Hi I'm Carmen,
I live in Dordrecht with my (9 year old) daughter and my 2 dogs. I work from home.
I have 1 room for you. The Monetroom (because there's a small painting from Monet in there)
I have a lovely house ideally located between the centre of Dordrecht (17 min by bike) and the Biesbosch (17 min by bike) a natural reserve area and I would like to share it more and at the same time meet interesting people from over the world.
You have your own room with enough space for you and your bags.
You can use the kitchen to make your own breakfast, lunch and dinner. You will have your own place in the kitchen to store your food and drinks.
Ofcourse I have WIFI.
The kitchen, the bathroom (old but doable) and the toilet are all shared. I have 2 very nice dogs (one sheppard and one small pincher) and one rescue dog who's waiting for a nice new home.
Interaction with Guests
I work from my livingroom from 9.00 am to 12.00 am and from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm. During those times I would like to have the livingroom to myself. These times are not that rigid but it's very important to me to be able to work alone and in peace and quite.
When I'm done working you're more than welcome to spend time with me/us in the livingroom. Up untill now the kitchentable has been a meetingplace to sit, talk, eat and work from.
We're located nearby Trainstation Dordrecht Zuid, a busstation and the highway to and from Rotterdam and Breda.
We've also have 3 different (food)shopping areas nearby. You can take one of my bikes if you'd like.
We're strategically located nearby Belgium, Germany, Utrecht and Rotterdam. Dordrecht also lies next to the Biesbosch, which is a very large natural reserve area which you can visit and even camp in.
No smoking in the house. No drinking in the house (except when it's really fun and my daughter isn't there). Please let me know when you intend to come home late in the evening during the week (I prefer it if you don't ;) ). I will leave my dogs downstairs or else my daughter will wake up when they bark when you get home.
Very nice stay with Carmen, Rose and Victor, clean, cosy room and made to feel right at home. The wifi was excellent and everything was in easy reach of the house. I especially loved being around the 3 gorgeous dogs. There are endless beautiful walks in the surrounding countryside.
If you arrive later at night I advise you take the longer walk in the description from the train station, and check (website hidden) maps first, as it's very dark along the short cut, there is also a lot of dog mess to step in and as stated the grass is really wet after rain.
Comfy bed, clean sheets, very friendly host! Great place and great value and I really liked Carmen's dogs. Easy to get to tourist spots and the bicycle helps too.
Prettig verblijf, voelt gewoon als thuiskomen! Carmen en haar dochter Roos zijn ontzettend aardig en gastvrij. Ik zou er zeker vaker willen komen!
Perfect location in terms of shopping and public transportation. The room is cozy and the bed is very comfortable. Carmen is an amazing host, very warm and caring, her daughter Roos is a real sweetheart and her doggies are absolutely adorable...... ;))) They will respect your privacy and have a chat with you whenever you feel like it.
Perfect scenery for peace and quiet loving people. Rural area all around, ideal place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
My name is Carmen and I'm a 35 year young mom in Dordrecht.
I have a lovely "dijkwoning", which is Dutch for a house on a dike. It's from 1931 so very authentic.
We're very nicely located near the trainstation Dordrecht Zuid and the highway to and from Rotterdam and Breda. From Dordrecht you can easily go to Belgium (Antwerp is 80 km) and Germany (180 km). The nearby big cities are Breda (35 km), Rotterdam (24 km) and The Hague (50 km).
Dordrecht is famous for The Biesbosch with its beavers and nesting sea eagles and a lot of other wildlife. You can explore The biesbosch by bike and canoe and you can also camp in the Biesbosch.
Dordrecht also has a lot of cultural aspects: historical harbours, the big church, Huis van Gijn (Van Gijn museum) and 1800 monuments. Dordrecht has won the Events price of The Netherlands for a couple of years in a row so you can do a lot here. And I am happy to help you on your way.
We have a big kitchen and you can make your own dinner. I also cook for myself and my daughter and if you wish you are more then welcome to join us. I can also set something aside which you can heat up later if you'de like.
In the mornings I bring my daughter to school and I'll be working at home and most of the time I'll be home as well in the evenings.
I have an extra bike for you to take if you'd like.
