The space

We have recently remodeled four wide rooms , all with private bath, hot water and air conditioned.
One room is only for two people with a queen bed, another one has queen bed and a single bed, and two rooms have queen bed and a two stairs bed, for an occupancy of four people.
we don't have TV sets and telephone in the rooms, but there is free Wi-Fi in the rooms and in the restaurant, Il Giardino en la Playa!!, that is facing the Ocean front.
The furniture are simple but functional, the bed of good quality and the cleaning and hygiene are absolutely of first importance for us, both for the rooms and for the preparation of our legendary recipes.
We are located at 100 metres East from the Public Pier, directly on the fine sand Beach, where sea turtles come to feed on the weeds of the bottom, and where is possible to watch a lot of sea bird and Dolphins.
In the Mangroves in the back of the Hotel lives a group of Capucine Monkeys that, often come to eat the fruit of the restaurant while Scarlet macaws come to feed on the Almond trees of the front , on the beach.
The bus stop is at 800-900 metres from us, the ferry boat from Golfito is docking at the Public pier, at 150 metres, and the road from S. Jose' is now almost perfect.
for staying of any length, is possible to study some kind of plan that include breakfast, lunch and dinner, in any combination, up to offer sandwiches made with our fresh made bread to the people that want to hike of do some sea tour, all things that we can help to organize directly, using our net or safe and professional collaborators, including too flights reservation and car renting.

Other things to note

In the last year we had some Guest ( probably the 2%) that reported issue with “ bugs”... as we clearly explain in our description, our rooms are facing a natural Mangrove Swamp , where many species of Birds, Monkeys, Crocodiles, Fish, Crabs, Snakes, and many other animals live their lives.... and often, offer to the Guests the possibility to catch great pictures of them, directly from the window or from the same bed.... so, we believe that a Person with a little knowledge of tropical environment, or at least some common sense, can easily understand that it is impossible to make a neat separation between “ good animals” and “ bad animals” ... we can’t spray with venoms the Mangrove Swamp for to kill flies, ants, termites, or any other “ bug”... and it is possible that some of these “ bad animals” will try to enter in the building, and even if we placed a mesh at the end of the internal corridor for to maintain the monkeys outside, sometime, some of them appear inside.... so, we are strongly inviting anybody that has some phobia for Insects, Monkeys, Birds, Snakes, Crocodiles, Fish, Raccoons, Parrots, etc. etc., to look for a less “ wild” accommodation.... we decided to live in a Natural place, in front of the Beach, with a Mangrove in the backyard, for to enjoy the contact with nature, and we are sharing our Home, with guests that are looking for the same thing, or, at least, understand the whole picture.....ah...and the Friday and Saturday night, there is a bar, at 300 metres from us, that play loud tropical music until late night....just in case coming here for to sleep early in the evening is the main interest......

The beds were horribly uncomfortable and the AC did not work, you had to leave it on all day if you wanted the room to be marginally cooler. Rooms also had an unpleasant odor. The staff was nice and the food was good but I would not recommend sleeping here.

Difficult to Understand what happened to Joshua.... he didn't said anything to me or to anybody of the stuff.... If you check the REVIEWS of Emanuelle and Rachel, two of the several guests that had been GUESTS in the SAME ROOM, in the same period of time, you will see that they had a very good experience ..."bed was incredibly comfortable! Best night sleep in (URL HIDDEN) beds, that have very good mattress, are not a problem, and the AC, as we always explain to our guests that sometime don't follow our guidelines and rules, is working fine, if you maintain the windows closed, and the bathroom door closed too, for to avoid that the cool air is going out from the window of the bath, that is always, for obvious reasons, open...... so, we don't know which were the expectations of Joshua, but it looks like he was looking for a five stars hotel, and we are a B&B...... and we think we are giving the best for the price we charge, breakfast ( appreciated by the Guest, at least) included.....

....you know...we are located in the most remote place of Costa Rica, with the highest biodiversity index in the world, whales swim at few hundred metres from our Beachfront Tables and from them is possible to see Sea Turtles feed on the algaes prairies of the bottom....we don't have yet any physical connection for phone or Internet...the signal is coming by a radio system from Golfito, on the other Coast of the Golfo (URL HIDDEN) some tolerance for the speed or the continuity of the Internet connection is just common sense, and common sense too is to close the bathroom door , where there is an always open window, if you want a quick and constant cooling of the room.....and, when in trouble, for absent WiFi or unsatisfactory AC or anything else, maybe, before to die, it would be better to communicate with the Captain.....maybe there is a solution....

We had a lovely stay here and absolutely loved the large floor to ceiling windows that looked out into the mangrove forest. Lots of wildlife here, the beach is right out the front door, and bed was incredibly comfortable! Best night sleep in days! Cecelia brought us wonderful ice smoothies shortly after we arrived after walking in sweaty and tired. She was very sweet. Highly recommend.

Place was fine - about as advertised. Nothing fancy, but you know that getting into it. Good for a night or two as you plan your trip to Osa. Restaurant was not good though - definitely avoid. They got our order wrong, and the quality was awful. Worst meal I had in Costa Rica. Hate to sa it, but it's true.

....no words....this guy is amazing!...he missed the arrival for the scheduled night because bad time management and we allow him and his friend to check in with one day of delay without any charge... and he didn't mention this not due availability from our side, but, yes, he suddenly become a connoisseur of the Italian Cuisine and start talking about the quality of our Restaurant Food!!!!...you can just check in the web what are the reviews we have as Il Giardino Restaurant in Puerto Jimenez, from the last 15 year, about the quality and style of our plates, and our legendary service.....but....much probably we fail for don't have any chips and hamburgers in the menu for to satisfy David taste....sorry!!

A clean and decent place to stay before and after you head out into Corcovado Park. Giulio and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I stayed here for two nights staggered by my hike to Sirena, so was very convenient to leave a bag here while I was gone. The restaurant looks great too, though unfortunately I didn't try the food. Conveniently located, 5 min walk from airport, 5-10 mins from the main town area and the big grocery store and smack in front on the beach.

We got a good stay at this host. The location is next to the beach and is good to visit the nature and beautiful beaches around Puerto Jiminez. Breakfast was basic, but enough. We got 2 awesome days at this place!

We stayed here two nights and it was exactly what we expected. Everyone who worked there was kind and welcoming and helped us whenever we needed it. The food at the restaurant was great too! I would definitely stay there again.
