The first experience of airbnb was a very good choice i am glad to say. Selma is a Bosnian magician whom can solve every problem in a short trip; she arranged the transfer from the airport to the apartment, a rent car for a very good price, gave advice for about everything about Sarajevo, Mostar and the road between. The apartment is almost as in the pics. Water problem wasn't an actual problem for us; because it didn't interfere the times we actually live. The flat is just near the cathedral, surrounded by buregdinica (there is not much difference between the famous ones and our neighbor:)) , bakery, market and a local bazaar. The shower is a bit tricky, but selma will show you the way to use it. Before the arrival, we all considered about heating but as it was warranted by Selma it was very warm. Even we were in Sarajevo during the civil protests and there was no one staying in the apartment except us we had no security concerns. Local tastes in Bosnia are similar to Turkish ones; but i strongly recommend for couples to have a romantic dinner in '4 sobe gospode safije'; you will love it.
Thanks a lot Selma for the experience!!
The apartment was really nice, very well decorated, clean and cosy. Furthermore Selma really advised as good about the city and she even helped us renting a cheap and good car via one of her contacts. Selma is the best! the appartment is the best! and Sarajevo is the best!!
Selma's apartment is very nice, clean, spacious and comfortable. We (group of 6 young people) spent few days in Sarajevo to enjoy New Year's holidays. We were surprised with the apartment's location because of its nearness of old town and another culture attractions in Sarajevo. Close to apartment is anything you need: market, shops, bakery. Selma was very nice and was helpful at any time! I strongly recommend this apartment because of its location, interior and service!
Lovely place, great location and a great host.
We can warmly recommend the place to anyone.
Selma was so helpful, communicative and very friendly. I am so sad that I couldn't go that trip and meet her but my husband and friends were so glad to stay in Selma's house. Hopefully I will be visiting Sarajevo in the future and definetly will stay in Selma's house.
We had a perfect stay in Selmas apartment in Sarajevo. Everything was as expected and Selma was very helpful and nice. The apartment is perfect, with walking distance to everything you would want to see or eat.
Sarajevo was maybe the the biggest surprise of our six weeks touring Eastern/Central Europe, and in a positive way. Lots to see and do, and Markale 2's location meant that just about everything was in walking distance. Despite its proximity to the old town and downtown, it is oriented such that it is very quiet at night. We loved having the space of 3 bedrooms: one we slept in, another we used as a dressing room, and the third went unused by us. The kitchen and dining area is nice and bright, and the living room comfortable.
Good, fast wi-fi enabled us to watch Netflix at night.
Selma is a wonderful, attentive host. She took her time checking us in, answering all our questions, and orienting us to the apartment as well as some of the town' sights and restaurants. She also made some delicious Bosnian coffee for us. Selma arranged for our transfer to the airport and came to check us out a few minutes before departure. We were I impressed that she asked how the apartment could be improved, and was sincerely interested in our comments... Which were too minor to repeat here.
The apartment was, in our opinion, a good deal for us, as a couple. A family or two, even three, couples would find it an even better deal. Highly recommended.
We recently stayed for four nights in Sarajevo and we couldn't have asked to stay in a better location. The apartment was immaculate and modern. The beds were comfortable. While we didn't use the kitchen to make meals, the amenities provided are wonderful. The ad says you don't have water between 12am and 6am, but it was never an issue. It's a city-wide issue (times change depending where you live/stay), but just in case, Selma has stored plenty of extra water should you need any.
There are a number of bakeries and cafes almost right outside the building you're staying in. Right next door is an amazing produce market that seems to run every day (at least while we are there). As for location, you're right near it all. It's honestly like a four minute walk to the charming old town
As for Selma, she was incredibly friendly, helpful (pointed us to some great restaurants), and very interested in making sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. We'd happily rent this place again.
As for any cons, some might need to know that the apartment is on the fourth floor of the building and there is no elevator. I say this only for those who might not be able to handle all those stairs.
At the end of the day, you're in a very safe neighborhood with so much to do nearby that you'll never miss having a car.
Selma has A very nice roomy apartment in a great location - just steps from the pedestrian street and the green market. She was very accommodating as our arrival time was a few hours later than planned. She also arranged a taxi for us our last morning which eased our concerns about making our early morning train. I would definitely recommend this apartment as long as you're up to the four flights of stairs!
