*Ultra central but quiet canal view

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Oudezijds Voorburgwal, Amsterdam, North Holland 1012, Netherlands

The Space

This is pretty much where you want to stay if you want to see beautiful Amsterdam! The location is extremely central, yet on the part of the canal that the rest of your fellow tourists do not manage to find! You will absolutely love the evening view of the canal and will find yourself staring out the window for hours on end!

The apartment is perfect for a couple and doable for 3 people. It is on the top floor of a canal house, so you will need to be able to walk the stairs, but on the other hand, the view is BREATHTAKING! A peaceful and extremely central Amsterdam canal, right out your window!

Your apartment (your's because you get the place to yourself) has everything you need for a comfortable stay! Aside from a very large king sized bed, and a beautiful and "gezellig" sitting corner for reading or just gazing out the window, all of the amenities are there :

Modern kitchen (dishwasher, etc)
Cozy bathroom
Wifi
Iphone stereo connection
Coffee machine
...read on....

The apartment is very well lit by natural light (especially in the mornings) and features a modern and complete kitchen with refrigerator, microwave/oven, dishwasher, and stovetop – it is a very comfortable kitchen to cook in. There are four large supermarkets in the neighborhood (5 minute walk tops, every direction), lots of lunchcafes, 2 minutes from Amsterdams best shopping streets (Kalverstraat en Leidse straat), THE theatre street (The Nes), the Rembrandtplein and Leidseplein. There is also a large supermarket in the neighborhood, and of course, the famous Nieuwmarkt (market) is very close by.

In fact, everything is close by, as it doesn't get more central than this. If you rent a bike (I have an bike rental shop for you) then within 8 minutes riding, you are in the best city neighborhoods like the pijp, the jordaan, and of course, you are already in the most beautiful neighborhood, called just "the center"

And Walking, don't even get me started : Dam Square, Nieuwmarkt, Flower market, Red Light district, old churches, shopping streets in the jordaan and PC hooft, all sorts of museums (including Anne Frank, Rijksmuseum, van Gogh, Foam photo museum, etc) -- I could go on -- but trust me, you will stumble upon cool stuff in every direction as you walk out the front door.

You will have a 2012 Amsterdam guidebook at your disposal and I will be able to help with suggestions depending on what you like – as I will personally greet you and make sure that you can stay in touch with me throughout your stay.

PLEASE NOTE : If you need to check in to the apartment after 9PM, this is possible, but there is an additional cost of 25 Euros.

  • We had a wonderful stay in Amsterdam. The apartment was stylish and beautiful, with a great view! Fred was very communicative and helpful, and even arranged a car to pick us up at the airport and take us to the airport when we left. I would for sure go back, and also recommend friends and family, and everyone else to stay here.

  • The apartment was really nice, pretty much as it looks like on the pictures. The most important and amazing thing was the location - you litterally are in the centre of everything.
One thing I have to mention is the mildew on the bedroom's ceiling - but if you're not allergic it's no problem - it just doesn't look that nice. And the mattress is not the newest one.
Apart from these two minor points, I do recommend this place and would come back anytime when visiting Amsterdam.

  • A great stay, a superb view, and a perfect location : the appartment is indeed very quiet AND ultra central. Fred was very nice to speak with, available, and even comprehensive with our change of plans. We already want to come back !

  • This apartment is in a prime location! It is very close to the major Amsterdam attractions, Central Station and the nightlife.

It is bright, well furnished and has nice plants and decorations around the apartment. It's top floor location provides a beautiful view :)

Fred couldn't meet us on the day so his friend met us with the keys and it was all very simple and effortless.

The few down sides were the dirty bed sheets that weren't changed for our visit, the bed made a horrible noise every time you moved, the lights are controlled by a remote that didn't always work and the key is very fiddly so it can take a couple of minutes to get through the front door.. BUT none of these things were an overly big deal.

Great space and great value for money.

    Thanks Fred.
