to stay in. The main plus for this apartment was it's location. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in Venice! The apartment was spacious although small kitchen, which doesn't matter as there are lots of really good restaurants right outside the apartment which were full of locals rather than tourists. The square right by the apartment was charming we thought the location was just perfect! The terrace was great to chill with a bottle of wine from the coop around the corner (very handy). We would definitely stay here again. Anna came around to see us and was super friendly and helpful.

  • My wife and I had an excellent stay in Anna's apartment! It's clean, bright and well located on the third floor with a beautiful terrace full of green plants. Anna is a gracious host and helpful too, with a detailed knowledge of Venice's art and history and with some good suggestions of nearby eateries. The bed although firm is comfortable and very adequate. We hope to return on another trip.
