About This Listing
From my apartment you can venture out and take in all there is to enjoy in Silverlake without ever needing to drive. You'll be just up the street from some of the best bars, restaurants and shops in the area, and will have a cozy place to call home.
Come stay at my apartment in the heart of what Forbes just named the hippest place to live in the US!
You may ask yourself, "How is such an awesome apartment in an awesome area so affordable?" The answer is, as an avid traveller myself, I know how expensive it is, and I don't want to be another person inhibiting your ability to travel more. Through airbnb, I don't care to make a profit off of others, just cover my rent and not be wasteful while I'm traveling and my apartment sits vacant.
With that said...
During your stay, you'll be located 500 feet from Intelligentsia, and the rest of Sunset Junction.
The neighborhood is full of great shops and restaurants, including several vegetarian and vegan places, if that's your thing.
There are also many cool bars all within walking distance, so its a great place to hang out without having to worry about driving or taking a cab.
When I say walking distance, I mean LA walking distance, not NY walking distance, which can mean miles! We Angelenos don't walk anywhere, so you can rest assured that everything aforementioned is within a few blocks!
The apartment is located in a 100 year old building, right across the street from the building where Bukowski lived when he wrote a lot of his famous works.
You'll have free reign of the apartment, which includes the use of my 100' projection set up, and vintage stereo equipment with plenty of records.
I've tried to create a place that is great to lay back and relax, but cool and fun for entertaining company.
The bedroom is small and basic, but the bed is amazingly comfortable. There's also room to hang up some clothing, if you need.
Between the queen bed, and the sofa/day bed in the living room, the apartment sleeps three.
The AC cranks out nice freezing air if you want it, which you will want during your visit to LA. if you happen to show up at one of the rare cold times in LA, a space heater is stored under the bed. Its unlikely you'll use it though.
The kitchen has all the basics you'll need to prepare and serve meals, so you can make yourself right at home.
Although some of the amenities are older - I swear the stove was put in 100 years ago when they built the place - everything works as it should, and is kept professionally cleaned. The same can be said about the bathroom. Chalk it all up to character.
I have an extensive collection of vinyl, and several turntables for you to listen to it on, as long as you are careful with them.
The place also comes with a parking spot, which you know, if you are familiar with the area, is nearly worth the cost of rent alone.
The Red Line station is right down the street too, if you'll be reliant upon public transportation when visiting LA.
I recently ditched Time Warner and got a new, super duper internet connection, so the woes that some mentioned have been remedied. Hopefully you won't be spending all your time in Los Angeles sitting inside on the computer anyway
Interaction with Guests
Zach will show you into the place, and will be available if you need anything.
Silverlake is a great neighbor to stay and play in, or to use as a hub to see Los Angeles.
I'm just off of Sunset Blvd so hopping on a bus is a 2 minute walk away.
Please be respectful of my things, and my neighbors sanity. The place is cool and laid-back, so no rowdy late nights.
Please don't smoke cigarettes in the apartment.
Please have a good time when you are staying at my place.
Right outside the door. Sunset Blvd at the bottom of my street. Peaking out from behind the tree on the lower right side of the frame, you can even see the sunset junction sign.

We had a really great time staying at Bryan's place. It looked just as pictured and was very comfortable. The location is pretty much as prime as it gets. Right in the heart of silverlake. It was also great having a parking space so I wasn't spending most of my trip looking for street parking.
My only complaint is that the bedroom had a pretty strong animal smell (cat?) that was kind of gross. It was worth putting up with since the rest of the apartment was so great. Thanks!
Brian's apartment is in a convenient and walkable area of Silverlake that offers many restaurants, bars, and interesting shops. The parking is off street and safe, as is access to both front and rear entrances.
The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is fine. The living room is small but adequate. The kitchen is very small and doesn't really have a full set of cookware. We missed having a coffee maker and could have also used a microwave. If you don't care too much about cooking in, this is a good place to stay while exploring the area. We slept well as the neighborhood is pretty calm and quiet.

The location is great if you're looking for a really trendy scene with bars, cafes, and shopping. Two friends and I stayed here, and everything was more or less as advertised. Great record collection, super comfy couch, hip decor. Worth noting: (1) the bed, though comfy, is actually in a closet—fits very snugly in between two walls, and (2) there's no microwave.
