Hello there.. I am renting a stylish and super comfy 1 bedroom apartment.. It is located near the Golden Gate park in the Richmond district of San Francisco. This is a great staging point and home base for those that want to explore this beautiful city. You can walk into the park or hop on an easy bus ride to downtown to check out the bright lights of the city. It's also close to the beach and the Golden Gate Bridge. This apartment is a relaxing escape from running around all day long. You'll have everything you'll need to have a great time in San Francisco. I have hosted several people in this apartment and they all have loved it!! The apartment is located in the lower level of a 3 story house. It has it's own entrance, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and living room.. It is recently remodeled with new appliances and is very clean and comfortable.
You will have access to the shared backyard and free laundry!!

We drove up to San Francisco for a whirlwind weekend getaway, and our stay couldn't have been more comfortable. The apartment had all the perks of staying in a hotel, but with the comfortable feeling of being at home. It was also a great location, especially for out-of-towners looking to see different parts of the city! The host was very conscientious of ensuring we had a satisfying visit and he was easy to get a hold of when we were faced with any questions. If we find ourselves in the city again, I'm sure this is the place we'll want to stay!
The place was absolutely perfect! Cutest decorations and the nicest host. Perfect size for 2-4 people and extremely comfortable. Drive is about 15 from downtown and the golden gate park is two blocks away! Tenants are upstairs but totally leave you alone to do your own thing. Great spot, definitely recommend!
We had a great time at MikaLs place. The apartment is exactly as described and cozy. Downtown is only a 25 minute bus drive away and the stop is right around the corner.
MikaL is a great communicator and left detailed information at his place.
Check in and out was totally easy.
We did not meet MikaL, but we found the keys easily and also were able to park our car out front, what a huge relief! He provided a great clean space, and an air mattress which was really great (so much better than the couch)! The space has all the things you might need to cook, and we found our selves very at home. The space is dark in the day time (ground level apartment) but there is a huge yard right out the door so you can eat outside and just hang out back there too! We love the area I used to live in that part of SF and it's great for adventuring around and close to many bus lines and the golden gate park as well! Thank you MikaL!!!!
MikaL' s place is awesome. It's very stylish and cozy. Location is very peaceful and transportation from there to around a city is easy. Everything with MikaL went very nice and simply. He's just a nice guy!
This was the perfect place for our stay in San Fran. Mikal was really accommodating, he popped by to show us around the flat the first day we were there and was easily available all week if we needed anything (even when we accidentally locked ourselves out at 01:30 in the morning!!) The flat itself is great, it is really comfortable to relax in after a hard days exploring and there are a few board games available which are cool to wind down with a glass of wine on the evening. The neighborhood is really relaxed, clean and quiet. There is plenty of street parking and the bus routes are a short walk away, these will connect you to anywhere you want to go in San Fran, we didn't have any problems. You can get travel passes which allow you to ride 90% of the buses and trams which is perfect, no driving! Generally we had a great time, Mikal was a great host with very few rules and a pleasure to meet. Will definitely stay again next time in SF and would advise anyone else to do so.
While we write this we are in the middle of resolving a dispute with the host, which is a real shame. The flat is a cosy and smart place in a great neighbourhood. It's incredibly close to Golden Gate Park and the Bridge with cafes and restaurants on Geary nearby. The host was friendly and greeted us on arrival.
Unfortunately, while in SF one of us had a cycling accident and busted their leg, as a result ended up leaving smears of blood on the bedsheet towards the end of the stay. The host asked us to pay $146 for a whole new set of sheets and mattress protector, which we did straight away, as a gesture of goodwill (even though this was not cheap, nor did we request he try to clean them first, or find a more reasonable alternative).
We considered the matter resolved until we received an unreasonably rude e-mail a week later demanding we pay a further $138 for a new duvet and blanket. The host had just noticed these had also been stained, implying it had been left deliberately and not reported to them - in fact, we hadn't noticed either. We were offended by this accusation, refused, and are now in a dispute process. The host has raised his request to $183.
The fact is that the host uses this flat as their primary residence and is likely to be sleeping in the flat whenever it is not let. The advert did not make this clear, nor that there would be any liabilities for what could otherwise be considered wear - and in our case were neither malicious nor deliberate, but an accident. The host did not set up a security deposit with a reasonable policy for such an incident.
Future guests should be aware of this and ensure that the right safeguards are in place so as to avoid conflicts arising from a lack of clarity.
