About This Listing
I have a lovely one bedroom condo right in the middle of the Bloomingdale neighborhood. The condo is very spacious, has huge windows, and is only a few years old with all new appliances. You will have the place to yourself, a queen bed, a couch, bathroom, huge kitchen, a dining and living area, a large flat screen TV, wireless internet, and a washer and dryer in the unit.
The condo has wifi and a kitchen with all new appliances and all the tools you need to cook a great meal. The full bathroom is stocked with towels, shampoo and conditioner. The condo is professionally cleaned on a regular basis.
Within a few blocks are Boundary Stone (a restaurant and bar), Window's Market (a market and cafe with wifi access), Big Bear Cafe (a cafe, coffeehouse, small plate meals with drinks), Yoga District, FieldToCity (serving hard to find produce, wines, beers, and local/organic produce ) and Rustik (a brick oven pizzeria and tavern). Every summer, the Bloomingdale Farmers' Market is open on Sundays from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.
On street parking is plentiful in the neighborhood and you can also try the new Capitol BikeShare system just couple of blocks away. I am about 12-15 minute walk to the Shaw Howard metro stop and just a few blocks from Rhode Island Avenue NW and its bus lines. The neighborhood has a walk score of 73 which is described as "very walkable".

Emily is a wonderful host, making her home feel like our home away from home. Her condo is ideally located for us in a great neighborhood around the corner from our daughter's house. And Emily was great about checking to make sure everything was okay for us. If you're planning to be in DC, would definitely recommend her place.
Emily's apartment is amazing. If you like a clean, modern, and well furnished location in central DC this spot is for you. I'd definitely recommend this location and look forward to staying here again in the future.
I've used Airbnb dozens of times and I can say that Emily's place is the best. We stayed here for three wonderful nights and would definitely stay again. Everything about the condo is just perfect, it's spotless, it has everything you can imagine while on a trip and even more, it feels very homelike, it's located in a safe, friendly neighbourhood and you can park right on the street for free, which is awesome for DC. Didn't get a chance to know Emily in person, but she managed to be the best host ever not even seeing us. The communication was super fast and easy. You're lucky if you get a chance to stay at Emily's place.
Let me tell you a story about a host named Emily. Emily is the best. I wish we had a chance to meet, because I'm sure my family would have loved her in person as much as we enjoyed staying at her place. Her place was exactly as show and was very well decorated. This is what drew her to her place. It was very clean, very nicely decorated and was clearly setup for people to stay there. When we arrived late at night everything that we would have needed was set out and waiting for us. Extra sheets, towels, pillows, etc. We felt very at home and would definitely stay again. Thanks again Emily.
Truly perfect apartment, felt like a home away from home. Emily was always timely in responding to any queries in advance, or providing a local perspective to things that could be enjoyed. Be mindful that this apt is perhaps further away from 'select' neighbourhoods, bars, and restaurants, but it certainly didn't deter us from thoroughly enjoying our time here.
Emily was an amazing host. The appartment was great. The communication was very good. Emily was very helpful and very obliging. The appartment is in a safe and nice area. The next train station Shaw Howard, is around 15 minutes to walk. You can also walk to the union station/city in around 40 minutes.
About the Host, Emily
Hello, my name is Emily and I have a lovely apartment in the in Washington DC's Bloomingdale neighborhood.
I'd love to have you stay at my place while I am out of town; it is a wonderful apartment in a great part of DC. Thanks!
Boundary Stone is a fun neighborhood bar with some light food. Space gets tight on the weekends, but you can always count on a good pint in this local bar!
A casual Thai and Japanese restaurant that opened up fairly recently, but has been a nice addition to the neighborhood. They also do take out.
Rustik has great pizza and a nice little bar. They also have a great happy hour Monday - Friday from 4:00pm - 7:00pm with $2 off of all beers, $3 off selected pizzas, and $5 for red & white wines.
Big Bear is a great place to stop in for a coffee or snack. Ranked by Washington Magazine as one the 50 Best Breakfasts in DC. Has a nice outdoor patio space for sunny days.
Thai X-ing is a small and delicious restaurant with a chef's choice menu and family-style serving. It is best to make reservations at least a week in adv(website hidden)x-ing.com.
A great little Thai restaurant that also delivers. Lunch and dinner seven days a week (and my favorite delivery in the neighborhood). Ca(phone number hidden)636 (phone number hidden)006 to place an order.
Shaw's Tavern has a great brunch and is also a fun bar on the weekends. Casual gastropub with good food and a nice atmosphere but often slow-not your place if you are in a hurry!
A small but delicious bistro offering Central European cuisine. The bistro is open everyday at 5pm and the Kafe open weekdays from 6am - 5pm and weekends from 8am - 5pm. Good food in a cozy setting.
A brand new Harris Teeter grocery store with a pharmacy that's a 23 minute walk from my home. A more isolated spot than the other groceries, but there is a Five Guys and few small eateries nearby.
A new grocery store with a pharmacy and Starbucks. About a 24 minute walk and near a number of fun places to eat including Taylor Gourmet, Busboys and Poets, and Mandu.
A small grocery store with hours limited to nights and weekends. Meat, dairy and produce are sourced from local farms. Also carry aisle goods, beer and wine. Expensive but good in a pinch!
One of the closer grocery stores to me. About a 30 minute walk from the house and has a CVS next door.
