This is a beautiful, cozy, corner studio on the fourth floor of an historic building in downtown New Haven. The location is ideal––opposite the Art School, adjacent to the stylish Study Hotel. Best of all, it's right next to the Yale Campus.
The apartment gets plenty of light, overlooks Yale's bell-towers, has hardwood floors, a full-size bed, comfy reading chair, snug kitchen, and custom closet for longer-term stays.
The neighborhood is my favorite part of New Haven. Take the elevator down to JoJo's cafe for a morning coffee. On the same block you'll find boutique shops, plenty of restaurants, theaters, galleries and museums.
What I love about this apartment is how quiet it is while being so centrally located. It's right next to shops and campus but when you get home you feel like you're in a sanctuary that's all yours.
Josh was very easy to communicate with. The apartment was as pictured - small but cosy and efficient with the space. Elevator to the 4th floor - handy! In a great location, walking distance to everything I needed. Jojos coffee shop downstairs also fantastic and very convenient. Only negatives, the internet is a 'guest wifi' of another network and only just about gets signal in one spot of the room, I ended up using my phone as a hotspot. Also if you need a place to be sparklingly clean..then this probably isn't for you.
The studio apartment is a block from Yale and its theater, and art gallery. The street offers quality grocer, restaurants and a wide range of international students and employees of the University.. An elevator to the 4th floor made for easy movement of luggage. The studio has plenty of space comfortable basic bed and large chair to read or access internet. Kitchen has all the amenities necessary to cook and sit for a meal. The bathroom is quite old and shower takes a moment to figure out as well as establish warm water to shower in. Not the best part of studio. The studio could use a thorough clean to perk it up a bit.
Joshua was easy to access for reservation and a couple of questions once I arrived in New Haven. His responses were timely and pleasant.
Overall the location and stay were wonderful and I would consider it again when visiting New Haven.
Really nice appartment in the very centre of New Haven - next to nice restaurants, shops and Yale. You really can reach everything by foot.
Although the radiator wouldn't work, Josh told us where to find his electric blanket to keep us warm and comfy for our stay. Thank you!
Josh was a great host and very helpful. The apartment is quite cozy and neat, and the location is stellar. It is within close walking distance from Yale and the hospital, and the apartment is very close to good restaurants, cafes, and shops. It's also quite close to the train station ($9 cab or 25 min walk). Overall great experience staying here.
Josh's cozy and convenient apartment was the perfect place to stay during a weekend visit to New Haven. And Josh was an excellent host--thoughtful and excellent in responding to communication. Thanks, Josh!
Great location and a cozy place! Being able to stay here made my weekend in New Haven truly wonderful.
Great stay, convenient location. Would definitely stay here again!
Great place to stay while visiting New Haven! I only stayed two nights, but really got to enjoy the wonderful neighborhood where Joshua's place is situated--so convenient to campus and Jojo's coffee was perfect both mornings.
Joshua's corner suite is very well located, has a historical charm, and is the ideal size for one or two visitors. I personally liked the vibrancy of the neighbourhood, with its busyness, and numerous shops and eateries. Jojo's cafe downstairs has indeed very good coffee and right down Park Street, I found a tasty little to-go Mexican place (La Cocinita). The trade-off of all this neighbourhood life, which don't get me wrong, I was happy to have, is that it does remain quite active (and maybe therefore a little noisy) throughout weekend nights. Regardless, I cannot agree more with the title of the suite, i.e. "cozy" is totally how I would describe the feel of the place. I spent several hours in the red corner chair reading a book or working while looking at the fall colours outside. I would definitely rebook the suite when in New Haven again.
Precisely what I needed and in a GREAT location! I spent two nights at this apartment over an October weekend. Josh made sure I had all the contacts and information i'd need to check in and get settled. The apartment (quite cozy, clean) is in a fairly busy part of the Yale community, but nights were pretty quiet. There are PLENTY of good eateries, coffee shops, and bookstores. I drove to New Haven and was concerned about on-street parking. It was no problem at all. This place is a definite recommend!
