About this listing
I rent 4 of the 10 rooms in my comfortable 1950ish home. I take care in making sure my guests enjoy their time in Lima and tell you everything you need to know. Forget the hotels and tour guides. Come for a unique experience! Look for us on the web!
This is the retro room, furnished with a comfortable double bed, dresser, closet, nightstand, and accommodates 2 people comfortably.
- Small changes are made sometimes to improve the look of the room when needed, i.e., changing out comforters to be washed and some designs/decorations to replace old or broken items.
-For stays that are less than the minimum usually required, please inquire, sometimes exceptions can be made when there are openings.
-If this room is not available, please send a message inquiring; there may be other rooms that are open/available.
Besides your room and the bathroom, guests have access to the PARLOR and the PATIO "Charito". Wifi access is in the parlor 24/7 for those bringing laptops, tablets, or phones. The parlor has doors that can be closed for more privacy. If you are not bringing your laptop, you may use the internet cabin that is a short 2 minute walk from our home. No other rooms are permitted for guest use, however, it is ok to store simple items (milk, yogurt, cheese, fruit, etc) in the refrigerator (kitchen), no problem.
There is a large shared bathroom (with other guests). Sometimes you may be lucky enough to have it to yourself if the other room remains vacant.
Please see "Amenities" to find out what I do and do not offer.
Interaction with Guests
I offer basic accomodations at very reasonable rates for my guests who are looking for a safe, friendly, and comfortable place to shower and sleep so that they may spend the rest of their time getting to know Lima. I do my very best to give you a warm welcome and make you feel comfortable in my home during your stay.
I am in and out of my home on a regular basis but very good about checking in on guests often to make sure your stay is going well and to ask if there are any questions. If there is anything I forget or don't think about, please do not hesitate to ask! I can always be reached by messaging via Airbnb.
My neighborhood, Barrio Medico, is considered a safe, upscale place with a higher standard of living, as it borders the Miraflores District/Surquillo District.
I am closest to Angamos/Tomas Marsano (cuadra 17 Angamos) in Surquillo and Roca Y Bologna/Tomas Marsano (cuadra 9 Roca y Bologna) in Miraflores.
Staying with me you will experience two worlds. One of locals, enjoying the same malls, shops, markets, parks and walks that I do and the other being close enough to enjoy many tourist areas as well. The heart of Miraflores (Parque Kennedy) is a nice 25 minute walk. If you do not like to walk, it is only about a 5 minute taxi ride for about 6-7 Peruvian soles, which is less than 2 Euros or $2.50 USD, VERY CHEAP :)
Barranco is about a 10 minute taxi ride and Central Lima is about 20-25 minutes. If you are not in a hurry and want to save money, there is always the option of taking a bus too :)
SAN ISIDRO and SAN BORJA are to the north
MIRAFLORES is to the south and west
SURCO is to the east
Taxi's are easily accessible right outside the front door of my home. The nearest bus stop is about a 5 minute walk from my home.
For your safety and convenience, I offer taxi services to and from the airport for an additional fee each way. The drivers that work for me are people that I personally know and trust. If you would like for me to arrange one of my taxi's for your arrival (or departure), upon reserving, please provide your complete flight details (airline company, flight #, arrival/departure time, and where the plane will be flying from/to).
Other Things to Note
I offer 24 hour check in , however, to keep things running smoothly and fair for all of my guests, I have set a check in and check out time as follows:
Check IN: 1 PM (13:00) or later.
Check OUT: 11 AM (11:00) SHARP or earlier.
Any questions about check in or check out times, please send me a message.
A friendly reminder that the kitchen is not included in the accommodations (except storing items in the refrigerator).
I respect the privacy of my guests and never enter your room. I also expect my guests to respect my privacy and follow all of my rules. Please note the only place a guest has access to besides their room and shared bathroom is the PARLOR and PATIO CHARITO. There will be no exceptions.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, be considerate of other guests sharing the bathroom (and any other shared areas) with you and clean up any messes made after each use (i.e. hair in the drain, toothpaste in the sink, water spots on the mirror, crumbs on the floor, etc). The maid cleans the house once a day but is not responsible for cleaning up after guests 24/7. Leave all shared areas in the condition you found it in, please. If you walk in behind your neighbor and find a mess, please let me know ASAP.
IMPORTANT: Utilities are expensive. For this reason I try to conserve as much energy and water as possible. I have a small hot water tank for the shower. As long as you turn on with a normal amount of pressure and a normal amount of hot water , you can enjoy a 15-20 minute shower. The water tank generally takes 30 minutes to heat back up before it is ready for the next person. Please make sure you turn off all water completely after showering and washing hands. Also please turn off all lights when leaving rooms.
I no longer give the key to the front door. Too many guests in past experiences have left the door open leaving my family and my home vulnerable. Guests are given a key to their room and a key to enter the house through the garage. During the day guests are permitted to exit out the front door and upon returning you may ring the doorbell (or use your key to enter through the garage). Please close the garage door ALL THE WAY. If the door is left open a curfew will be set.
There will be a $10 USD charge for lost or broken keys.
Strangers, family, or friends are not allowed in our home. Please visit them at their home.
Please keep noise levels down between the hours of 10 pm to 9 am.
Thank you in advance for respecting my home and rules.
