Antonio is a genuine, truly artist and he rocks. My stay at his flat was short as I was there for new years eve and spend most of my time out, but the time I was there was really nice and comfortable.
Antonio made me feel as home from the very first time, and the flat has an artistic, bohemian chic atmosphere and a very warm cozy feeling.
Also the location is excellent, walking distance to the centre and to many tourist attractions.
I highly recommend to stay @ Antonio´s place for a few days in Madrid.
Nice location. The place is closed to famous places in Madrid. You could walk to most sightseeings in Madrid. The host Antonio is very welcoming person. He is generous and has lots of understanding. He is very open minded, introdudces his friends all the time and always asks for joining the party or dinner if there is any. I really enjoyed staying there. Thank you Antonio.
My girlfriend and I stayed with Antonio for a week and couldn't have felt more welcome. The best location in madrid, walked to everything. Bohemian artist type environment with a comfy bed, a loving dog, and laundry! Antonio was very gracious in introducing us to his friends and giving recommendations. Could not recommend more highly.
My stay in Madrid with Antonio was amazing! The room is located only a few blocks from all the major tourist attractions, shops, cafes, everything you could want while you are in Madrid. The room itself was huge and had a nice balcony. Antonio was very nice, as were his many roommates. They cooked for me several times and we talked and hung out quite a bit. It was awesome to make such great new friends while travelling. I would recommend this room for anyone who wants to stay in Madrid, as it is as good as I can imagine an airbnb rental being, especially considering how cheap it was.
Thank you Antonio and everyone else for showing me such a good time and being so friendly!
The reservation was canceled 6 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I stayed at Antonio's place for the month of January 2014. I had a great time there, and would happily recommend it.
Antonio is a lovely person - and a bit quirky in a good way. Antonio is very easy-going and friendly. He pretty much leaves you to yourself, but is happy to answer questions and provide assistance if you ask.
The room I stayed in was basic but large and good, and the bed was fantastic. It was the front room that also has a small balcony - try to get this room!
Antonio's place is social but not overwhelming. I really liked having other nice people around. He had two other rooms being occupied by people like me, and they were lovely. Antonio also has a lovely bunch of friends who visit every few days. They made me feel very welcome in Madrid. Antonio is a painter, and has some students come to his studio in the apartment.
The location is brilliant - walking distance to so many fantastic Madrid attractions and sights. Close to shops and cafes and subway and buses. Chueca is the gay district in Madrid, so there are lots of gay venues nearby - but again, not overwhelming if you are not gay (like me).
The apartment has lots of character and is a bit quirky - like Antonio! It is not upmarket or fancy. There are wonderful paintings on the walls; it has a great artistic feel. In some ways it reminded me a bit of a university student share house; a little run down, but everything working sufficiently. This did not bother me so much, but I mention it in case people expect to stay in a modern 'done up' place. Overall the apartment is on the dark side as there is little natural light coming in.
I had a really good time staying at Antonio's and would happily go back and stay again.
I have lived in Antonio's house for three weeks (August 2013) and it has been a fantastic experience. The house is perfectly located: very close to where the airport express bus leaves/takes you (Plaza de Las Cibeles) and in the heart of Madrid. I have never had to take the metro or the bus: everything (from the city's most important monuments and places to all kinds of shops or supermarkets someone needs for a short-to-longterm stay) was very close.
The house is large and the photos on the internet are faithful and accurate. Not only, as I said, is it very central, but also it is very quiet and calm: a quality which is very rare in Madrid.
Antonio is the perfect host: always at your disposal if you need his help or advise, and at the same time he is discreet. He is friendly, cordial, warm, company-lover, convivial and amiable. From the very beginning I felt a very familiar atmosphere thanks to which I spent three extraordinary weeks.
I left Madrid with memorable positive impressions. Above all, I left a home I will unquestionably come back to, as soon as I will be able visit Madrid again.
