About this listing
A two-minute walk to Paia Town, my little Maui pad is actually a 3-bedroom 2-bath home where my family and I live part time (note: we lock off one of the rooms so only 2 bedrooms and bathrooms are available). Paia is an eclectic and very fun and funky surfer town, a vibrant little community full of interesting boutiques and restaurants.
This house is my little dream beach home. With the help of an interior decorator I took a bunch furniture that I bought in Bali and added a bunch of contemporary touches to turn the house into a modern, clean, uncluttered environment in which to relax after a hard day at the beach.
We are a very short walk to the beach and only 10 minutes to the airport.
Beautiful, clean house on a quiet street 5 minutes walk from the center of Paia. We spent 2 weeks at Jody's; and enjoyed everything from the large bedrooms, 2 separate bathrooms, great living room (incl. separate dining room), and outdoor areas. Can highly recommend this! Thanks Jody
If you're looking for a place to stay in Maui look no further! I immediately felt at home when I arrived. It was the perfect home for my week stay and I'm so happy I got to live like a local in Paia. Very close to town and the area is full of culture plus wonderful beaches a few blocks away. I had a rental car to drive around the island and I was able to park in the driveway without any hastles.
The decor and space were just like the photos and I thought the washer & dryer were a huge plus! Very clean, well maintained, and comfortable home. Jody was very responsive over text for random questions.
Firstly, the host was ON IT... very prompt and thorough logisitics (which was crucial as we booked with only 24hr notice)...
... the location was absolutely ideal... right in the heart of Paia, but in a silent lil' cul-de-sac... we walked everywhere, including the beaches, and never took more than 10 minutes... the stores and restaurants are all 5 min walk...
... lastly, the house was new and clean... we loved our week-long stay!
It was just me and my girlfriend, so there was plenty of space... the outdoor seating area is only good for up to 4, I'd say... though, with the beach so close, we didn't hang out on the deck much beyond our morning coffee, anyway.
Jody and her home far exceeded our expectations (which were high!). Jody's communication leading up to our stay was excellent and friendly. We didn't have a single question unanswered before arriving. As is often my extensive experience seeing places found on the internet, photos often don't tell an honest story but Jody's home was exactly as pictured….such a relief as we walked in the door late night after a long travel day! Everything detailed in previous reviews is true….this home is perfection in decor, comfort, location and tranquility. The cul-de-sac is a bonus as very little traffic and therefore little street noise. You really couldn't get any closer to the town, which was our number 1 priority as we didn't want to rent a car. And we were two single girlfriends traveling and so having bedrooms/bathrooms on separate floors was nice. A truly 10/10 experience start to finish. There isn't one thing we could complain about! Will feel grateful if we are able to stay again.
Our stay at Jody's home was just as we had imagined. Adorable home, just a two minute walk away from town. As we arrived, we were enthusiastically welcomed and immediately felt right at home. The home was clean, comfortable and provided all the supplies we could have ever needed. Our favorite part of the home was the outdoor patio, situated among Jody's beautifully landscaped yard/garden. It was so very relaxing for our morning coffee and evening get together. Paia was full of amazing shops and delicious restaurants. Our only regret is not staying longer!!! I would recommend Jody's house to anyone for a lovely vacation.
This little house was such a delightful place to stay, and we cannot say enough about how delightful the town of Paia is. Why do folks stay in the big touristy areas when they can get off the (heavily beaten) trail and spend time in Paia?
Jody's house was a wonderful space. The decor is just as pictured and is very serene with dimmable lights, a lovely little outdoor space for morning coffee with your vacation reading, a comfortable bed, and a well-equipped kitchen. There are plenty of beach towels and chairs (we purchased another one and left it behind for the next guests), which make you feel like a local and allow you to avoid purchasing unneeded items.
A few recs for those visiting:
1. Enjoy this amazing little town- there are tons of great shops (we thought they were the best on the island), restaurants (we ate some version of a meal at the Fish Market nearly every day), and fantastic people watching.
2. Use the organic market! It's listed in Jody's handbook when you get there, but Mana Foods is great and is a 5 minute walk from the house. We stocked up on fresh veggies and fruit, eggs, etc. and ate most breakfasts in to save a few pennies- so wonderful.
3. Phuong is amazing. She lives next door and is your contact from booking until you leave. I can't say enough good things- quick to respond when needed, gives you a quick greeting and is very approachable, and also understands that you are are vacation and will likely unplug from the rest of the world a bit. She's wonderful.
All in all, we would stay here time and time again- such a great way to enjoy Maui!
Jody's place was perfect for my husband and I. It was just what we were looking for, and had everything we needed. The house was equipped with everything a tourist would need from guide books to beachtowels to snorkels to tuperware and coolers for picnics on the beach.
Paia was a perfect little town with cute shops, beautiful beaches, and some great restaurants. It's right on the edge of town so you can easily walk into town, especially nice when their are various happy hour spots ;) The house was clean and beautifully decorated. We were sad to leave and would stay again in a heartbeat.
