From my apartment you can venture out and take in all there is to enjoy in Silverlake without ever needing to drive. You'll be just up the street from some of the best bars, restaurants and shops in the area, and will have a cozy place to call home.
Come stay at my apartment in the heart of what Forbes just named the hippest place to live in the US!
You may ask yourself, "How is such an awesome apartment in an awesome area so affordable?" The answer is, as an avid traveller myself, I know how expensive it is, and I don't want to be another person inhibiting your ability to travel more. Through airbnb, I don't care to make a profit off of others, just cover my rent and not be wasteful while I'm traveling and my apartment sits vacant.
With that said...
During your stay, you'll be located 200 feet from Intelligentsia, and the rest of Sunset Junction.
The neighborhood is full of great shops and restaurants, including several vegetarian and vegan places, if that's your thing.
There are also many cool bars all within walking distance, so its a great place to hang out without having to worry about driving or taking a cab.
When I say walking distance, I mean LA walking distance, not NY walking distance, which can mean miles! We Angelenos don't walk anywhere, so you can rest assured that everything aforementioned is within two blocks!
The apartment is located in a 100 year old building, right across the street from the building where Bukowski lived when he wrote a lot of his famous works.
You'll have free reign of the apartment, which includes the use of my 100' projection set up, and vintage stereo equipment with plenty of records.
I've tried to create a place that is great to lay back and relax, but cool and fun for entertaining company.
The bedroom is small and basic, but the bed is amazingly comfortable. There's also room to hang up some clothing, if you need.
Between the queen bed, and the sofa/day bed in the living room, the apartment sleeps three.
The AC cranks out nice freezing air if you want it, which you will during your visit to LA. if you happen to show up at one of the rare cold times in LA, a space heater is available. If you think you'll need it, let Marianne know, and she will bring it right over. I just don't have a lot of room to store it there year round.
The kitchen has all the basics you'll need to prepare and serve meals, so you can make yourself right at home.
Although some of the amenities are older - I swear the stove was put in 100 years ago when they built the place - everything works great, and is kept professionally cleaned. The same can be said about the bathroom.
I have an extensive collection of vinyl, and several turntables for you to listen to it on, as long as you are careful with them.
The place also comes with a parking spot, which you know, if you are familiar with the area, is nearly worth the cost of rent alone.
The Red Line station is right down the street too, if you'll be reliant upon public transportation when visiting LA.
I recently ditched Time Warner and got a new, super duper internet connection, so the woes that some mentioned have been remedied. Hopefully you won't be spending all your time in Los Angeles sitting inside on the computer anyway.
Marianne will show you into the place, and will be available if you need anything.
Silverlake is a great neighbor to stay and play in, or to use as a hub to see Los Angeles.
I'm just off of Sunset Blvd so hopping on a bus is a 2 minute walk away.

We really enjoyed our stay! My wife and I have stayed here twice and the location is perfect! It is in walking distance to coffee shops, great breakfast locations and our favorite cheese and wine shop in Silver Lake. The owner is very gracious and easy to deal with and the location is always clean and comfortable.
Everything was perfect. Great location, just turn right at Sunset Blvd and you'll have a good number of great restaurants and nice shops.
I had a great weekend staying at Bryan's apartment. It was very comfortable and cozy, like I was staying a friend's place. The bed was very comfortable, Bryan also has an amazing record collection and a projector to watch movies, making it difficult to leave the apartment when you're feeling lazy. The location of this place is by far the best thing. It's located right off Sunset where you can stumble home from the bars at night and grab an amazing cup of coffee in the morning. There are also a whole bunch of great restaurants and a convenience store nearby. I will definitely stay here again.
Also, Marianne who showed us the place and gave us keys was so friendly and sweet and made everything super easy.
Brian's place was great. Perfect for design and vintage enthusiast like me! My husband and I had a fun time and couldn't have been more pleased with the location. We are certainly keeping it on our favorites list!
Perfect location right in the heart of Silverlake. The apartment is very charming and Bryan has a fantastic record collection. Close to Intelligentsia, Vacation Records, tons of restaurants and great bars and it was clean and comfy. Recommended.
Cedar and I loved Bryan's place. Marianne coordinated keys with us and getting there was no problem.
Although, we were in LA for work and didn't spend much time in the apartment or neighborhood, it was comfortable and the location was superb. We were pleased to be able to grab great coffee before work, but next time we would love to carve out more time to take advantage of the first rate restaurants, bars, cafes and shops in the neighborhood.
The wifi was a little spotty, but we had our phones and didn't use it much anyway.
If we had a concern, Bryan ensured that our stay was pleasant and that we were satisfied.
The best thing about Bryan's place is location. Right behind Stella's and a few numbers down from main shopping street in Silverlake. This is what we wanted and Bryan's apartment fit the bill. Plus it included parking which was perfect. We were in town for a family party and needed the fridge space, which we also found. Farmer's market 3 blocks away. The apartment is small but we really weren't in town to spend much time inside. We were 3 and I slept on the sofa which is very wide and comfortable (although the fridge is a little noisy when it revs up). The decor was cute & funky, lots of good books to peruse. My daughter arranged for the keys etc, and this went very easily.
The internet was a little spotty and sometimes slow, if this is important you may want to find out more.
This place is awesome! Two second walk to amazing coffee and a very nice restaurant/bar Bar Stella! The studio is comfortable, clean and has many amazing records to enjoy! I arrived really late my first night and was fully accommodated, with directions, keys and everything. The building is in such a great location and is quiet. I would love to stay here again on my next trip, hopefully much longer than 2 days!
It was a lovely stay. As long as you're not too loud you will get no trouble. The bed was incredibly comfy and the record player was my favorite. It's the perfect location if you like to go out. Plenty of night life in this area. Thanks again to the hosts for being so accommodating.
