About This Listing
We have a large 1950ish, 2 story, 10 bedroom, 5 bathroom home.
This room has a cozy double bed, dresser, and closet and accommodates 2 people comfortably. We have antique furniture and like to think that it gives the feeling of home which you cant get in a hotel.
*Please note: We change and launder our comforters frequently so you may have a different design than pictured.
**IF THIS ROOM IS NOT AVAILABLE OR YOU NEED MORE ROOMS TO ACCOMODATE MORE PEOPLE DURING THE TIME FRAME YOU NEED, WE HAVE 3 OTHER ROOMS :)
See: "Ample&Spacious", "Winsome & Cozy" or "Simply Suffice".
Besides your room and the shared bathroom, guests have access to the PARLOR and the PATIO "Charito". The WIFI can be accessed 24/7 in the parlor and the parlor has doors that can be closed for more privacy. No other rooms are permitted for guest use.
There is a large shared bathroom (with 1 or 2 other people). Sometimes you may be lucky enough to have it to yourself if the other room remains vacant.
Guests who are bringing their laptop may access Wifi in our home 24/7. If you are not bringing your laptop, you may use the internet cabin that is a short 2 minute walk from our home.
It is best to click on the "Amenities" tab so you know just exactly what we do and do not offer.
Interaction with Guests
We offer basic accomodations at very reasonable rates for our guests who are looking for a safe place to shower and sleep so that they may spend the rest of their time getting to know Lima. We do our very best to give you a warm welcome and make you feel comfortable in our home during your stay.
We are in and out of our home on a regular basis but Antonio is very good about checking in on guests often to make sure your stay is going well and to ask if there are any questions. If there is anything we forget or don't think about, please do not hesitate to ask!
We live in a safe neighborhood called Barrio Medico. It is located right on the border of the Miraflores/Surquillo District. We are closest to Angamos and Tomas Marsano (cuadra 17 Angamos) and Roca Y Bologna and Tomas Marsano (cuadra 9 Roca y Bologna).
Staying with us you will experience two worlds. One of locals enjoying the same malls, shops, markets, parks and walks that we do and the other being close enough to enjoy many tourist areas as well.THE HEART OF MIRAFLORES (PARQUE KENNEDY) IS A 25 MINUTE WALK FROM OUR HOME. If you do not like to walk, it is only about a 5 minute taxi ride away for about 6-7 Peruvian soles which is less than 2 Euros or $2.50 USD, VERY CHEAP :)
Barranco is about a 10 minute taxi ride and Central Lima is about 20-25 minutes. If you are not in a hurry and want to save money, there is always the option of taking a bus too :)
SAN ISIDRO and SAN BORJA are to the north
MIRAFLORES is to the south and west
SURCO is to the east
Taxi's are easily accessible right outside our front door and the nearest bus stop is about a 5 minute walk from our home.
For your convenience, we do offer transportation from the airport for a fee. Please inquire.

Had a great time at Antonio's! He was super helpful- maps, directions, info, and general awesomeness :) cats are super cute and the house is beautiful, perfect location too - close but not too close to all the tourist action!
Antonio's place is the perfect location for staying some days in lima! The house is huge and we had enough space for ourselve. Antonio helped us with everything we needed; thanks again!
Antonio is a wonderful host. We arrived late at night and he was willing to wait for us. We didn't get the message before hand but he told us that he'd be willing to send a taxi to come pick us up at the airport which would have cost only around 60-80 Soles. This would have been very helpful to know and very nice also because the Taxi would know where he lives and also wouldn't be just some random taxi driver. He was also a great resourse for foods, places to see and made a little map for us so that we could walk to Miraflores which is pretty close. Our room was very nice and clean. We felt very welcome and safe in his home. The neighbourhood is pretty safe and it doesn't have all the turisty craziness. We really enjoy using his wifi on his our door patio. We highly recommend staying with Antonio. It has been a wonderful experience.
Thank you, Natasha for your very kind review. I enjoyed hosting you.
A note for future guests that upon booking, we provide information in the itinerary that airbnb sends you once the reservation has been confirmed. It mentions that we offer airport pick up and drop off service for an additional fee. Anybody interested in this should inquire. :)
Antonio was a great host, and we had a plessent stay at his place. Do not expect to see or talk to Tina, she will be upstair the whole time, which is a bit of a shame. The location is super, a 20min walk from Miraflores and 40min from Larcomar, it's a bit far, but if you like to walk, like us, it's a nice and safe walk. There's a semi-big mall with a huge Tottus inside to buy everything you need.
Renters need to notice that there's no WiFi-coverage in the room, but there's a big cozy livingroom in the house you can use whenever you want.
But everything in considerstion we would defenately stay at Antonio again.
Thank you Nichlas for your nice review. I am so sorry I did not get to meet you! As decribed in our information about us, it is explained that hosting tourists is Antonio's full time job and I have my own full time job that I must tend to (and on the side I answer emails for Antonio when he can not) after I am off work as you can imagine, I am caring for and spending time with the children. All of these things takes up a lot of my time and I am completely wiped out at the end of the day ;) I do miss the interaction I once had with guests before I got a job, but I'm sure you understand the reasoning under the circumstances. Antonio told me it was a pleasure hosting you and if ever in Lima again you are welcome to stay! All the best!

About the Host, Antonio (& Tina)
Hello and welcome!
A little bit about us...
I was born and raised in Lima, Peru. I moved to the United States when I was 16, learned English and graduated from Clovis High School in Fresno, California and then moved to Sacramento. After living in the United States for 22 years I wanted to move back to Peru with my family (2011) to share my culture, language and country with my children and wife. I speak both Spanish and English fluently.
Tina, was born in Concord, Massachusetts and moved to the Sacramento area in California when she was a child. She went to American River College and has an A.S. Degree. She speaks English and some Spanish.
We have been married for 17 years and have 4 children that keep us busy! My mother, Senora Carmen also lives here. If you are in the bottom part of the house, you will see her cooking in the kitchen most days :)
Tina has a full time job that allows her to work from home on the computer so she also tends to answer most of the inquiries that we receive. You won't see much of her as a result and when she is not working she is taking care of the house and children.
Hosting is my full time job. I have been working with tourists for a little more than three years now. I do not just hand you the keys and leave you alone. I spend a lot of time with my guests, making sure they are comfortable, answer any questions that they have, and giving some suggestions along the way. I do my best to make sure your experience in Lima is a nice one.
