Description

The Space

The bedroom is in the groundfloor by the kitchen. Window on street view level. Two bedside tables (one with lamp), one coffee table, one wardrobe. Not visible on the photos, but several spots on the wall with peeling paint. Thick inside curtain on door and window to keep the room isolated from the cold in winter and the heat in summer so it stays comfortable without any major devices. There is one ventilator and one radiator available, though, in case it just gets too warm or cold.
The house is small but comfortable enough.
There are three bedrooms, two bathrooms, one kitchen and a terrace which serves as a sunny lounge room. Also shaded area to cope with the heat of Marrakesh.

Guest Access

With the room comes access to internet, kitchen with fridge and washing machine, bathroom and sunny terrace with space to hang your clothes to dry.
The room comes also with towels and bedlinen, so you can use that space on your suitcase for something else.

Interaction with Guests

I like to go and meet the person at the square to walk them to house so as to show the way there, if my schedule allows (I am also a full time employee.) Otherwise, I will send a trusted friend to show you the way to the house.
In any case, I will come by the same day of your arrival or the following the latest.
It is ideal for independent travelers who still like to be able to have the insight of a local.

The Neighborhood

The Mouassine neighborhood is in the center of the medina and offers many activities. It is considered to be one of the safest and cleanest neighborhoods of the medina.
There are a lot of groceries, souvenirs and handicraft shops in the area, as well as restaurants and cafés for a wide range of budgets.
It is also known for hosting a range of picturesque arches and part of the souks, with plenty of great photography opportunities.

Getting Around

The house can be only reached by foot or motorbike or bycicle. The closest place to get a taxi is Bab Laqsour about 5 min away by foot. The square of Jema El Fna where you can get taxis and city buses is less than 10 min away. The closest bus station is at Bab Doukkala about 15 min away by foot.

Other Things to Note

There are no locks for the rooms, but it is possible to use one if you bring it with you. The only key is the one for the front door.

Living in Marrakech for over 5 years, I have extensive knowledge on the city and culture to help you make the best of your stay.
I still like the contrasts and contradictions, the fact that there is some order in the chaos. Moroccan people's smiles and helpfulness.
As a host, I like to meet my guests in person and give them a bunch of tips on how to best enjoy the city according to what their preferences are. A lot find that staying in my house adds another layer of interest to the experience.
