Tamara is one of those rare persons you only meet once in your life, a truly self made woman. She imprints her character on the Magic City Farm, which it certainly is. The upstairs at the boathouse has special charm and my grand children put on a fabulous dance concert while we were there. We all fell in love with the huge black pig, the playful dogs the chummy cat, the beautiful garden and everyone working at the place had a friendly smile.
You could spend hours just watching the passing birds, peacocks and boaters on the canal, sadly interrupted by flotsam floating down from nearby communities.
I left some items behind and Tamara was kind enough to send them to me by mail. The toiletries are quality and although this is not a luxury place it is full of character and happy memories.
We spent our first couple of nights of our vacation in Miami on South Beach, but the boathouse was really what we needed. We spent four nights, I think. It was so tranquil and we adored all the animals. She's got herself a great little plot and when we walked around, the cottages didn't feel as close to one another as they seem in photos (something I was worried about before our arrival). The place was also spotless and we were able to save a little money and time by making some of our own meals in the boathouse kitchen. I can say that, without question, Tamara's place will be our go-to staycation spot if I end up in Miami for medical school. Fingers crossed!!
Give our love to the gregarious cat, Shortie, Wrinkie, Irwin, and Broken tail. <3
