Centrally located in the charming community of Charlestown, a few minutes from our son’s apartment, the Nautical Room was a good choice for us. Christiane is a delightful host who is proud of her Boston background, very knowable about the city and always ready to help you with advice, museum tickets, etc. As you would expect with a home built in the 1800’s, the rooms are small, but certainly serviceable, and decorated with an interesting collection of antiques and other memorabilia. Our king size bed was quite comfortable, and while the bathroom is small, the instant heater and rain shower head are wonderful. A good value for staying in the Boston area.
Christiane was accommodating, helpful and chatty. I was working so it was difficult to make the strict 830 breakfast slot, but Christiane did her best to accommodate. As a Boston representative Christiane was very knowledgable and helpful, particularly with regards to the museums. Lastly, the room itself was large and nicely decorated, the bed was fantastically comfortable, and the shower and bathroom were great. Would recommend.
thank you for your kind words. just curious-i thought i was very accommodating with an earlier breakfast time just to accommodate you. breakfast is complimentary, as stated on the website and i personally explained. i do not do a buffet or continental breakfast, but 3 courses and therefore need to be present to make it.
it was a pleasure to have you--anyone's ideal guest.
The bed was comfortable and the location was great. The room was also surprisingly very quiet. The room needed a good dusting and the bathroom was not the cleanest but the host had just had eye surgery the day before we arrived as well as car and computer drama so it might not have been her best week. The linens were clean and the breakfast well-presented.
sorry things were not up to snuff. unfortunately, as i noted on your arrival i was overwhelmed with unforseen circumstances--especially having to get a new car after a major breakdown. i did enjoy having you and hope the rest of the visit was pleasant and enjoyable.
Very nice, clean room that was well located. Christiane was a very friendly and attentive host. She gave us very good dinner ideas and had tips for plenty of activities.
My son, on crutches, and I needed to be in Boston for a week - work for me and looking for work and networking for him. We were able to book a stay at the Bunker Hill B&B at the last minute. Christiane was an excellent hostess; the Nautical Room compact, yet completely adequate for our needs. It was quite easy to get in and out of downtown using the bus system.
