Calm, comfortable room in the back half of a separated duplex on a quiet street with your own renovated bathroom and shower area. Access to a new washer and dryer and cozy backyard deck with hammock and plenty of shade.
The house has an open floor plan with lots of light and access to a fridge and updated cooking area.
A few blocks from South Lamar with access to central bus lines running to downtown and the University of Texas. Walking access to cafes, restaurants, bars and shops (walk score=74). Five minutes from the legendary south Austin taco eatery, Maria's. (Click the MAPS tab above the photos to see list of great nearby attractions.)
The arched living room creates a feeling of openness and space, and getting a good night's sleep is easy with little surrounding traffic noise. It feels like you're out in the suburbs, holed away in this quiet neighborhood, despite being so close to everything central (~3 miles to downtown; ~2 to Barton Spring Rd).
Because it's a quiet neighborhood and other houses are nearby, we assume no excessive late-night noise and respect to our friends and neighbors.
This was our first Airbnb experience & Max has set the bar high, like really high! His home is clean & welcoming. He even had snacks waiting for us when we arrived. His home was a respite from our busy days. Max is kind, helpful, and made him self available for questions. If you visit Austin, stay with Max.
Exactly as described, and a perfect fit to our need! Max was a most gracious host, even greeting us at the door when our flight was delayed. We were in and out for several days as we were attending the 2015 Moto GP at the Circuit of the Americas track but we felt as if we were welcome friends staying for the week-end. The room had its own private bath which made it all the more comfortable especially with the notable touches Max left for us. The location was just 12 minutes from the airport , 10 from downtown and 20 to the track. It was a great trip and a wonderful first experience with AIR BNB, thanks Max!
If you are a couple or are traveling by yourself, I highly recommend staying with Max. His house is quiet, located in a great neighborhood, and only 5-10 minutes outside downtown Austin if you're driving. It was a great place to come home to at the end of the day during SXSW.
Great guy, stayed up until 2 am to make sure I arrive safe. Very clean place And quite!!!
This was my first time staying with airBnB for a work trip. My overall experience was Very good! I didn't get to meet Max till the moment I was leaving out the door but he seemed like a genuinely nice guy. The room was very clean and the list of places he set out on the table to try were great!
Perfect! Max was welcoming and accommodating -- everything I could ask for as a first time airbnb user. Likewise, the room and house were warm and comfortable -- and the hammock! I hope "my room" is open the next time I'm in Austin.
This was our first Air BnB stay, and Max has now set the bar high! Max was a great host-- he had set out information on transportation, nearby food/drink options, and some recommendations for Austin's top spots. His place was clean, cozy & close to S Lamar & S Congress hot spots, while still being tucked away enough to enjoy some R&R. We were all in & out throughout the week, but it was fun catching up when we were all around. The were fresh linens & some basic snacks (crackers & coffee) set out for us, which was a lifesaver after a horrendous day of travel. Even as our itinerary changed on the fly, Max was a gracious host. A highly recommended place & host!
I'm a product manager at a research firm in downtown Austin. I've lived in the area about 15 years. I've got a lot of really supportive and wonderful friends and family members around the country, and I write plays and run races in my spare time.
