We have carefully prepared everything for this great two bedroom and two bathroom beautiful property, (completely renovated in May 2010).
With a large bedroom on either side of the apartment (great privacy) the property features an extra large salon that has an open kitchen with an innovative high-counter eating/gathering space. All the rooms are air-conditioned, with individual controls for each bedroom or living room. There are extra large tall windows that allow in a generous amount of light and which all face out to the pedestrian street below. We have spared no expense in installing triple-paned windows, which provide excellent sound insulation and do block out most of the sounds from the pedestrian street below. Our first guests have reported that while they do hear some sounds of activity, it is tolerable and is not a problem for sleeping or relaxing. The windows can of course be kept closed at night as your apartment has air-conditioning.
Enjoy this most Parisian of flats, large enough to easily accommodate six adults. We are sure you will want to return to stay here again later on!
Paris is a wonderful place to have a good time.
The Neighborhood :
The flat is the heart of Left Bank Paris at its best…. nestled in between St. Germain and the Luxembourg Gardens. This spacious two bedroom and two bath apartment can easily accommodate up to six adults, with several bedding arrangement options: King or Queen size beds that can be requested to be split into four (4) separate twin size beds, plus the comfortable living room Queen size sofa-pull-out bed. How great to be right in the heart of Paris, surrounded by so many special places and the ease to saunter to so many major attractions, monuments and of course great restaurants! The famed Boulevard St. Germain is only a few minutes away, with the 19th century Artists’ haunts like Café Deux Magots (say Ma-go), and Café Flore, or you can visit the hauntingly beautiful St. Sulpice church - avid fans of the Da Vinci code will no doubt recognize this destination!. And within easy walking distance you have the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens for relaxing strolls and sun-soaking summer afternoons…

Some guests have reported that while they do hear some sounds of activity, it is tolerable and is not a problem for sleeping or relaxing. The windows can of course be kept closed at night as your apartment has air-conditioning. This is a lively area of Paris with many establishments staying open late, particularly during good weather. Light sleepers should be warned that it is not for them!
We will be very happy to answer any of your questions and to offer our best hospitality in Saint Germain des près.

Casa in posizione strategica e perfetta per due coppie! Due stanze e due bagni con privacy! Elisabeth molto gentile e accogliente! Via un po' rumorosa ma casa abbastanza insonorizzata!
We were a group of four women and stayed for 12 nights.
This apartment was perfect. The space in the living area was larger than we expected and worked very well. The location was fantastic with everything you could need very close by, including two metro stations. We can recommend the Vietnamese restaurant downstairs, and we often joined the crowds frequenting the bars in the street. The apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The double glazed windows worked very well for those nights we stayed in (the bar crowds are there 7 nights a week). Elisabeth always responded very promptly to my emails. The Airbnb experience was also easy and we felt confident in using this service. We would definitely stay here again.
Our family of 5 loved this apartment. It's as nice and elegant as in the photos. Fabulous location in heart of 6th arr., surrounded by an abundance of cafes, bistros, boutiques large and small... and a short walk to Luxembourg Gardens. Two Metro stops on different lines are a minute or two walk away (Mabillon, St. Germain des-Pres). There is a Monoprix grocery store and couple of pharmacies right in the neighborhood for supplies. Great central location if you like leisurely walks and want to explore Paris by walking. We walked from here to Notre Dame, Musee d'Orsay, the Louvre, the Marais...
Re: noise mentioned in other reviews, Elisabeth is right that it's not for light sleepers. We had great weather, did not need to use A/C and were not bothered by the noise, especially when windows were closed.
Elisabeth was away but very helpful and accommodating in online dealings. We arrived early on a red-eye flight and since there was no one staying in the apartment on day of our arrival, she had a nice friend meet us for early check-in. When we got to Gare du Nord station (an easy Metro ride away) to catch our Eurostar train to London, we realized we forgot passports in the apartment and Elisabeth had her son meet us straightaway at the apartment so we could retrieve them.
Highly recommend this place. Thanks for a lovely stay, Elisabeth!
We loved this apartment and loved the location. It was very clean and tastefully decorated. My husband and I stayed here with 3 teen-aged daughters and it was perfect. It's on a charming little street only a few blocks from the Seine (Pont Neuf) in one direction and the Luxembourg Gardens in the other direction. Check-in was easy and our host was very helpful. On a hot summer night with windows open, the bar scene was a bit noisy, but that's the only minor negative point.
Location. Location. Location. It can not be beat. Close to Metro lines, close to restaurants and bars, close to shopping, walking distance to many tourist sites. Perfect for a short stay in Paris. On top of that it's air conditioned, which is a huge plus on sweltering Parisian days. We would certainly stay here again.
Others have commented about the noise from the street. Let me put this in perspective. It would be a problem with the windows open, but closing the windows blocks 90% of the sound and only the very most sensitive will be bothered by what remains. Of course, this means that the air conditioning must be running even during days when the weather is pleasant enough to have the windows open.
We had a really nice stay in this apartment. Its in a great location and is very authentic. Elisabeth was there to meet us and was always responsive with communication. It has eveyrthing you would need including a washing machine. The only thing to note is the apartment is above what looks like a very quiet street but there are a number of restaurants and bars which can be a bit noisy at night particularly on weekends. Weekdays seemed fine.
The apartment's location is perfect. In the heart of the 6th Arr. on a street with no cars, but a wide range of pubs and bistros. The layout was perfect for our family of five and had all of the amenities we needed. Sleep sofa was as good as a bed. Elizabeth let us in and showed us where things were and how they worked. Perfect host. We would recommend this to anyone looking to spend several days in Paris living like a Parisian. A great experience all around.
As with other reviewers we found the place clean, well presented and in a convenient location. We only dealt with Elisabeth by phone but found her charming and helpful as was the lady that let us in to the apartment. The property is in an area of narrow streets full of bars and restaurants, which comes alive at about 20:30 and goes through to about 02:30 (we stayed tues to thurs night with the windows closed) the refuse collection comes round at about 06:00 picking up and smashing the empty bottles. If you are going to join the revellers then this should not be a concern but if like us you want a good nights sleep to pack in as much as you can during the day I would recommend another location. Elisabeth has some other properties which maybe more suitable. In summary the Airbnb process worked as expected, the apartment was above expectations but we should have read the reviews.
Elisabeth was a helpful and personable host who maintained prompt communication throughout the process.
The size and amenities of the apartment were well suited to our 5-person (and 3-generation) family party. The location near two Metro stops made it a convenient base for sight-seeing around the city, though many interesting things to do were well within walking distance. The neighborhood of Saint Germain is loaded with all kinds of eateries and shops (unfortunately for us, the famous pastry shop around the corner was closed during the week of our stay). Nearby fresh markets and the well-stocked Monoprix grocery store allowed us to do some self-catering, though the apartment kitchen is not well suited for ambitious meal preparation - like every holiday rental I've ever been in, there is not a sharp knife in the house.
The only real complaint that we had is that the tiny and charming Rue de Princesse is filled with bars that stay open very late. Between the warm weather and the holiday week (VE Day), the bars were very full and very loud every night. So many Parisians smoke and there were always crowds of smokers congregating outside the bars to the point where we had to close the windows. Even after closing time, several nights there were groups of revelers shouting in the street until nearly dawn. Bring ear plugs to enjoy this wonderful apartment!
