The Space

Our one bedroom suite is located on one of the prettiest, tree-lined streets in Vancouver in arguably the coolest neighborhood in town. We are three blocks from "The Drive" which is really ideal as you have all of the wonderful amenities of this fabulous community but are far enough away from the main street to feel tucked away into a little oasis within the city.

The living room is comfortable and welcoming with a cozy couch that pulls out into a double bed, if needed for additional guests. Additionally, there's a small stereo system that can play CDs and has an auxiliary input for iPods/smartphones.

The suite has a full kitchen with an electric range, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and all of the little odds and ends you'll need during your stay, e.g. coffeemaker, electric kettle, toaster oven, pots and pans, etc.

You'll pass the front-loading washer and dryer on your way to the bedroom. There is a queen-sized bed in a unique and romantic bed alcove in the bedroom with lots of comfy pillows and a shelf to put your book, water, etc.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • My husband and I spent 2 nights at Liberty and Chris's place and had a great time. The suite is immaculate, cozy, well equipped, private and quiet. There is so much to do in the area. Liberty was quick to respond to all emails and delightful to deal with overall. Check-in and check-out was a breeze. A most enjoyable experience.

  • I found Chris and Liberty's basement apartment to be well appointed, clean, comfortable, spacious, and ideally located off a quiet street close to all the action of Commercial Drive. If you have a car, you'll find free ample parking right out front too. Best of all, Chris and Liberty are super kind and helpful hosts, available for anything you need. They love animals and welcomed my 4 legged friends which I very much appreciated. If you want to stay in a cool neighborhood out of the downtown area, I would definitely recommend choosing their place.

  • Clean, warm, and comfortable basement apartment with plenty of space for 2 people. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure in the shower. Walking distance to Commercial Drive where you will find shopping and dining. Only a couple miles from downtown, south Main, and Chinatown. It felt like you could easily get any where in the city from this location. Quiet neighborhood with a lot of parks. We had our dog with us, so it was easy for us to take her on a walk or to play ball in the park. Overall a great place to stay in a great city!

  • Clean, private and well maintained unit close to the great restaurants and shops on Commercial Drive.

  • Our stay at Liberty & Chris' airbnb was very comfortable. They were readily available to give us our key and welcome us. The suite is immaculate with all amenities as described on their webpage and with clear instructions for everything. We very much enjoyed the privacy of this suite and it was spacious enough for us both. Its proximity to Commercial Drive makes it easy to do any shopping, banking, go to restaurants, etc. so we were able to walk rather than drive for much of our stay.
As well, we were particularly happy with how close it is to our destination for Christmas festivities this year!
We look forward to future stays at Chris & Liberty's place.

  • My traveling companion and I enjoyed our stay here. It was perfect for us as we explored Vancouver each day and came "home" to crash. Easy drive to city centre and a quick walk to Commercial Drive! Via Tevere Pizzeria is literally a minute walk and sooo tasty! We miss Amelie, the cat, who is super friendly and a purring machine. Very clean and spacious for two. Washer & dryer a great plus for us travelers! Liberty was very responsive and excellent host! Thank you.

  • Great place in a great neighborhood. Liberty was a super host and had lots of great recommendations for stuff to do while we were in town. I would recommend staying here for anyone going to vancouver.

  • We had a lovely stay with Chris and Liberty in September 2013. The apartment was clean and well equipped, the hosts were helpful and accommodating and let us leave our luggage at the apartment until late in the afternoon as they did not have anyone moving in on the same day. The location is good for those who prefer being a bit further away from the tourist area and see the city from the locals' perspective. The bus stop is only a few minutes walk and the bus service is frequent so we liked it that way. Marina and Ryan

  • Our stay in the apartment was great! Libety and Chris were great hosts; they are very friendly and helpful. The apartment was wonderful, like on the pictures. Everything you need you will find it there. A lot of shops and restaurants are around the apartment but the street is very quiet. It was a perfect stay in Vancouver. We would definitely come back and can really recommend the apartment

Event Planner/Bike Sales & Instruction
We live in a fun and lively neighborhood in beautiful Vancouver, B.C. with our two cats, Quetico and Amelie. Liberty is an event planner and works mainly on animal law events for some really cool non-profits. Chris works at a bike shop on the North Shore and also takes kids on mountain bike treks. He also helps Liberty with her events when he can! Liberty grew up in Vancouver and Toronto and Chris is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. We spent several years living in Sonoma County together but have been calling Vancouver home for over 7 years now. We both love to travel and try to get away for several little trips throughout the year. Apart from visiting family in the Bay Area and on Vancouver Island, we find ourselves in Portland, Seattle and New York as frequently as possible. We love to road-trip to explore different parts of B.C. and are particularly fond of wine tasting in Naramata (and Chris would add mountain biking throughout the interior). Mountain biking was, in fact, one of Chris’ top reasons for wanting to move to Vancouver! Whistler is one of our favorite summer destinations now that we live so close. We were recently in France visiting Liberty’s family and look forward to a future trip to South East Asia…it’s been on our list for years! We are both non-smokers, are meticulously tidy, and love relaxing at home (or homes-away-from home when traveling). Liberty enjoys hot yoga, hiking, cooking, and anything related to cats. Apart from the above-mentioned mountain biking, Chris enjoys playing guitar, movies and good noodles. We can also often be found at the theater (email hidden) concert or searching out vegetarian haunts in Vancouver or in our travels.
