About This Listing
We encourage a very relaxed and welcoming environment here. We want you to feel like you are at home :) Please make full use our kitchen, laundry, and living spaces as if they were your own, and allow us to share our love for Puerto Rico with you!
You will have your own private room in this 2 bedroom apartment. It is located in Rincon, Puerto Rico 2 blocks from the Villa Cofresi in a quiet and safe neighborhood. You can walk to the beach in 3 minutes, there is an amazing grocery store across the street, and several great restaurants and bars within walking distance as well.
My girlfriend Frances and I are both artists, and are often working on projects around the apartment. We always have new art to display on the walls, and love creative endeavors. If you love art or music, don't hesitate to share it with us (and don't be afraid to play music anytime you want on the Bose radio in the living room!).
There is a full kitchen where we are often making breads, cheese, sauces and other foods from scratch. You have full access to the apartment and are encouraged to be comfortable and make yourself at home.
This includes free use of spices, oils, pots & pans, knives (they are very sharp!) and all the other kitchen toys. We keep the kitchen and the rest of the apartment clean and tidy at all times, which is extra important here in the tropics.
If you want info on any activities or help setting things up, my sister runs an activities booking website here in Rincon, so I can for sure help you out if you are trying to do tours or lessons or that sort of thing while you're here.
** I am currently making brie in the fridge, which uses penicilum bacterias, so probably don't want to stay here if you are allergic to penicillin**edit: brie is done *for now* I've moved on to beer :)
Edit2: Now there is blue, brie, and beer in the fridge
Please feel free to use the living room/kitchen, and the front and back balconies (which includes a laundry area with washing machine). In the apartment the only space that is off limits is my bedroom, but everything else is fine to use. Remember, we want you to feel completely comfortable while you are here as a special guest, and never to feel like you are intruding. If you stay here, we appreciate your visit!
Interaction with Guests
We are currently housesitting at a friends place so you might have the apartment to yourselves, or to share with another guest. Either way we will be around from time to time to take care of things, or sometimes work on projects.
Most of the time me and my girlfriend will be coming and going, out running errands, going fishing, or working on the tattoo studio and art gallery that we are opening in the plaza in Rincon (which takes a lot of our time lately!).
We are always more than happy to take the time to share tidbits of info and fun things to do around the island.
This neighborhood is very safe. We are on a short dead end street just off the main road in town, so there isn't much traffic. I know all my neighbors and they are very nice, considerate people.
There are small public shuttles that can help you get around Rincon if you don't have a rental car, as well as bicycle rentals a couple blocks away. Many of my past guests have stayed here without a rental car at all, and have had a great time, with the close proximity to so many convenient things nearby.
There is always ample street parking here, so don't worry about finding a place to park.
I just ask that you treat my apartment with respect as you would your own home. Abide by all laws and use the facilities at your own risk.
Well, to be honest we were a little underwhelmed by this place. Probably it's a good rule of thumb that you shouldn't be expecting too much from an airbnb for under 50 bucks, but unfortunately we let the excellent reviews fool ourselves. Not sure where these people stayed, but we didn't see the praised cleanliness of the place, especially the fridge and freezer were disgusting. Half of the balcony was full of junk as well as the hallway. The neighboorhood was safe, but close to a busy street and apart from one bar not much going on and not particularly pretty. Beach is about 5 minutes walk. We didn't meet Greg in Person, but communication went well. Wouldn't recommend staying here, I'm sure you can find a lot nicer places in Rincon for a few more bucks...
Well, I'm sorry if you didn't enjoy your stay. It is recommended to thoroughly read the description of a listing to get a good understanding of what to expect. Our apartment is a real space where people live, it's not a sterile empty hotel room, and we don't consider the art supplies, canvases, and paper in the hallway or the gardening supplies on the front porch to be "junk." Our freezer was in fact filled up at the time with stuff, and I did have several mason jars and a flask of brewing yeast in the fridge. While we were in communication during your stay, had you voiced any of these concerns I would have been more than happy to address them.
Our past reviews speak for themselves! They are all reviews from real travelers. :)
Greg was awesome. Even that we didn't meet personally he made everything possible giving us crystal clear instructions to get the apartment keys and find the place. Frances, his girlfriend was there when we arrive and gave us the keys to the apartment.
The apartment is close to Rincón downtown and just five minutes from the beach. It was really cozy and warm welcoming.
I'll definitely would stay again in his really nice apartment, if available, next time I'll travel to Rincón.
Great spot, awesome host, totally recommended. Thanks for everything Greg:)
Greg was really cool host,at the beginning we kept comunication if everything was going good. The experience wast really great. The place was more than I expect, good neighboorhood, clean and I had the all apt for me. It's near to beaches and some restaurants. It's more pretty, better than the pictures.
Greg was great. Though we never met in person, he made sure I had easy access to the keys. The place was in good shape and he provided a welcome package of fruit and a couple beers!
I had the apartment to myself and the room and bed was good.
Great location within walking distance to a few restaurants and a quick drive or bike ride into the town and area beaches.

About the Host, Greg
I recently moved here from Portland, Oregon to surf and soak up some warm weather. I am usually cooking food from scratch, and making cheeses, hot sauces, and beers. I'm a tattoo artist and painter, and I help my sister with her website. I will get along well with just about anyone, and all are welcome here. My beautiful and lovely girlfriend Frances is living here now as well, and we love having guests and are excited to host interesting people!
