Two adjoined guest apartments, each with distinct personalities, offerings and outdoor spaces, Can Cuqueta is the story of organic architecture, sustainable principles and a passion for connecting with nature. We’re happy that the by-product of this, as commonly effused by our guests, is a sense of calm, wellbeing and creativity.
The space
Just like children, our apartment each have their unique characteristics: take a peek at East and West for yourself, and we hope to see you in person soon!
APARTMENT WEST marries softness with sophistication to help you truly unwind.
The muted tones and wooden pieces create a calm, peaceful ambiance, instantly feeling like a home away from home.
The stand-out feature is the decadent soaking tub (ample for two, and utterly luxurious solo) in the master bathroom, where floor-to-ceiling mirror glass allows you to bathe in privacy while gazing up at the trees and surrounding nature.
Both bathrooms feature a glass window overlooking out into the green canopy of a secluded private garden. An additional outdoor shower is present for those who like it al fresco.
From waking to a view of golden light across the garden, to lounging on the outdoor sofa catching the afternoon sun, West Home offers relaxation, comfort and an intimate view on nature regardless of the season.
The 75m2 terrace is like a second exterior house, with a large dining table and BBQ, oversized sofa and coffee table, and a pair of deck chairs perfect for enjoying your morning coffee.
APARTMENT EAST is a love letter to Eastern locations and the lifestyles they inspire.
A blend of rose tones and warm neutrals, the design is based around a collection of antique pieces assembled from extensive travels through Bali, India, Morocco and further afield.
The three-bedroom house invites you to voyage to different lands, with an extensive library of books in multiple languages to help transport you while you tuck up on the sofa or relax in bed.
The generous kitchen and large dining tables (inside seating 6-12, and space for eight outside on the terrace) make it perfect for long dinners, enjoying the warm breeze in the summer months, and cosying up indoors with the fireplace in winter.
Connecting with nature is always a key feature here, with a selection of terraces and outdoor settings that allow you to follow the sun - or shade from it - as desired. Lavender bushes line the terrace, softly fragrancing the air as you drift from the terrace to the pool and back again.

OUR SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES
Every action we take is driven by our desire to leave things better than we found them.
We work hard to apply regenerative principles to every aspect of our property, and are excited to share some of the key components with you.
ORGANIC ARCHITECTURE
Being an island, Ibiza naturally suffers from humidity and arid weather (they seem like they’d balance each other out, but unfortunately not!). We were exceptionally mindful of these issues when planning the construction of the homes, with natural insulation a key priority: the walls are 50cm thick, as per traditional local houses. We chose a blend of thermal clay bricks, cork padding, white cement and lime for the walls, a composite that crucially allows the walls to breathe while wicking away any excess moisture.
Calculating the trajectory of the sun in different seasons also played a key role in ensuring that the homes remain temperate year-round. We achieved this by the most lo-fi means possible, placing a stick in the ground and for a full year watching the shadows it cast. The end result was the decision to create extra wide terraces, that allow the winter sun (which angles lower) to sneak underneath, while keeping the intense summer rays at bay.
MINDFUL INTERIORS
The decorative texturing of the walls in the apartment West was a happy surprise: we put a basecoat over the drywall (originally intending to finish it with a couple of coats of paint), but on seeing the results we realised that the natural imperfections were far more to our liking.
In the apartment East , the blush pink bathrooms expanded on the concept, bringing joyful memories of India and Morocco into the home, while adding warmth to the morning light.
The roof beams are in Sabina wood, which have a long tradition in Ibiza: you would plant the trees for your grandsons to build their houses, and you would use the Sabina trees your grandfathers planted. The wood grows exceptionally slowly, but is also the strongest wood around.
SUSTAINABILITY
From the very beginning, our focus has been on how to co-exist with the land in maximum harmony. After extensive research, we determined that an under-floor heating system would be the most efficient, adapting concrete’s natural properties to the needs of each season with minimal energy usage.
Solar panels were an obvious must, with Ibiza’s year-round sun, with eight installed on each home, and additional panels atop our separate workshop space.
While we still ask our guests to be conscious of their water usage, our grey-water recycling system means your bathing rituals can bear fruit, with an innovative filtering system using natural ash rendering the water safe for use on the property’s extensive vegetable gardens.
PERMACULTURE
Having our own vegetable garden was a priority from day one, and we’re surprised and amazed by how much our vision has grown (literally!) since then. We’ve learned so much about how to act in harmony with the natural environment, working with the arid conditions rather than against them. It takes a village, truly, and we’re thrilled to play an active role in Ibiza’s permaculture community.
We love sharing our tips and tricks with guests - whether you have a full size garden of your own, or are making the most of a balcony or windowsill back home - and are looking forward to running hands-on educational sessions from our workshop space on the property.

Santa Agnes is a very charming and quiet village in the NW of the island full of nature and perfect for a relaxing time on the countryside. Just one old “ibicencan” style church, a couple of local restaurants and a playground area compose the village of Santa Agnes. One of the restaurants is very well known for their “tortillas” (local egg-omelettes) and also its own tiny family “colmado” for “survival basic products”.
The almond tree blossom it’s the greatest moment in Santa Agnés valley, every February lots of visitors come to admire such an attractive flowery and white event, even better under the full moon light.
It is one of the last undiscovered magical areas in the island but only 15 min by car from Santa Gertrudis, San Rafael, San Antonio villages or Cala Salada & Cala Saladeta beaches (the closest ones from home).
