This is a 100% private room with Lock and key situated in the heart of Williamsburg. The room is at the front of my Art/Design studio that I share with my Mom. Inside your room is a kitchenette with microwave - fridge- Kettle - toaster. There is a 40 Inch flat screen TV with NETFLIX and WiFi and a fold down couch. My Mom has a living space towards the back of the studio which is a large distance from your room so you will feel quite private. I have two other Airbnb is this apartment. The bathroom has a shower and toilet and is shared with my mom and other guests. There is a golden retriever and siamese cat that live with my mom. They are very friendly but do not enter the shared space other than to exit for walks. We are 5 min walk to the Williamsburg Market and East River Ferry and 6 blocks down Bedford ave to the L train. 3 stops to Union Square. You are also 2 mins from the Williamsburg bridge which you can walk or ride across to the Lower East Side. Williamsburg has just been crowned the music and art capital of New York State. If you are younger than 40 and want to get a real taste of New York then this is where you need to be. I am an Australian who has been living here 2 years now and am often over seas which is when i rent out my place. As some one who came initially on a holiday myself I urge you to check this area out even if you don't stay with me.

It is adequate for sleeping 2 people, who plan on spending most of thiere time seeing the sites of New York, not hanging out in their room, Please don't expect a central park penthouse. As it is in the basement, there are no windows.

  • We had pleasant stay at Vincent's place. June was very helpful and welcoming. The room and the bathroom were spotless. If you're looking for a place to sleep I would hardly recommend staying there.

  • We loved staying in Williamsburg - within 20 minutes on the Metro you are in the heart of Manhattan. Williamsburg itself is a great area filled with great cafés, bars, restaurants and boutique shops. Please go visit Nitehawk cinema and Videology - two experiences I don't think you will get anywhere else.

June was a lovely host. The space itself is tiny, and what you see is what you get - but if you're doing NY on a budget you'd be hard pressed to find a better price.

  • I had a wonderful stay during my trip. The location is awesome. Plenty of restaurants and cafes along Bedford Ave and some great cafes around Driggs Ave & 7th Street N. The Williamsburg Flea Market is a few blocks away and the Bedford Ave train station is about 11 min walk. Stumbled in many great restaurants just by walking around the area. I would stay the quality of restaurants around the area are plentyful. June is wonderfully considerate and nice host. She called me right after I landed with tips on how to get to the apartment and also help make arrangements for us to the airport. The taxis ride from the apartment to Newark is roughly 60 - 65. The toll amount is about $13 on top of the ride. The accommodations are what you expect for the price, but June does provide a Roku for guest to watch movies and listen to music. The futon is from Ikea and doesn't have any support. After a week, I was excited to sleep on a bed with back support, but for the price your paying it's worth it. I would fully recommend staying with June, she's the BEST!!!!

  • The host is awesome. Place is tidy and very cosy. No windows however, and some distance to the nearest train station. If you intend to spend all your time outside exploring NYC and just need somewhere to sleep, this is the perfect place. Also very close to Manhattan and the hipster places.

  • You can't do much better than this for the price. June is very nice and helpful and the location is great, just one subway stop from Manhattan. The walk to the subway station is about 11 blocks. The room is small but has room enough for basic belongings. The bed is not amazing or terrible. The room does not have very good ventilation. We ended up leaving the door ajar when we slept to cool the room off. This being said, I would definitely stay here again.

  • We had great few days staying with June in New York.
June was very helpful and reliable. Everything worked out perfectly.
The accommodation is located very central and convenient.
The room is small, but it has everything you need and it's very cheap.

About
I (Vincent) am a UK born Australian fashion designer who lives between NYC and London. Had a past life as a professional dancer & actor. Love Kite Surfing and Glitch Hop. Alice is a born and bred Melbournian, a professional dancer, with a love of graphic design. June is my mum, from the North of England, who migrated to Perth Western Australia when i was young. She was a costume designer and now an artist living in Brooklyn. We are all Vegetarians, don't smoke and are not big drinkers but love to have fun. We have travelled a lot together and believe it's all about the journey, not the destination. I like to get lost and discover things off the beaten track.
