Dilara's flat is great, the arrangements were as simple as could be, and the neighborhood is excellent. Thanks Dilara.
Great flat, exactly as described. It is in a really nice area of Beyoğlu and the food from Dilara's restaurant is delicious.
Dilara was also very pleasant to deal with.
Stayed at dilaras for 12 days and had a blast! Amazing neighborhood and apartment. Loved everything.
My sister and I stayed at Dilara's for a week and had an absolutely amazing time. The flat itself is really lovely and homey, as well as being in a very cool area of the city near loads of really great restaurants and bars. (Including Dilara's restaurant Dalti Maya - which you MUST go to. The food is phenomenal!) Dillara was incredibly helpful despite the fact she was all the way in New York and answered all our emails quickly and informatively. We were in Istanbul during the protests which we were a little nervous about, but Dilara was really reassuring and we felt very safe and happy in the flat and throughout the city. The only thing I would say is that the directions in the itinerary need to be reviewed, as it gives the wrong street number which was a bit confusing! But thank you so much for a wonderful stay Dilara:) I would recommend you to all my friends.
Positve : Location, Location, Location. Having lived in Istanbul for 3 years and knowing the traffic situation, the location in Cihangir is perfect. Close to Taksim means close to the Metro, the Tram and the ferries and of course just the lovely cafe's and restraunts in Cihangir are reason enough to stay. The apartment was clean and cosy with towels and sheets. Very nicely decorated. We unfortunately stayed while the protests were on so right in the middle of the action. We however always felt safe in Dilaras Studio. Kiosks and Supermarket are close by to get the necessary things and restaurants aplenty! The apartment is not quiet but that is Taksim and Cihangir. Enjoy the nightlife!!!
To improve : Bathroom door does not close 100% so dont stay there with someone with stomach issues :) Also directions need to be improved slightly. Restraunt to pick up the key is about 5 min by foot from the apartment itself. Do not go by the Red Numbers on the doors if you are looking for nr 6. Its the second blue door on the right when coming down the stairs on Akcadam Ysk from Cihangir Cad (opposite Otapark - carpark).
A lovely little apartment in a great setting. Dilara, thank you for allowing us to use it.
We notified Dilara that we would be arriving late (11:30pm) from the States, and asked her if this was ok. She stated that it was fine. The day of our departure she emailed and said that Violet her assistant was going to be out of town and she had an alternative contact for us who did not speak English, and suggested we have a translator (yup, really happened). In the end, her assistant didn't bother picking up the phone. Since we didn't have our US #, by the time we were able to reach Dilara, it was 1am- and she said that there was nothing she could do for us and gave us the street name of where to find a hostel and said she would reimburse us 50% of the hostel price (she offered this after being nonchalant and telling us that it wasn't her problem since we called her so late). Since this was our first time in Istanbul, we went to the cheapest, closest hotel and requested her to reimburse us and that we would begin staying with her the next day. She responded a full day later, ignoring the request and asking whether we were enjoying our stay at her place. Since we never heard back we were forced to find a hotel. She did not seem to care about the well-being of her patrons, and had a very nonchalant attitude through out our interactions with her. Although the price is reasonable, please do not risk going through the hassle of dealing with this apartment. Also, it is sooo difficult to find. Our cab driver had to ask 10 people in vein to find this place.
poor faisal, so sorry about your bad luck and karma! you even couldn't stay in my flat cause you showed up at 1.30 am while the checking time is between 12.00 and 23.30! ı wish you more luck, experience and open mind and yes thank you for advise, for futur unexperienced guest, better to print a (website hidden) map;) all the best!
It was really a nice location in a cool area of Istanbul.
In the beginning it was hard to find, due to the fact that the adress is i bit different than explained. With the help of two turkish guys we could find the place finally.
The apartment is small, cozy and clean. It is located in the first floor, so sometimes it was a bit noisy in the morning when people left the house.
We were a bit confused about the fact that it is not possible to close the door from the bathroom because it did not fit the door case.
All in all it was very nice to stay at the apartment and Istanbul is such an amazing city!
The eclectic decor makes the apartment feel like a home, and the location is convenient. Datli Maya, where you pick up the keys, is an interesting restaurant worth at least one visit during your stay. The apartment is relatively quiet at night. It would have been a perfect stay had I known that the plumbing is old and that I shouldn't put used toilet paper in the toilet but in the waste paper bin. Dilara's local representative was responsive and fixed the problem the next day, but it is no fun having sewage on the bathroom floor.
Our stay at Dilara's flat was perfect to discover this amazing city. The neighborough is nice and perfectly situated. We had little issues like toilets leak. Even if Dilara isn't in Istanbul, she deals with issues in briefs time. Something who could ne better: people who could host you because Dilara isn't in Istanbul. So you arrive ni her apartement without a welcoming way.
