I am offering a room for rent with a queen size bed in a clean furnished three bedroom one bath home with laundry room, and spacious kitchen/living room. The front door is usually left open for airflow, but can be closed and or locked upon request. There is also a furnished back patio for smokers or people who just want to cruise outside and enjoy Kauai's fresh air. The house is an older house. Also have a small hangout spot on the roof which is great for sunsets and starry nights. The neighborhood and house are typically quiet at night except for the sounds of the occasional farm animals, and passing cars. It is common friends and company to come by and visit. Guests are also welcome to have visitors. We like to keep a friendly and social enviroment. There are also friendly dogs, goats and pigs on the property behind the house. Old town Kapaa and bus stops are about 15 minute walk away. I have many ties with private hiking guides, horseback tours, photo tour guides, kayak guides, photographers, yoga instructors, tahitian dancers, belly dancers, fire dancers, kayak guides, zip-line tour guides and concierges who can help you get the most out of your Kauai experience.
bathroom, kitchen, living room, back patio, garage, yard, and roof for star gazing. (everything except my room)
Interaction with Guests
This is a place for friendly, easy going, low maintenance travelers. Typically I will see guest in the morning before they set out on adventures and I try to give them ideas and pointers on places to go and things to do. Then we see each other at night and share about the events of the day. Other interaction depends my schedule and your personality. If im available and a guest seems outgoing and wants to chat, have drinks, share meals, or go on an adventure, I love to experience new people. Sometimes guest, seem to want to be left to do their own thing, so I just be as accommodating as possible, and let them have their space.
Typically a quiet neighborhood just outside of town, so it has a rural feel but not secluded. I have one close neighbor, my long time friend Adam and his wife Elena who live next door. Many field of goats and cows. Many people use my road as a back road to get to and from work. So at certain hours traffic does pick up a little.
Bus stop is about a mile away. I also have an old bike that i loan out
Please just be kind, respectful, and use common sense. and take your shoes off before you come in. Nights on kauai can be quiet and sound travels easy, so be especially respectful of others who may be trying to sleep. mahalo!
Great spot on Kauai! Right in the middle of everything on the island which makes it easy and convenient to explore. Super comfortable bed and room had space for hanging and laying out clothes, etc. Evan is a great host, very knowledgeable about the island and things to do. Evan made sure I felt like I was at home and I would definitely stay there again when visiting Kauai!
Evan was great. We actually met him out in Kapaa before we actually went to his house, and had a great time hanging out with him. When we finally did go to his house it was extremely clean and nice. We slept in till about 10am and left leisurely at our own schedule. I would definitely recommend for anyone to stay with Evan.
Clean room and bathrooms, good price, excellent location, and friendly host. Although we didn't see Evan that much during our stay, he was very hospitable and easy to talk to. There was also convenient parking and incredibly fast and reliable wifi which was definitely a big plus. We would absolutely stay with Evan again and had a great experience at his place!
Evan and Jaclyn were really kind. They opened their home to us and allowed us to use all that they had. Even though the outside appeared busy (cars and car stuff), the house itself was clean and comfortable.
Evan was very helpful and knowledgeable about the island. He was also kind enough to invite me to a couple of parties. I was travelling with my mother and he was very kind to her as well. A great local Hawaiian place.
We really liked Evan's place. The room was nice and clean and We could use everything in the kitchen. Evan seems to know every part of the island and is great in giving advice about places and trails etc. We also met some other nice people / guests there and had a great time. If We ever go back to Kauai We would definitely stay there again.
Had a great time staying at Evan's. The house is well located and it's easy to get around the island from here. Evan is super friendly and welcoming. He gave great idea for things to do and has a good amount of gear to lend out as well. I'd definitely stay here again!
When I arrived Evan was not there but I find everything I need like in a description and in the massages that he send me. Evan was nice with me and give me a lot of advices about everything I could do. He explained me a lot of things about Kauai. Him and his girlfriend was really helpful. Even, his friend gave me a ride for my departure. It was really kind. The house was clean and I could use everything I want. It was really cool. I recommend this place a lot. It's well located, not too far too Kapa'a downtown.

Hi my name is Evan Haley. I am a 30 yr old mechanic. I like to hike, fish, hunt, dive, and surf. I am very easy going and friendly. I have a dog (outside) named charles who is very sweet and loving. We also have pet pigs and goats located on the property behind. I am very easy going, and live my life trying to work hard so I can play hard and experience life to the fullest especially here on Kauai. I have a lot of insider information about Kauai's sights and adventures that I would love to share!, and Ive even been known to play tour guide once and a while.
