Interaction with Guests
Welcome to our house! We will generally be there to greet you, share our 8 years each of living in London and will be on site to answer questions and make your stay enjoyable.
The area is very central, but relaxed due to facing Deptford Park across a very quiet street and in a lovely Victorian pocket. Located short walking distance to one of London's UNESCO world heritage listed sites: beautiful Maritime Greenwich (20 mins walk / 5 min bus) and London's second UNESCO site at the Tower of London (~35 minutes by foot / 15 minutes bus)
Deptford itself is very historic with Tudor era Royal Docks & diarists John Evelyn and Samuel Pepys, ancient churches & Watling Street. Deptford High Street has galleries, the great Deptford Project and vibrant market. We are very near Surrey Quays tube station, shopping centre and restaurants.
Great Transport links from Canada Water (Jubilee / silver line - 5 minutes by bus from our house); or Surrey Quays (Overground) stations (7 minutes' walk). Also three bus routes at end of the street, two of them run 24 hours a day.
From Canada Water:
- London Bridge (2 stops)
- West End / Soho (15 mins, 6 stops direct)
- Canary Wharf (1 stop)
Also easy airport connections.
Other Things to Note
We may provide you an alternative room of comparable size in some circumstances. We will discuss this with you at or before check-in.
Each room has a double bed and we charge the same for 1 or 2 people. Additional people are at the half room rate if in the same room - so f you book for 3 people (or odd numbers), you can either pay a single person rate with the third person in the room on a futon mattress, or pay the room rate for them to have their own room. Bookings for 4 would usually be across 2 rooms. We have access to 7 rooms in total in two adjoining houses so if any rooms are listed as unavailable or you have a larger group we may be able to accommodate you. Because of this also, 'Instant Book' bookings are only valid for up to three people - more requires us to confirm availability of other rooms.
Please advise us ahead of time when you will arrive so we can receive you. If we cannot be home then for any reason then we will give you a key. Please have your phone on and charged on the day so that we can ring each other if need be. If you arrive during changeover/cleaning (usually mid morning) you will be welcome to leave your bags but may need to return later when your room is ready.
We're pretty relaxed so no major rules apart from no smoking, but do remember that it's someone's house, not a hotel.
Please let us know during your stay - not after you have left, as it helps no one :) - if there is anything unsatisfactory or that we can do to improve your stay.
The place was absolutely lovely and perfect for our purposes. It's in an absolutely adorable and safe neighborhood with easy access to a bus that takes you straight to a train station on the Jubilee line. The house, including our room, the awesome bathroom, and the kitchen, were all spotless. The use of the kitchen was particularly great, as we decided to get some food from a store within walking distance to have breakfast in the morning. Plato greeted us when we got there and was very helpful and welcoming. We met David briefly but did not meet Roland. They provided free wifi as well as an extensive guide with recommendations for sightseeing, restaurants, bars, as well as parts of "hidden London." I'm so happy we decided to opt for Airbnb--it really felt like we were living in London for a few days instead of vacationing there! It would have been nice to get to know Roland and David better--so if you're looking to bond with your Airbnb host, you probably won't find it here--but otherwise you really can't go wrong with this place.
Great stay, didnt meet Roland but Plato was there to greet us and very happy to help with our sightseeing plans, left us a contact number if we had any problems. Room was clean and tidy and bathroom spotless. Close to public transport and easy to get into the city would defiently recommend. Thanks for having us
The room and kitchen are clean. The environment is nice and quiet. There are many restaurants near the house. And a big Tesco is also near. The host is nice to give help. The only disadvantage is that the metro station is not so close.
Roland couldn't welcome us in person when we arrived but he made sure that a neighbor opened the door for us and gave us quick instruction.
In the morning we met Roland and he gave us great suggestions for things to do and we had a fabulous day. Thanks for that!
It is a nice place to stay. Homely, clean and convenient location for a city trip in London.
It was a great stay in London! Roland wasn't there at the time but David and the others who stayed at their place during this time were very nice and helpful! We got many tips to visit certain places and a guide for the public transport.
Our room was nice and clean, such as the rest of the house, just like on the photos!
The free parking was also very helpful as we were traveling by car.
Spitefully we didn't get any WiFi Signal in our room but all in all I absolutely recommend this place to everyone who is looking for a nice and cozy place to stay in London!

I have been in London 9 years and know the city very well. Very happy to introduce you to it. I love the house and the area. We're really close to everything but very peaceful and green facing the park.
I am a management consultant and professional investor. I did consulting for the oil industry for 3 years (including working in groovy places like Angola & Kuwait). I'm also an ex-lawyer and Science major.
I love travel (40+ countries in the last 5 years) and meeting people. Really into snowboarding. Also economics and 20th Century History.
We have a flatmate, who's great.
Looking forward to meeting you and having you to stay!"
