About This Listing
Really cool hostel space! Little private rooms feel like you're at a tranquil spa. Just 2 blocks from the metro station. Only a 3 minute walk to the Oakland City station. Halfway between Airport and Downtown, perfect for downtown conferences/events.
Semi-Private Space.... This is not a real room with solid walls, but one of six cheerful, inviting, beautifully decorated areas divided by warm solid wooden partitions and floor to ceiling curtains. Picture a small spa room with the cozy feel of fort you may have built as a kid. Some have described them as sleeping pods or cubicles. There is total visual privacy, and guests are asked to keep any noise at a minimum, to accomodate everyone's sleeping schedule. In each of these little sleeping pods, you will find a very comfortable and well dressed single bed, plenty of storage, towel, robe, slippers, earplugs, headphones, fan, and pretty much everything needed to get a cozy night's rest, an afternoon nap, a session of work/study, or just chillin and relaxing. These crash pads are perfect for just a night passing through Atlanta (only 4 quick stops from the Airport, then a 3 minute walk to the house) or even for an extended stay (so close to downtown) At any given time there could potentially be up to 6 people staying in the Crash Pad area, sharing a small kitchen, one shower/tub, 2 toilets, and 3 vanity sinks with loads of natural light and mirrors, which is plenty to accomodate everyone. The Crash Pads and amenities described are on the Garden level of our beautiful historic home. The main level has 5 private rooms, 2 bathrooms, the big main kitchen, and lots of living room/common area space available to use for hanging out, working, reading, etc...The common areas, bathrooms and kitchen on main floor are all available to crash pad guests, too. Guests are usually well traveled, friendly, educated, interesting to chat with, and in the habit of good house sharing etiquette. Sorry, no children or pets allowed. However, we do have 3 of the sweetest, cutest dogs ever that stay here, as well as myself, Tracy.
House is tastefully furnished with vintage housewares mixed with modern and elements of nature. Kitchen available to guests, as well as WIFI and laundry facilities. Nice big yard and patio seating perfect for enjoying our beautiful, sunny Atlanta mornings.
The neighborhood...Capitol View, an up and coming community close to downtown. It's a strictly residential neighborhood comprised of single family homes that has a Bohemian mixed with inner city feel. You won't meet any tourists around here. It's mostly just local, lower income, working class, friendly ATLiens. Old neighborhood/southern hospitality. No pretentious people, no great markets, cafes, . or shops, just single family homes, a few random commercial businesses, a nice big park, and a mini mart for convenience items. But Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Publix, etc are just a 10 to 15 minute drive or easily accessible on Marta
Bathrooms, kitchens, all common areas, laundry, back yard, patio, grill, garden, etc...
Interaction with Guests
I am around most days, as well as the 3 pups. Also, there are usually between 5 to 15 other guests staying here, so you can choose to keep to yourself or mingle with other guests. Overall, it's a very clean, comfortable, calm, and peaceful atmosphere. Excellent place to rest and recharge.
Tracy was very welcoming. The house is very relaxing and designed beautifully. Tracy has beautiful friendly dogs and enjoyed their company as well. The house is in lower income area but wouldnever think so once inside the house. This was my first AirBNB stay and had a good experience. I give a solid recommendation. If have alot of luggage with you I would suggest getting a private room as the shared rooms are a bit small. Perfect if youre one bagging it.
The host made me feel welcome by writing me an email before I arrived to make sure I was good to go, she even offered to pick me up at the nearby MARTA. I didn't take the ride and was able to walk the quarter mile to the Bungalow without any issues. The space is just as advertised and the hospitality 5 out of 5 stars. There was an outdoor space to relax and complimentary coffee and tea. The host even sat with me for 20 minutes to share ideas on what to do in Atlanta. It was peaceful, quiet, convenient and low-key: perfect for my 1 night two day adventure. Highly recommend this spot!!
Tracy was amazing and accommodating. The place was a gem - I didn't get to enjoy the wonderful looking backyard and its greenery, but plan to in my future travels.
Tracy was a fantastic host and made my first AirBnB a memorable experience. She was kind enough to pick me up from Oakland Station bus station when I got in around 10PM.
Everything was all setup and she gave a quick tour of the place as well as the rules. The neighbourhood is as described, a working place neighbourhood where everyone is extremely friendly.
The guests were easygoing and her dogs will make you melt! Give them a trip and they'll love you forever!
Next time I'm back in ATL, I'll definitely be staying here.
I ve spent only 3 days in Atlanta, and i really really want to come back there to improve my knowledge avoir this city. Tracy is a very kind and helpfully person, It was a really good meeting now i know where i can stay in Atlanta with her 3 dogs (I think they almost love me too) . Thank you for all the informations and your house : clean, spacious and beautiful ATL bungalow oldschool/newstyle !
Tracy was a great host. The room was exactly as advertised and was exactly what I needed for a quick place to sleep. She was accommodating despite my flight being delayed. I was in town for a wedding and didn't know what to wear - so she even gave some great style advice.

About the Host, Vintage Bungalow
Easy going, creative types. We like cooking, entertaining, local, organic food, yoga, good wine, lots of good music, art, film, animals, nature, sailing, the ocean, traveling, calm and tranquil spaces, and try to find beauty in all things. We love to have fun and not take life too seriously. We enjoy hosting and meeting new friends from all cultures and backgrounds and don't really follow the mainstream of American culture much at all. We love to buy houses and fix them up. We have quite a few places where we host guests and try to be as accommodating as possible. When staying in a private room, you will be in a room in one of our houses, most likely, there will be a couple of dogs in the house as well, so animal lovers usually love staying with us. Our properties are in lower income neighborhoods where real, local ATLiens live. You won't see many tourists around, mostly, just typical working class folks who love to sit on the front porch and unwind as part of Southern culture. We always say hello to each other in passing, so please be friendly and observe our friendly custom when encountering locals, they will appreciate the gesture. Because we are in a lower income neighborhood, we can offer more upscale accommodations to travelers on a budget. Also, for travelers relying on public transportation, we are on the Marta line conveniently situated halfway between the Airport and downtown. Our rates are very reasonable and not subject to negotiation. Rates, terms, and policies are fixed and applied equally to all guests. We look forward to hosting you one day soon.
