Sellwood/Moreland is one of the premier neighborhoods in Portland, and the Sellwood Studio Apartment is in the heart of it. Voted the best family neighborhood by Portland Monthly Magazine, Sellwood/Moreland has it all. Westmoreland Park is within easy walking distance, as well as the Springwater Cooridor, Sellwood Park, Oaks Park, and Oaks Bottom wildlife refuge. I'll gladly point you in the direction of all the wonderful activities this neighborhood has to offer. But if you'd rather discover the neighborhood on your own, that's fine too.
There is a lockbox with key to get into the unit, and once you're settled in, if you have questions about what is around the neighborhood to do or see, just let me know.
Portland is known for its public transportation. It has some of the best in the country. Two bus lines are within one block away. The 19 will take you directly downtown, and it only takes about 10 minutes. Cost is about $2.40. It's a great deal!
Hello! This is a totally separate apartment with separate entrance in the back of the house. When you arrive you can access the keys to the apartment with the lockbox installed near the door to the unit. Just walk around the back, down the few steps and you'll see the entrance into the basement studio apartment. The combination will be provided after booking.
Pets are allowed. The pet fee is $10/day. I'd ask you help keep the home as clean as possible by drying off paws after being outside and keeping pets off furniture as much as possible. Thanks so much for your consideration!
Please remove shoes inside the apartment.
Enjoy your stay and the neighborhood! Go out for a drink or ice cream, watch a movie in or down the street at the Moreland Theater, and have fun.
Just let me know if you need anything or have any questions.
Peeking around the corner on the right is the entrance into the apartment. The entrance is located in the back of the house.
The space itself is beautiful and comfortable, and John's communication was great. There was a group of people in the unit above us, and although their noise level was in normal range, we could hear all their conversations, laughter, clinking forks on plates, and the floor creaked loudly right over our heads beginning at 6am from their footsteps.
All around great experience! The apartment was clean, comfortable, and well located. Check-in was seamless and host was kind, accommodating, and responsive.
I am a regular at John's properties as I travel to Portland on business almost every week. I am a picky business traveler and his properties and customer service never disappoint. All the amenities of a 4 star hotel with instant concierge service and no waiting in a hip neighborhood within walking distance of bars, restaurants, and shopping.
The location was great, and the studio was clean, cute and comfortable, plus the price was affordable. It felt well kept and modern. We could sometimes here the upstairs tenants, due to it being a basement apartment, but it didn't prevent us from falling asleep. It is within walking distance to some shops and restaurants. We had a great time exploring Portland and the Sellwood neighborhood. We would definitely stay here again!
I am a regular guest in John's airbnb properties and for good reason-they are well-appointed, clean, in great, hip, walkable neighborhoods, and John is very communicative but you don't have to interact with him in person unless you absolutely want to--he let's you make you feel like the place is your home.

About the Host, John
I grew up in Portland and feel fortunate to live in such a fantastic city and neighborhood, and I'm excited to share it with you. I'm a very active person and I enjoy all the great activities Portland has to offer, including skiing, snowboarding, surfing, biking, running, you name it. I would love to make recommendations about what to do during your stay here. There are many things very close by. You won't be disappointed with the accommodations or the activities that are available to you.
I've traveled to France, Germany, and Japan, and truly appreciate the diverse cultures around the world. I feel humbled when I travel because of all the warm and kind people I meet. I want your experience here in Portland to be great and I'll do what I can to help you enjoy your stay.
