About this listing
One of 4 private rooms in beautiful historic home. Just 2 blocks to Oakland City Marta station to catch metro. Located halfway between downtown and airport. Perfect for downtown conferences/events. Tranquil guest house with all the creature comforts.
NO CAR NEEDED......
All rooms are large with a comfortable and well dressed either Queen or King sized bed, desk, hooks, mirror, closet, and en-suite sink/vanity. Perfect for just a night passing through Atlanta (only 4 quick stops from the Airport, then a 3 minute walk to the house) or even for an extended stay (so close to downtown) All 5 Private rooms are on the main level of this large vintage home and all have en suite vanities sinks for washing up, shaving, brushing teeth, etc... and there are also 2 full bathrooms on the main level. Downstairs is the Garden level, where we stay along with the Crash Pad guests, and also where the laundry, two more bathrooms, another kitchen, and of course access to the garden can be found.
The house....vintage bungalow, built in 1925. Original details such as hardwood floors, high ceilings, big original windows, glass door knobs, etc...tastefully furnished with vintage housewares mixed with modern and elements of nature. Full kitchen available to guests, as well as WIFI and laundry facilities. Guests are usually well traveled, friendly, educated, interesting to chat with, and in the habit of good house sharing etiquette. Sorry, no children or pets allowed. But we have 3 dogs here. They mostly stay downstairs with us, out back, or in the kitchen. They are not permitted in most of the common areas and guest rooms, so no worries about any pet hair or mess, very clean house.
The neighborhood...Capitol View/Sylvan Hills, an up and coming community close to downtown. It's a residential neighborhood comprised of single family homes and has a bohemian inner city vibe. You won't encounter many tourists here, no trendy shops or cafes, just a little mimi mart carrying convenience items for local, lower income, working class ATLiens. Beautiful Perkerson Park is nearby (5 minute walk) with tennis courts, basketball, frisbee golf course, running track with workout stations, and plenty of beautiful open space.
We very much enjoyed our stay. The house was as shown in the pictures. Tracy was a wonderful host, the house was gorgeous, and the dogs were endearing. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are coming to Atlanta.
My friend and I had a fantastic stay here! Tracy was a wonderful and accommodating host.
We absolutely fell in love with this warm and charming home. The pictures do not lie. Our room was clean, comfortable, and very well decorated. Robes and slippers were provided too! The common areas were very welcoming and we enjoyed brief interactions with other guests staying here.
For an added bonus, it was a great delight to meet the darling pit bulls who live in the house. I wish I would have had more time to hang out with them!
The proximity to public transit cannot be beat. It was a breeze (no pun intended) to get here from the airport. Traveling without a car was super easy with the MARTA station right up the street and the availability of Lyft and Uber in the area.
If I'm ever back in Atlanta, I would not hesitate to book another stay here. I highly recommend this place!
My husband and I enjoyed staying here, the room was nice and we liked that we were close to the MARTA train/bus system. Thanks for a great stay!
Nice home, cozy atmosphere. Nice room and bathrooms. The host always responded to any questions and was welcoming.
Tracy is a wonderful host. She had a full house for a convention I was attending, and she managed all of us with ease and courtesy, even picking people up at the Marta station at peculiar hours. And taking people grocery shopping when she had the time.
I had driven in from Louisiana and Tracy provided some names and directions of great places to eat. Several times, other guests and I would go out to eat and shopping. There is plenty of room for parking on the street.
The house is very clean and comfy with an eclectic mix of furnishings and art. My bed was super comfy - no end to pillows, most of which I tucked into the closet. The kitchen is well stocked with essential cooking needs and spices. There are baskets one can label for one's food, both in and out of the fridge. Really well thought out.
I made three new best friends: Pepita, Veruca and Mayfield. Three of the most lovable and obedient Pit Bulls you will ever want to meet. Pepita will melt your heart, and she's a mischievous thing, too. Make sure they sit for their treats - precious!
Lovely backyard with lots of shade and a BBQ, and fire pit for cooler weather. The perfect Airbnb experience awaits with Tracy. If you have a large group, she has many rooms and you could conceivably rent the whole house.
Whether you are traveling alone, like I was, or with a group of people, you will enjoy staying at Tracy's house. It is convenient to Marta and buses that can take you all over the city in short order. The Marta rail line to the city center takes no time at all.
Loved my new found 4-legged and biped friends. When I go back to Atlanta, I will stay here again. Thanks, Tracy!
Such a beautiful space with cute pups and a friendly host! Please stay here if you desire beautiful ambiance for an affordable price :)
Tracy was a fantastic hostess! I had my hands full coming from the airport, so she offered to pick me up from the Marta station. On the way she was able to show me how to navigate to it - it is very walk-able. The neighborhood is a tad bit sketchy, but I didn't have any issues while I was there and was able to make the short walk from the Marta even as a single woman at 10:30 in the evening. The house was super cute and the room was perfectly set up for guests - I loved having a sink in the room. The backyard was all fenced in and was a lovely place to sit with a cup of coffee or glass of wine at the beginning/end of the day. I would highly recommend Vintage Bunglalow! This was my first experience and it has set the bar rather high. I come to Atlanta on business fairly often, and in the future, I will be forgoing the hotel to stay at the Vintage Bungalow from now on.

About the Host, Vintage Bungalow
Easy going, creative types. We like cooking, entertaining, local, organic food, yoga, good wine, lots of good music, art, film, animals, nature, sailing, the ocean, traveling, calm and tranquil spaces, and try to find beauty in all things. We love to have fun and not take life too seriously. We enjoy hosting and meeting new friends from all cultures and backgrounds and don't really follow the mainstream of American culture much at all. We love to buy houses and fix them up. We have quite a few places where we host guests and try to be as accommodating as possible. When staying in a private room, you will be in a room in one of our houses, most likely, there will be a couple of dogs in the house as well, so animal lovers usually love staying with us. Our properties are in lower income neighborhoods where real, local ATLiens live. You won't see many tourists around, mostly, just typical working class folks who love to sit on the front porch and unwind as part of Southern culture. We always say hello to each other in passing, so please be friendly and observe our friendly custom when encountering locals, they will appreciate the gesture. Because we are in a lower income neighborhood, we can offer more upscale accommodations to travelers on a budget. Also, for travelers relying on public transportation, we are on the Marta line conveniently situated halfway between the Airport and downtown. Our rates are very reasonable and not subject to negotiation. Rates, terms, and policies are fixed and applied equally to all guests. We look forward to hosting you one day soon.
