If it's an authentic New York experience you're looking for, you've found it. Located in the heart of the East Village of Manhattan, this one bedroom apartment is as cool as the city and as cozy as the country. Perfect for couples or singles. Not suitable for families. East & west facing windows wash the place in lots of morning and afternoon light, flat screen tv, xbox, cable, internet, queen size tempurpedic bed (with memory foam mattress!), laundry/dry cleaners on ground floor, kitchen, full bath. I collect early American antiques which impart a country charm to this small yet beautiful city apartment. 10-15 minute walk to the F train; 15-20 minutes to N/R & 6 lines. Historic Tompkins Square Park is 3 blocks away and anchors the colorful diversity of the neighborhood. The East Village abounds with a bar and cafe culture unmatched in other parts of Manhattan. If you were to throw a stone from my roof the arch of it's trajectory would pass no less than several upscale restaurants and downscale dive bars. The only neighborhood in New York!
Everything you will need is provided. Towels, linens, toiletries, umbrellas if it rains, video games, movies, books (but why read when there's so much to do?) etc. All you have to do is show up.
Apartment is on the 6th floor of an old tenement building. No elevator. The stairs are no joke. If you bring lots of luggage you're in for a challenge. You wanted an authentic New York experience right? You'll have the best legs south of 14th St. when you leave!
Weekends can be noisy. That's what happens when you're surrounded by cool bars and fantastic restaurants.
1. Make yourself at home.
2. Enjoy yourself.
3. Leave the place as you found it.

I recently stayed at Xiren's apartment with my girlfriend and we loved the place and location! The apartment looks exactly like the pictures. It is in the perfect area, with easy access to the subway. I would reccomend this place to anyone!
My boyfriend and I stayed here over new year - firstly the apartment was much cheaper than hotels and this apartment had great reviews so we decided to stay.
The apartment is wonderful. It is small however does not feel cramped at all and contains lots of quirky decorations.
East village is a great area as it contains lots of lovely restaurants and bars. Xiren gave us a list of places to get good coffee, brunch etc before we came aswell. It is easy to get about with two tube stations close to the apartment.
As hosts Xiren and Corey were excellent and very helpful. They were easy to get hold of during the holiday and any problems we had they would sort out very quickly.
We couldn't recommend staying here more. Definately will try to stay here next time we are in NYC.
Very great experience in the east village! Xiren was a extremely hospitable host. Definitely recommend
Xiren was incredibly helpful both before and throughout our stay; checking in and out was extremely straightforward and the apartment was exactly as described. We didn't have a huge amount of time to explore the neighbourhood itself but it was easy to explore all parts of Manhattan from it. The flat was warm but the heating pipes were very noisy so we found it better to turn on the heating during the day when we were out and then off at night. We had a wonderful trip and can't wait to come back!
Just want to say a massive thank you to Xiren for letting us use her place. It was a really cosy place with heaps of personal character, it was exactly as she described it. We were there in December so plenty cold outside but toasty warm inside, and you warm up going up the stairs! :) In a cool, quirky area with loads of options for food/drinks and only a few blocks from a really useful subway line.
Key pick up and drop off was very and easy and Xiren gave us some tips of places to eat/drink/check out etc. Had no trouble contacting her - always answered questions quickly, especially while we were out there.
Very happy to recommend her pad
Everything was perfect. Great location and a very warm and cozy place. Xiren was a great host, always ready to fulfill any of our needs.
Chinese born Canadian. Raised in England, studied in France and lived a nomadic life across 28 countries before making New York my home. Love the city. Love to leave it but always love coming home. Come for a visit. I'm here to help!
