We didn't get to meet either David or Carole, but communications with them were very smooth and easy. And Carole's mum was very sweet to help us check in a bit earlier so we didn't have to stand around with all our luggage. The place was a bit smaller than it looks in the photos, but I guess it's a fairly standard size for HK. It was all really clean and had everything we needed for a few nights. Plus the location was perfect. Close enough to Nathan Rd but not right in the middle of it. All in all, we had a great stay.
We had a great stay at David & Carole's place. Perfect for our needs. Convenient location, lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. One thing to take note, if you are sensitive to cigarette smoke, know that when someone smoked in one of the other rooms, the smoke would come into our room. But that's no fault of the hosts. Thanks for a great stay!
The apartment was very clean and David had very nicely arranged to have a fridge for us in the apartment. The apartment had everything that U need to stay in for a week. Carole's mom picked us up and it was really nice of her to show us round the neighborhood. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone! However I do have to caution light sleepers as the apartment is on the 3rd floor and as there's a pub downstairs . It's slightly noisy but convenient if u just wan a drink downstairs.
The space is super clean and tidy. There are 4 separate studio units within the apartment unit. We were surprise that it was very quiet though we could tell at least two other units were occupied. We enjoyed the privacy and appreciated all the basic supplies for bathroom and for the cooking needs. There even has a laundry machine! David & Carol also arranged delivery of a small fridge at the second day we arrived. Well thought. Great location.
The only problem...was: to find the location as address not clear and communication not so smooth. We waited at the door for more than half an hour. Other than this small part, we like the place. Thanks very much David and Carol. -GL
It was great very clean and so new The aparment was well located David and carole were so helpul in all that We needed good place for a couple in hong kong.
Apartamento limpio moderno cerca al MTR , cómodo para una pareja , lo único q le falta es un frigobar después todo súper fácil de llegar, de tomar taxi , todo lo tienes a la mano , queda en un tercer piso sin ascensor . Gracias
General Impression & Communication
We had a wonderful stay in this small but cosy apartment for 2 weeks. We followed the instructions David & Carol left for us and got to Jordan station, where we then called Carol and followed her instructions and found the place without too much drama. We didn't contact Carol too much, but she was very nice and easy to talk to when we contacted her.
If you decides to walk from Jordan station, just keep in mind the footpath is not that wide. So it won't be a good idea for you to carry lots of large heavy luggage. Otherwise, it's very close to Jordan station, and there are plenty of taxi down the street. It's also 15 min taxi drive away from Kowloon Station. So if you want to check-in your luggage in town, it'll be very easy convenient.
Like many apartments in HK, the place is really small but clean. It has all the essentials like a bed, WIFI & hot water and that's really all you need. The shower head doesn't work very well, but it was still a very pleasant stay. Carol also provides you with bath towels and slippers.
There are three 7 Elevens nearby, TST is only 10 mins walk away and it's close proximity to shops and restaurant. Last time I was in HK I stayed at North Point (HK island) and by comparison, staying at this apartment was WAY more convenient. There are 2 laundromats nearby and they are very cheap (even though there is a washing machine in the apartment, getting it washed when you're doing the shopping is much easier) and open until 8pm I think.
I would recommend this apartment to people who plan to go to HK for a short period of time and want to stay somewhere that's close to everything. We will book here again when we come back to HK.
David and Carole were such great hosts! The apartment is small but cozy and very clean and has all the amenities you need for a stay in Hong Kong. The location is convenient (around the corner from Jordon station), the AC and wifi work well, and the shower has great pressure. We are definitely bookmarking this place for our next visit to Hong Kong!
My second stay at Dave & Carole's Austin Ave studio was just as great as my first. Dave & Carole remain incredibly gracious and accommodating, and the studio is super clean and fantastically located in the Jordan neighborhood within Kowloon. I hope to be back again!
The apartment was at a really good location and close to transport. Austin Ave is full of Korean Restaurants and they seemed all very nice.
The down side of the apartment was there was no fridge, which made it difficult to make a cup of tea in the morning or store some beer in the fridge!!
Otherwise the bed was comfortable and it was sufficient for a 7 day stay.
