Other Things to Note
Do not let dogs out of the courtyards. My dogs are Bassets bred for rabbit hunting. They will go on scent and get lost and they all three would go in different directions. They know to not go out of gate, but if you leave open and walk away they will go out.
Breakfast on the table by 8am latest. Earlier works better for me as I work from home and start at 8am. Quiet by 10pm, no smoking. Well behaved pets and children only. When using kitchen rinse dishes and put in dishwasher. Leave counters clean. You may use the refrigerator to store items. I have a clean, organized kitchen, keep it that way.
Bassets are not allowed outside the courtyard. Please be aware of dogs when going in and out the gate.
Ann was very warm and welcoming. She was friendly to both us adults and our 10 year old son. She volunteered helpful information for us about the area and things we might want to do. Her home is beautiful, and most things provide a great opportunity for conversation. Breakfast both days was scrumptious, healthy, and more than enough! Her yard is lovely to walk around in the early morning, and the accommodation and facilities are of good quality. This was our first airbnb experience, and if they're all like Ann, why stay anywhere else?
Ann was a warm, gracious, and interesting host. Her home is lovely, and she has three friendly Bassett Hounds. The bed was super comfortable, and the breakfasts were filing and yummy.
I was looking for a place that was fairly close to the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, and Ann's home was about a 15-minute drive.
If I return to Tucson, I'd definitely consider staying with Ann.
Our stay at Ann's place was everything we expected and more. Ann was a very welcoming, accommodating and gracious hostess, and a wonderful cook to boot. The home is filled with art and decorated with bold and beautiful colors. The bed was ultra-comfy and the layout of the house provided us with plenty of privacy. If we're ever in the area in the future, we would love to stay with Ann again.
As other guests have mentioned, my aunt and I also experienced tension based on miscommunication and an overall sense of not being genuinely welcome. On a positive note, the home is lovely, Ann's dogs are very sweet and the beds are extremely comfortable.
Saturday Arrival - Guests said arrival time late afternoon. Text messages sent over next few hours. arrival 7p...arrival 8p.. Arrived at 9pm. Disrespectful of my time and evening which I communicated to them. If they would have arrived as communicated and picked up the key I could have enjoyed my Saturday evening.
Ann is a fabulous host who went above and beyond to create a memorable time for me in her home. I stayed with Ann for 5 days and she happily accommodated me, all my art and camera gear plus let me fill her refrigerator with all my food goodies. Her home is spotless, the backyard a delight, and the location is quiet. If you like a great view of the mountains, Gila woodpeckers nesting in Saguaros, and going to sleep with the sound of coyotes howling in the distance you will love staying with Ann! I already have plans to return!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit at Ann's place. She is a gracious hostess and made us feel very welcome. The yummy breakfasts were a real bonus. Although the room we were in is a part of her house, it is well isolated from the rest of the house so we felt very comfortable. Ann has done a remarkable job with landscaping--the mornings were a great time for a casual stroll, coffee in one hand, binoculars in the other.
I have lived in the west for 30 years. I love Tucson. There is so much to see and do here. I work full time from my home. Yes the hot tub works, I love it in the early morning when the birds are singing the sun up.
