The Space

All rooms are large with a comfortable and well dressed either Queen or King sized bed, desk, hooks, mirror, closet, and en-suite sink/vanity. Perfect for just a night passing through Atlanta (only 4 quick stops from the Airport, then a 3 minute walk to the house) or even for an extended stay (so close to downtown)

The house....vintage bungalow, built in 1925. Original details such as hardwood floors, high ceilings, big original windows, glass door knobs, etc...tastefully furnished with vintage housewares mixed with modern and elements of nature. Full kitchen available to guests, as well as WIFI and laundry facilities. Guests are usually well traveled, friendly, educated, interesting to chat with, and in the habit of good house sharing etiquette. Sorry, no children or pets allowed. But we have 3 dogs here. They mostly stay downstairs with us, out back, or in the kitchen. They are not permitted in most of the common areas and guest rooms, so no worries about any pet hair or mess, very clean house.

The neighborhood...Capitol View/Sylvan Hills, an up and coming community close to downtown. It's a residential neighborhood comprised of mostly single family homes and has a Bohemian inner city vibe. You won't encounter many tourists here, just local ATLiens. Beautiful Perkerson Park is nearby (5 minut walk) with tennis courts, basketball, frisbee golf course, running track with workout stations, and plenty of beautiful open space.

I have 3 houses very close to each other, when you book a queen room, you will be staying in one of my houses. All are very charming and offer the same amenities.

  • This was my first time using AirBnB and my stay here was a great introduction. I stayed at Tracy and Forrest's for 2 days for work in Atlanta. The neighborhood looks older and further further down the way seems questionable but I felt it was really quiet and had that old neighborhood charm to it. Tracy and Forrest were very welcoming, gave me a quick tour, wifi password, key and then let me be. I didn't really run across the other guests when I was there. I felt like I was at a home away from home. The bed was comfortable, sheets and pillows were comfy. I had a sink and mirror in my room, which is awesome. There was a light above it which was daylight brightness quality. A detail very much appreciated when a girl has to put her makeup on. I'm always scared to sleep with all the lights off in a new place and the lights were on a dimmer so I was able to dim the lights low to sleep. The house and my room was VERY clean. They had a robe and slippers in my room which gave me that Bed and Breakfast feel. A/C was at a comfortable setting especially since it was weather is getting HOT. Its definitely obvious that they know how to host a guest. I looked at all the listings they had so I'd know all the rooms that I might get, read most of the reviews and I feel that my experience was what I expected and more. I was really exhausted from my travels and work that this place was what I needed for my stay in Atlanta.

  • Our stay at Tracy and Forrest's was simple and sweet. The room was amazing and the house in general was well-equipped and adorable... it felt more like a B&B. We were just there for a quick stay overnight, so we didn't get to meet Tracy and just had one conversation with Forrest, but he was friendly and helpful. I'd recommend this location (and I imagine the others are also just as good) to anyone looking for a stay in Atlanta! The neighborhood isn't exactly in the center of things, but it has easy access to downtown and Midtown/the Highlands - not more than a 20 min drive or so - so it wasn't a problem for us. As long as you have a car, you should be good.

  • I was visiting Atlanta to attend a conference and, although a bit removed from conference activities downtown (though within a 15 minute ride on MARTA), Tracy's house on Dill Avenue SW was a great place to spend the night. Tracy was a great host and her space was comfortable. She picked me up at the MARTA station to ensure I got settled into the space upon my arrival.

The room and the rest of the house were well maintained and furnished (though different than the pictures on this site, which was not a problem). The house has a mix of longer- and shorter-term guests and Tracy lives downstairs. Everyone I met was very friendly. The neighborhood seemed safe enough to walk around in, though I only ever walked from the house to the nearby Oakland City MARTA station (about a 5 minute walk). There isn't much around it though so if you need a restaurant or a larger grocery store, you may need to take MARTA or drive to another part of town. I didn't have a car with me, but there appeared to be plenty of space on the street for parking if you need it. Since the airport is only 4 MARTA stops to the south, this place is also convenient if you have an early flight out (as I did) or get stuck in Atlanta overnight unexpectedly due to a flight delay.

I highly recommend Tracy as a host and will stay with her again if I return to Atlanta! Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to interact with Tracy again (in person) after the first night due to conference activities and getting home late.

    Response from Tracy And Forrest:

As stated in our listings, when booking a private room, it could be at any of the 3 properties, which are all in the same area and have same style and amenities. If you are relying on Marta, we will try to place you in property closest to train station, if you need secure parking, we will try to place you in property with best parking, etc...Also, we are constantly rearranging and redecorating as new artwork and furniture is acquired, old linens are worn and need upgrading, new shelving and or cabinets added for guest convenience, just feel like changing things up for guest comforts, etc... We post photos from all the houses, to reflect the style and feel of our properties collectively. But since we are constantly changing thing up, photos are never going to be identical to how things look presently. We feel confident, when guests arrive, they will be pleased with our upgrades and changes. The feedback we get from many repeat guests over the years has been overwhelmingly positive. However, if there is something in a photo that you really love and are hoping to experience, please let us know before booking, so we can be sure to have such items available for you, if possible.

  • It was a pleasant evening at Tressy's. The house is really nice and well-decorated. My room was very nice too and the bed, omg so comfy! Tressy's home is a very easy drive from downtown (10min). Free street parking is a plus. I just spent one night there but it was enough to say that she is warm and welcoming. She also told me about the MLK Jr. quarter on Sunday morning and I thank her for that: the full church and gospel choir was awesome. I definitely recommend that place!

  • Loved Tracy's beautiful home. She is a great host and was super accommodating. The house is centrally located and the dogs were great. Tracy's house felt like home and I am recommending her to all of my friends that come to Atlanta!

  • Tracy was very accommodating during our stay in Atlanta. Her house is neat, clean and very comfortable. The location very close to the airport helped with an early flight. Recommend a stay with Tracy if you are in Atlanta.

  • This was my second Airbnb experience and the room was great. Both the house and room was clean and quiet. The Marta Station is within walking distance. Tracy was a great host that provided all the necessary information prior to arrival and was very accommodating. I definitely recommend staying here.

  • We enjoyed a very cozy stay! No complaints here!

  • Conveniently located near Marta and less than 5 miles to downtown, the house was comfortable and clean. It has a lot of bedrooms so there were a number of guests coming and going. Tracy also has some longer term guests as well.

The two dogs were well behaved and the price was right. I'd stay there again.

Easy going, creative type. I like cooking, entertaining, local, organic food, yoga, good wine, lots of good music, art, film, animals, nature, sailing, the ocean, traveling, calm and tranquil spaces, and I try to find beauty in all things. I like to have fun and not take life too seriously. I enjoy hosting and meeting new friends from all cultures and backgrounds and don't really follow the mainstream of American culture much at all. I am a realtor and love to buy houses and fix them up. I have quite a few places where I host guests and try to be as accommodating as possible, so you will also have a co-host, Forrest. and his handsome pooch, Odin, here to make sure your stay if a great one.
