This is my second property, it's an extension from my first property.
This is a 3bedroom 1bathroom apartment.
It is pretty convenient close to grocery, restaurant, art store, Navy Yard, Pratt Institute.
My favorite spot is Dough on Franklin and Laffayette. It serves the most delicious donuts from 7am-7pm everyday.
All the cab services around the neighborhood know the building Taaffe Loft. It used to be a sewing factory back in the day. It makes sense that it is next to Pratt.
The building has not only one but 2 elevators, and laundry is in the basement. I will provide clean linens and laundry card as well as detergent.
There are 3 bedroom, one is mine, one is a private room for up to 2 people, and one is your shared room with 4beds. The maximum capacity is 7, meaning you will share the bathroom with 6-7 people. So if you are looking to make friends, this is the place.
It is on Classon stop on the G train and only 2 blocks away.
There are more than 5 bus lines around it to Williamsburg, downtown Brooklyn, Brooklyn Museum and etc.
I love cooking, and if someone is willing to chip in, I will be more than happy to have a dinner party on Friday nights.
Clean your dishes after your meal
Clean your hair after shower and shaving
I LOVED spending my vacation time at Homestel! I met very nice people and the place was also very cool, well located and easy to find! I strongly recommend if you wanna meet people and explore Brooklyn!
p.s: The view from the rooftop is amazing
I really liked staying at Homestel. I was a bit worried about sharing space with so many people, but as the ceiling is so high, you don't realize how many people are in the apartment. It is actually very comfortable. Also the neighborhood I was insecure about. I felt it was much better then expected. The police station is right around the corner, it does not get more safe :). Also there are beautiful streets with trees on the sides, parks, and I found a great running route to the Manhattan bridge and back. The cleanness of the apartment is pretty much depending on the people staying in the homestel. That point could be improved. In the mornings I made it to midtown in 30 minutes which is much better than expected. Getting home late requires more patience as the G train does not run that often after rush hours. I also had the pleasure of meeting great people. We were all in our 20's doing internships in the city, which made the community very easy to get along with. I loved it and would recommend it!
I had a great time staying at Hanna's apartment, although i didn't get to meet her as she was out of town the people staying there were pretty cool and the place was comfortable, not quite as clean as the pictures but well when you have 7 people sharing a 2 room aptmnt its pretty rare to see it that organized. Nonetheless i enjoyed brooklyn and i'd definitely recommend the homestel.
I enjoyed my experience. Hahn's place was described accurately, and her directions (for someone unfamiliar with NYC) were spot on. It was clean, close to the subway, and my fellow roomies couldn't have been cooler. There is a Police Station a stone's throw away and the neighborhood seems safe. In truth, this was a last minute travel decision for me, and I was just looking for a place to sleep and take a quick shower- without spending a fortune. Hahn's place fit the bill.
I really enjoyed my days in New York and it was very nice staying at Hannah's Homestel. The apartment is spacious and comfortable, and has a cozy atmosphere. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and the subway is very close. And Hannah and the other guests were really great! I would definitely recommend this place.

I moved to California after highschool in Vietnam.
Then I moved to New York after college in San Jose.
I want to become an entrepreneur, and work on opening my hostel in Brooklyn in the near future. It has been a year since I rent out my apartment on airbnb. I met many interesting people all around the world.
At this moment, I am in California, hoping to start my own food truck, and non-profit organization. My friend Stephanie who travels around the world with her silk in now in charge of my place.
We hope you will enjoy your stay with us.
