Bob and his wife are great host, I was comfortable during my staying in the apartment.
Very clean and well organized apartment with nice and clean backyard. Also, very helpful hosts, they guide us to good restaurants and shopping mall in Manhattan. I really recommend this apt for those who plan to stay in Manhattan upper west side.

The room was pretty nice!
2bedrooms were large, the kitchen was well equipped, especially the livingroom was special with a lot of sunshine and comfortable large sofa.
Bob was kind enough to advise me how to live in this area. He paid attention to my comfortable life in Washington heights.
There are a lot of Hispanic people in Washington heights, but I think it is not so dangerous.
20 minutes by subway-express to the central of Manhattan.
You can spend a comfortable NY life here!
Bob and his wife were super friendly and hospitable. Their home is absolutely beautiful with a wonderful yard. It was very comfortable. There is a great coffee shop in the neighborhood and some restaurants on Broadway that were fun. I also discovered a great restaurant/happy hour/place to sit and work on the computer called Amsterdam Social. It was further out of midtown than where I have stayed in the past, but if you get the express trains right, you can be deep into Brooklyn in less than an hour and Long Island City in a half hour. I was there for work and my coworkers and I found it to be a lovely place to work as well.
As a group of three, we recently stayed at Bob's apartment over an 11 day visit to NYC. Don't let it's location scare you off, while it may be further north of the 'main' Manhattan district, it is absolutely no hassle with the apartment located right on the blue subway line. We were absolutely thrilled on arrival, finding the apartment to be much bigger than we expected (even has a second bathroom!), in addition to a very modern, very lovely open living/kitchen/dining area that could comfortably seat six people. Despite the fact we did not meet Bob in person, he was a very accommodating host, and prompt with answering any questions we had. Upon visiting NYC again, would definitely consider Bob's apartment as a choice of accommodation again!
Bob place was just ok. Too expenvive for what you get. Not too clean, had to spend some time cleaning toaster, fridge, cubberd, bathroom and table before eating there. Mickowave was filthy and didnt work. Wifi stopped working for a couple of days. There was no AC as advertised, only fans in ceiling, wich did not do the job very well, specially at nigth it was hard to sleep because of the heat. And you couldnt open garden doors without being in the room because of 4 cats trying to get inside.
Also got woken up in the morning by his mom knocking on the door, wanting me to fill water for the csts.
Shared the place with a student, but couldnt lock my room because of broken key inside lock.
Advertised washer and dryer but got showned to lundromat across the street, untill a nabo in the building told me there was washer/dryer in basement. Lundromat would not be a problem, but then dont advertise you have it.
Bob was a bit difficult to get a hold of.
But best of all for me, No Bugs!!
People in neigherbourghood are nice and its close to subway.40 min to central park. So if you are planning on spending alot of time in the city this is ok.We had a very nice neighbourgh Gene who was super great. Overall it was just ok, too expencive, but only chose this as a last resort, since our originally host cancelled a month before our departure.
Be aware of guests like these. The reason they have posted this review with many false statements is because i refused to give them a $500 discount. If you are a host chances are they will ask you for a refund.
False statements; In my add a laundry is not advertised nor do i have one in the apartment, another false statement is that i advertise a microwave i don't use the microwave however there is a small toaster oven as well as a full chef's stove .
She also said that the place was not too clean, i use a professional service prior to every guest and she is not mentioning that here husband was living in the apartment for 2 weeks prior to her arrival and if anything was dirty is because of her husbands use.
I offered them to put up the AC in the window and her husband said that they don't need one, i even asked on two occasions.
The apartment is not a share usually, on this occasion there was another room being rented to another person but they were told up front and they got a deeply discounted rate.
That being said GOOD LUCK if you decide to host this person.
