This furnished log cabin has its own fully stocked kitchen, 3 single bunks on the main floor and two singles and a queen size mattress in the 16ft by 24ft open loft. There is an efficient wood stove, a cupboard filled with herbs, spices, snacks, candles and propane for the stoves. There is a pretty lake just 5 minutes walk down a quiet country lane which is excellent for swimming, fishing and boating. In winter the cost of firewood is built into the price so there is no extra charge for fuel.

Richard’s cabin is a jewel in the middle of the nature. Located 15min drive from Baysville, an authentic town with one general store, one coffee/restaurant and several churches, your housing is accessible after 15min walk after leaving your car in front of Richard’s house. Back …

Response from Richard:
Gregory, his wife and sis-in-law were brave enough to face the elements during a particularly cold spell. One that managed to put the kibosh on many year end celebrations across Canada. Yet after a three night stint they emerged happy, rested and fuelled by fresh forest air and good clean exercise. They were punctual, respectfully clean and tidy, and despite the Argo crapping out in the cold weather, jolly for the short sled haul to the Cabin. All part of being in the wilderness really, all part of the adventure, I hope they come back again 5 star guests.

This is an amazing place in the forest. There’s no route on the (Hidden by Airbnb) map, which made us to learn to find the way by searching the markers on the tree. Lots of fun! There’s no light, many mosquitoes, difficult to take a regular shower though, we can sit beside fire a…

Response from Richard:
Sylvia and her friends were a joy to host. Very punctual, clean and tidy, respectful of the Cabin and made a super great effort to leave the place as they found it. I hope they come back again, the Cabin door will be open to them for sure. As for the mosquitoes they are currently about 10% of what they were during our wet spring and in a couple weeks there will be none at all.

Richard's cabin is a fantastic getaway in the woods. The cabin is fully stocked and offers an amazing location to chop your own wood, make your own fire, cook your own food, be free and connect with those that mean the most to you. Will be back during the winter to experience it …

Max and his charming young family were a pleasure to host, I think they all had a memorable adventure together at the Cabin. They really looked after the place. I hope to see them again when the snow flies.

The cabin is a surreal experience, and one that you will not easily forget! We had a blast wandering the forest and eating over a fire for a few days. My only complaint is I wish I had stayed for some additional days. Richard is a very interesting guy and was very helpful when we…

Some visit the Cabin for perfect peace and quiet, some visit for the rest and resuscitation and the clean air. Some come to de-stress and detox from technology. Pretty sure that Sam, Tatters, Steven and Brad came to explore, exercise and have an adventure. What I do know is that this group of friends were super clean and tidy and are welcome to come back whenever they wish. Really great bunch of guys who can have fun while treating their camp with respect. 5 star guests.

Sunil, Monika and Daman were perfect guests and new to the experience of living in a healthy forest. By the end of their visit they had fully embraced the spirit of the Cabin. I hope to see them again.

This is my sixth or seventh time staying at the cabin. We stayed from July 21st to July 23rd. If you are looking for a rustic cabin experience away from the city this is the real deal. We enjoyed relaxing around the fire pit, going for hikes in the massive forest surrounding t…

Response from Richard:
Dylan and Arianna made the trek to the Cabin once again, as usual they were amazing guests. I highly recommend these two, very respectful of the Cabin and the forest 5 star guests. There is a cell signal if your provider is either Bell, Rogers or Telus. I recommend you leave technology in the car though, everyone who visits says how nice it is to ditch it.

Richard was a great host, he was waiting for us on his quad, made us feel very welcome and gave great advice about the local area. A very real off the grid experience and the highlight of our holiday. We’d love to go back again.

Response from Richard:
David and his friends flew in from Ireland and headed straight up to the Cabin to start their Canadian adventure in the forest. They stayed for three nights and although I never really saw them for long they were very respectful of the Cabin and were clean and tidy. I wish them well for the rest of their journey.

Hi fellow nature lovers I own an authentic rustic log cabin on 100 acres of private land that backs onto 10,000 acres of prime wilderness in southern Ontario. There are no people just animals and forest, streams and lakes and pristine natural conditions. I am an artist, I paint …
