Our impeccably maintained European-style bathrooms—one upstairs and one downstairs—add to the authentic farmhouse experience. Relax on our two inviting porches, perfect for soaking in both sunrises and sunsets. A Keurig coffee/tea maker and gourmet breakfasts are included in your stay.

Our farmstay offers the perfect blend of communal living and personal retreat. Shared spaces are designed to encourage a sense of community, while intimate corners allow for private moments with your partner. At Mountain Laurel Farm, we prioritize both cleanliness and comfort.

Guests are also welcome to explore our 22-acre estate, home to a 150+ year-old barn and a peaceful, flowing creek. Sip on refreshing artesian spring water and enjoy the purity of nature in our chemical-free environment. It’s the ideal setting for a serene mountain getaway, just a short drive from the tourist destination of Helen, with easy access to nearby hiking trails, waterfalls, and scenic attractions

Guest access
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the farmhouse rooms and porches. You can tour the barn during designated hours and explore the property at your leisure. Please note that roaming the grounds is at your own risk.

Other things to note
This farmhouse is shared with guests in three other rooms. As a historic property, we kindly ask you to be gentle, especially with the plumbing: please allow 5 minutes between showers for the hot water to replenish. The 15% management fee is a required hotel/motel tax collected by the state and county. We appreciate your understanding.

We sincerely hope you enjoy your stay at our rustic and unique farm!

Neighborhood highlights

We are located just 5 miles from Helen, GA city center, the 3rd most visited city in Georgia with an Alpine village flair. We are 2 miles from Smithgall Woods State Park with fishing and trails and 3 miles from the nearest waterfalls. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains on the Chattahoochee River, this Northeast Georgia village has a rich history linked to the Cherokee Indians and Indian burial mounds as well as early settlers who arrived to mine for gold and cut virgin timber for a thriving lumber industry in the early 1900s. Helen is a re-creation of an alpine village complete with cobblestone alleys and old-world towers. We've got shopping, camping, both rustic and luxury mountain cabins, restaurants, bed and breakfast inns, mountains, theater, recreation, romantic getaways, beautiful scenery, family activities, waterfalls, museums, history, art, fishing, tubing, golf, and more. Something for everyone. Festivals and special events include a hot air balloon race, Winefest, Volksmarch, Oktoberfest and Christmas parades, Fourth of July fireworks, and Bavarian Nights of Summer. From mid-September through October, Helen hosts the longest Oktoberfest in the South. Alpenfest offers entertainment during the Holiday season from Thanksgiving through to New Year.
