Anshad, Amina, their family and workers made us feel so welcome and relaxed. We felt they had the perfect blend of being friendly, very helpful and interested in us, while still affording us privacy. They were warm, open minded and obviously enjoy hosting travellers.
They have many visitors who are regulars, a very positive sign. Amina's food is amazing and she let us and our children help in the kitchen while learning from her.
The setting is idyllic, exactly as shown and described and a great place to rejuvenate in the middle of a bustling India holiday. The house is a great design and so beautiful.
They led us to a fantastic local festival and a great houseboat trip.
Thank you so much Anshad and Amina for an unforgettable time at Lovedale. We hope to be back one day.

Anshad's constant communication with us from the time of the initial enquiry till we actually reached his doorstep -- including coordinating our complex multiple people/points of origin logistics -- was nothing short of awesome. He was welcoming without going over the top and the tone of calm reassurance he exuded right through ensured all our arrangements went off like clockwork without a hitch. The place itself is a delight and far more enchanting than the bare-bones listing lets on..an oasis of peace and tranquility far from the madding crowd with only the lapping waves of the Vembanad lake, the bird calls and the fishermen's chatter on the neighboring jetty when they return as background score. Amina's food is finger-licking delicious and priced at a steal and you end up gorging at every meal...if you are a gourmand or just a lover of good food be prepared to come back from a stay at Lovedale several pounds heavier!! want the secrets to her culinary magic ? just walk into the kitchen and spend time chatting with her as she whips up a feast without breaking a sweat or dropping her smile! A shikara ride on the lake, bicycle rides on the neighboring back lanes, just lazing in a hammock or a 30-minute auto-taxi ride to Marari beach out to the west are all fun things to do while you chill at Lovedale. and if you enjoy pickles and chutneys..ask for Usha `chechi's' special bitter-gourd pickle..it's a treat not to be missed!
This homestay is located in a lovely location beside a large lake. You can spend the day watching the houseboats and fishermen go by or walk to the nearby village. The food was very good and plentiful and the hosts were friendly and helpful. Rooms are basic but include the necessities.
This was a lovely house on the water. Relaxing stay. We ate lunch and dinner at the house. Only cost about 500 rupees per meal for 2 people. Asked for less spicy meals and they were happy to oblige. Organised a boat tour and taxi for (website hidden) and fan worked well. Bed was a bit hard.
Is not necessarily near restaurants and shops so you have to get a taxi to go anywhere else.
We stayed at love dale for 3 days. The stay was pleasant and food was fantastic. My kids especially loved the karimeen n wheat prata cooked by Amina. Simply superb. Anshad was very helpful n informative.
My stay at Love Dale was wonderful. Anshad and his family were warm and friendly, made excellent food, and provided excellent service. Anshad was also very helpful with suggestions for local sightseeing activities and helped with transportation arrangements. Love Dale is absolutely lovely, even better than the pictures. It is quiet and peaceful right on the lake but with easy access to shops, town, and transportation. Would absolutely recommend staying here.
