About this listing
Our sunny 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment in a quiet neighborhood in Brooklyn 6 blocks from Prospect Park offers a large master bedroom accessing a outdoor garden terrace.
Our sunny 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment offers a large master bedroom accessing a 130 square foot outdoor garden terrace. The west facing terrace offers hours of sun soaking and amazing sunset views one floor above a super quiet Brooklyn street and neighborhood. An outdoor table and chairs with umbrella afford (along with strong wifi) a great outdoor workspace during the day and a great sunset dining spot in the evening. Dozens of potted flowers and vegetables (with ripening tomatoes, eggplants, and various herbs) help add to this unique urban oasis.
If you are seeking more greenery, or perhaps are a runner, Prospect Park is only a 6 block walk away.
There is a 3.2 mile loop around the park. There is a zoo, carousel, outdoor concert venue, tennis courts and more in the park.
The 3 bedrooms vary in size (200, 150 and 120 square feet) and are perfect for a family with children.
The dining room with teak dining table and 6 chairs allows for elegant dinners indoors if you choose not to eat on the terrace. The kitchen is rather small, but fully equipped with larger refrigerator, oven, toaster, blenders, juicer and a large counter surface with two barstools for easy group meal preparation.
The apartment is located on the second floor above the landlord and owner who resides on the first floor, so we prefer small families and quieter guests. The whole apartment is available for 3 and ½ weeks during the heart of the summer: July 22 – August 15. Dates are somewhat negotiable depending upon the size of the group.

Interaction with Guests
We will be out of the apartment and available via phone and email.
Kensington is one of the most diverse neighborhoods in Brooklyn. Comprised of primarily single-family homes, it's incredibly quiet and safe. We sleep with the door to the terrace open every night without a worry. Park Slope, recently named one of the most family-friendly (and most expensive) neighborhoods in New York is just a few stops on the train, a short bus ride or a 1/2 hour walk through the beautiful Prospect Park.
You will be walking distance to the Celebrate Brooklyn venue in Prospect Park which has free outdoor concerts all summer long, as well as the LeFrak Center at Prospect Park where you can rent bikes and boats by the hour to enjoy the park.
Located in the residential neighborhood of Kensington, the apartment is 3 blocks from the F/G train (20 minutes to Manhattan, 40 mins to Williamsburg) and a 6 block walk to Prospect Park.
Street parking is available; no permit required.
Many buses available to other parts of Brooklyn.
Other Things to Note
There are two friendly female cats living in the apartment. We have arranged for a cat sitter to come and feed them in the mornings and empty their litter box; if you would rather take on that task we're happy to reduce your rate by $10/day.
Disclaimer: The landlord, who lives downstairs is in the process of expanding his apartment, which means that the front of the building is not so pretty these days (white cinderblocks). It won't impact your stay, but we wanted to be transparent about what you'll walk up to!
No smoking, absolutely no parties.
