We have a large 1950ish, 2 story, 10 bedroom, 5 bathroom home. Currently we are painting and making small repairs to make an even nicer environment for our guests. Please excuse our little messes or the minor rearranging of furniture. :)
This room has a cozy double bed, dresser, and closet and accommodates 2 people comfortably. We have antique furniture and like to think that it gives the feeling of home which you cant get in a hotel.
*Please note: We change and launder our comforters frequently so you may have a different design than pictured.
**IF THIS ROOM IS NOT AVAILABLE OR YOU NEED MORE ROOMS TO ACCOMODATE MORE PEOPLE DURING THE TIME FRAME YOU NEED, WE HAVE 3 OTHER ROOMS :)
See: "Private Area", "Cute and Cozy" or "The Budget Room".
Besides your room and the shared bathroom, guests have access to the PARLOR and the PATIO "Charito". The WIFI can be accessed 24/7 in the parlor and the parlor has doors that can be closed for more privacy. No other rooms are permitted for guest use.
There is a large shared bathroom (with 1 or 2 other people). Sometimes you may be lucky enough to have it to yourself if the other room remains vacant.
Guests who are bringing their laptop may access Wifi in our home 24/7. If you are not bringing your laptop, you may use the internet cabin that is a short 2 minute walk from our home.
It is best to click on the "Amenities" tab so you know just exactly what we do and do not offer.
Interaction with Guests
We offer basic accomodations at very reasonable rates for our guests who are looking for a safe place to shower and sleep so that they may spend the rest of their time getting to know Lima. We do our very best to give you a warm welcome and make you feel comfortable in our home during your stay.
We are in and out of our home on a regular basis but Antonio is very good about checking in on guests often to make sure your stay is going well and to ask if there are any questions. If there is anything we forget or don't think about, please do not hesitate to ask!
We live in a safe neighborhood called Barrio Medico. It is located right on the border of the Miraflores/Surquillo District. We are closest to Angamos and Tomas Marsano (cuadra 17 Angamos) and Roca Y Bologna and Tomas Marsano (cuadra 9 Roca y Bologna).
Staying with us you will experience two worlds. One of locals enjoying the same malls, shops, markets, parks and walks that we do and the other being close enough to enjoy many tourist areas as well.THE HEART OF MIRAFLORES (PARQUE KENNEDY) IS A 25 MINUTE WALK FROM OUR HOME. If you do not like to walk, it is only about a 5 minute taxi ride away for about 6-7 Peruvian soles which is less than 2 Euros or $2.50 USD, VERY CHEAP :)
Barranco is about a 10 minute taxi ride and Central Lima is about 20-25 minutes. If you are not in a hurry and want to save money, there is always the option of taking a bus too :)
SAN ISIDRO and SAN BORJA are to the north
MIRAFLORES is to the south and west
SURCO is to the east
Taxi's are easily accessible right outside our front door and the nearest bus stop is about a 5 minute walk from our home.
For your convenience, we do offer transportation from the airport for a fee. Please inquire.

I enjoyed my stay in Lima a lot. I asked Tina to organize a pickup from the airport which was organized perfectly. Antonio was very welcoming and explained me how to get around in town. Their kids and Antonio's mother and the dog are lovely! The room was exactly as described. It was clean, has a big window and a huge wardrobe. The shared bathroom got cleaned every day.
Staying at Anthony’s house in Lima was everything we had hoped for. The family house is located in good distance to the best neighbourhoods in town, and there are both a nice market and a very good restaurant (Tiburon) close by. The house was beautiful and calm, and there is both a patio and a roof terrace that you are welcome to use. For us the number one thing about staying at Athonys place was his kindness and good advices. Anthony was able to provide a lot of good ideas about what to do in the city. We can only recommend this place, and if we return to Lima, we know were to stay.
The host family was very nice and welcoming. The room was clean and spacious. Worth the money.
We had a great stay with Antonio and his family. It's Just like the pictures! Very cute cosy and clean! The bedroom is very spacious and 2 of us slept comfortably in the bed( even had some great sleep-ins). The bathroom is straight across from the bedroom and both doors lock. Such a friendly little family to stay with! We enjoyed any encounters with grandma (who is lovely; speaks a little basic English but mainly spanish) and the children. Ana-Sophia their daughter is very cute and smart for her age she is bilingual and fun to talk to. Antonio is very helpful with anything; he went and got our bus tickets to cusco for us which was great and saved us the troubles as we don't know much spanish, he drew us a hand map explaining places when we arrived, helped with what medications to get when I had allergies etc. and if you need any help you can find him somewhere in the house( ask grandma who will call out for him) or email him any questions if he is not home. We had some lovely afternoons in the outdoor area relaxing with some beers and nuts and my partner was able to smoke out there. The location is good with the angamos mall(everything you need in there ) just a walk away and a local restaurant in the same street where you can try Peruvian food for cheap. There are a few general stores and laundry places also in the same street. Taxis continuously go past the front of the house, and buses just near the mall. We did a lot of walking (to miraflores, parque Kennedy etc) during the day and felt safe and had no problems. There where no problems going out and coming home late, we had our own keys to come through the garage. We would definitely recommend staying here :)
Antonio and family were incredible at accommodating and helped make the stay in Lima for a week and a half safe, homey and enjoyable. From scheduling taxis at midnight to the airport to hand drawn maps and spanish practice, it was a treat to stay in such a friendly classic accommodation especially so close to the holidays. Antonio has spent a lot of time abroad and knows the perspective of the wary and foreign traveler experience and takes the time to answer questions and help out.
Antonio was always helpful and every day made himself present at some point which helped with any questions we had. It was great to be exposed to his family, particularly Anna Sofia, she's awesome. The area has a lot of building going on (much like lots of Lima atm) so people that suffer easily from allergies might have problems with dust. A good location, nice family and a clean but very basic room. Much more spacious than other rooms we have come across in SA though.
This was a wonderful first experience in Peru for us. Antonio is extremely nice and accommodating. He helped us with taxis and booking bus trips etc and made our transition very easy. The room is clean and comfortable and the house is within walking distance to Miraflores. We look forward to staying with Antonio again when we come back through Lima!

Hello and welcome!
A little bit about us...
I was born and raised in Lima, Peru. I moved to the United States when I was 16, learned English and graduated from Clovis High School in Fresno, California and then moved to Sacramento. After living in the United States for 22 years I wanted to move back to Peru with my family (2011) to share my culture, language and country with my children and wife. I speak both Spanish and English fluently.
Tina, was born in Concord, Massachusetts and moved to the Sacramento area in California when she was a child. She went to American River College and has an A.S. Degree. She speaks English and some Spanish.
We have been married for 17 years and have 4 children that keep us busy! My mother, Senora Carmen also lives here. If you are in the bottom part of the house, you will see her cooking in the kitchen most days :)
Tina has a full time job that allows her to work from home on the computer so she also tends to answer most of the inquiries that we receive. You won't see much of her as a result and when she is not working she is taking care of the house and children.
Hosting is my full time job. I have been working with tourists for a little more than three years now. I do not just hand you the keys and leave you alone. I spend a lot of time with my guests, making sure they are comfortable, answer any questions that they have, and giving some suggestions along the way. I do my best to make sure your experience in Lima is a nice one.
