The cabinas were in a beautiful location about a 10 minute drive from downtown Puerto Viejo. For the purpose of staying 2 nights, I do wish we would have been closer to town as it was a 4.000 colones trip each way to town - but that was no fault of El Nido - it was me not doing enough research. I would say these cabinas are best for long-term stays, especially for families. I was traveling with two friends from Costa Rica and it was a bit too quiet for us, but again, not El Nido's fault. A huge plus is they let us bring a dog so long as we were responsible for their property. The grounds around the cabinas are well-maintained and beautiful! You hear howler monkeys and birds each morning, which is wonderful. The room itself was nice, but not spectacular. Basic decorations, sheets, pillows, etc. It was spacious with two beds. No air-co which is common in Costa Rica, but it was a bit hot and sticky at night. We came during the week (Wed - Fri) so it was really, really quiet. I think they had like 3-4 guests there. I'm not even sure if there were enough people staying there to open the restaurant and we didn't stick around to eat there, but I heard it was good. Overall, I'd stay there again, but only if it was a longer-term stay and if it was with my husband / kids. Not the best place if you don't have a car and want to be closer to Puerto Viejo.

We had an incredible visit! The jungle noises at night were so perfect, it felt surreal. Perfectly clean, comfortable and beautiful little home in the jungle, just minutes from the beach and some amazing eateries (found thanks to suggestions from our helpful hosts!) Puerto Viejo was our favorite stop in Costa Rica and we couldn't have been happier with our accommodations!

Lovely cabins and a friendly welcome. We were impressed at the location - it gets dark early, so we were grateful to have plenty of local eating options less than a minute's walk from El Nido, and the supermarket close by for self-catering. The cabin itself was spacious, clean and well-equipped. The gardens are lovely, and we enjoyed floating in the swimming pool watching the toucans. A couple of small things - we would have appreciated mosquito nets, and we were informed on arrival that breakfast wasn't included if you book through AirBnB. It costs an additional $5 per day and was lovely, but we opted for mangoes from the local supermarket most days.

Paolo was a great host. Always helpful and very polite. We had a gorgeous time at the beaches (Punta Uva is the best within walking distance) making trips to the surrounding and enjoying the evenings at the Pizzeria, where Paolo did a great job as well. The Cabinas are cleaned every day and the pool is a highlight at the property. We had wonderful experiances and will hopefully come again.

We actually ever meet the hostess but the young couple running the place was very friendly and helpful. They make a great real pizza also. The rooms were very clean but we did have some type of worms crawling on the floors. The cabin that my sister rented there did not. Hot water is very hard to adjust and kitchen had no spices at all. I bet the couple running the resturant would have loaned us some if we needed it. You can not access beach from the property but just a short walk down the road gets you to it.

This was one of my favorite places in Costa Rica, and I highly recommend staying here if you are traveling to the Caribbean coast. Karinga and Paulo were so welcoming and helpful and the cabin was great. The location is another reason to stay here- it's just a short walk to the beach, shops or other restaurants and if you want to go to Puerto Viejo, it's a short bike ride away. We also loved the breakfast every morning.

Beautiful, well kept property in the middle of the jungle. Our cabina looked exactly as pictured, though I must mention that the hot water was touch and go, the wifi was only available from the restaurant area and the pool/jacuzzi was not heated. Luckily for us, the Caribbean weather was hot and humid so we were ok with occasional lukewarm shower, we enjoyed the cool pool and we didn't need wifi as we had plenty of other things to keep us busy! We enjoyed sitting on the patio at night and listening to the sounds of the jungle. Perfect location! Just remote enough. A quick walk to an amazingly private beach, a handful of restaurants and a grocery store. Paolo and his family were accommodating and helpful. We would stay here again.
