Rome in the place of Monteverde, a few minutes from Trastevere's wonders. Monteverde is the quiet district of Rome in which there is the bright and comfortable apartment. It's very close to one of the "typical local street markets outside" as well as a variety of restaurants and shops.
Well connected by bus or taxi, 30 min. to Fiumicino Airport, 15 min. to the heart of the city (bus or tram no. 8) or to the Vatican in 20 minutes,
Monteverde is also one of the green areas of Rome, not far from the Villa Pamphili's Park.
Services, hospitals and security are very close.
You can use the kitchen and/or taste the true delights of the antique bakery downstairs the house or the pizza and restaurant to the next doors.
WI-FI use is free (you will find the password to your arrival).
Private bathroom complete with towels.
SPECIAL OFFER valid for a minimum of 2 nights.
SERVICE INCLUDED from/to airport rail station
Alessandro was very kind and picked us up from Trastevere station (albeit 30 minutes late) and brought us to the flat. On the way he showed us nearby places to go for fresh bread in the morning or dinner in the evening. At the flat he described in detail how to get to the city center, which takes around 40-50 mins. with public transport. The flat is very clean and the room has a private bathroom across the hallway. When we arrived we noticed that there were no towels, but Alessandro made sure we got them and a hairdryer before the end of the day. The kitchen is basic, but has everything you need for cooking small meals at home should you wish to.
The room itself is nice and the bed is comfortable, only downside we experienced was the traffic noise from the busy street and some very loud, emotional neighbours living next door.
The area wasn't touristy at all, so don't expect the local businesses to understand English. That's part of the charm though :)
Parfait accueil souriant bienveillant
Rome is a beautiful city but sometines a bit difficult to understand
Therefore it was useful to be welcomed and helped for practical details by Alessandro
Precise consciencious kind he took the time to pick us at trastevere station and to explain everything needed about the room the city the way to moove around the shops and restaurants nearby
Perfect welcoming pleasant and smily
2 details to know about the kitchen : it is a bit small for 4 if the 2 rooms are busy so in case it is necessary to organize
And even if all cupboards are full only a few of those things are ok because either very used or not adapted to the heater / too big for the oven.
We had the best time spending a few days at Alessandro’s! He is an extremely warm and kind person and a true example of Italian hospitality. We were kind of green when we arrived to Rome and Alessandro not only picked us up, but also helped get our bearings by driving us around the neighbourhood, recommending several places and giving tips on how to get the best out of the visit in Rome.
The apartment has all the equipment and utilities one could possibly need, moreover, it seems like each room has its own bathroom, which is a nice and convenient feature :) The whole place is really neat and clean, if you have keen eye for it, you will even appreciate beautiful hand-made (by Alessandro’s family) furniture in the bedroom ;-)
Last, but not least - the neighbourhood. It may not seem like the most central location or particularly close to the metro, but believe me when I say it only works in its advantage. You actually feel like you’re the only tourist around, which at least for us was the cool part. There’s a totally amazing food market happening every morning just downstairs of the apartment, which combined with bakery, coffee place and a really nice restaurant really gives you the local feeling. Combine it with the fact that it takes around 20 minutes to take to Piazza Venezia and even less to Trastevere and you will see how it’s better than a place in the strict centre. Also, we appreciated the fact that you don’t need to commute in a crowded metro if you’re trying to get to the most popular sights.
All in all - it was a highly memorable visit :) if you’re looking for a place to stay in Rome - Alessandro is your guy!

He was absolutely nice host and the best Italian I've ever met. We spend 5 days. We had super great memories in Rome. He welcomed and took us by his own car to his place. Also, he explained about transportation from city centre to his place specifically and well. Actually, we needed to go to Termini to take shuttle to airport early in the morning, he was willing to us take to station. Moreover, he printed our boarding pass and take us to laundry service shop in person. He is the best host. I strongly recommend to stay in his place as well as to visit the restaurants near his place he recommend.
We had a wonderful time at Alessandro's apartment. The apartment is beautiful, private and just perfect. It is in a lovely area and we enjoyed the market and bakery a lot. Alessandro informed us well and suggested a restaurant that was as he called it "an emotion" to eat their food. Fantastic! He made my day when he showed his vintage Fiat 500 to us - so very special. We will definitely stay at his apartment again. Wonderful!!!
Alessandro was an awesome host to both my friend and I. Like the other reviewers have already said, the information he provides is invaluable and truly made our trip. He told us how to get around and some awesome places to eat. You really can't go wrong by staying here if you want to see Rome.
