Interaction with Guests
I live in the same complex so am super accessible for all questions, needs and concerns of my guests. I do however understand that many people like their privacy and completely respect that too!
Accessibility to town, local sights, the beach and national park. Convenient location yet quiet and nestled away in the jungle!
We are just steps away from the bus stop that serves downtown for cheap eats and grocery stores as well as the bus stop for higher end restaurant, the beach and the national park. Taxis are easy to flag down too. There is a small free of charge parking area too for those that travel with a rental vehicle.
No smoking inside the apartment
I almost don't even know how to describe how wonderful my stay was at Hazel's apartment. From the second we arrived, I felt like we were old friends. She told us of some local deals on tours, she gave us all of the information we needed to successfully navigate the area, and she threw in some of her beautiful personality. She even let me borrow something personal of hers one night! She was constantly available, too. The actual apartment was perfect, as well. It was in a gated community which felt very safe and the pool was right there. We chose not to cook but we could have easily if we wanted. Hotel Mono Azul is the landmark for taking the bus or taxis and it was a 1 minute walk to get there. I would love to come back even just to see Hazel!
This place is fantastic, the apartment & pool is in the middle of the jungle, you can see monkeys, sloths & parrots.
It is located right in between Quepos, and Manuel Antonio which is extremely convenient.
This is not a huge place, but everything was well equipped and comfortable. It is a bit dark but you will be 90% of the time outside anyway so not a major problem.
The host Hazel is just FANTASTIC. We had an issue in the bathroom, and it was fix in no time. She helped us organized a tour, and has plenty of information to share about activities do do in Quepos or around it as well.
Lovely experience. Hazel accommodated us last minute and was so helpful in answering questions and making sure we felt welcome. Very nice small apartment with hot water all the time, great wifi and all kitchen items needed to cook. Complex has friendly residents and a great pool. Definitely recommended for a quiet, relaxed stay away from the resort style vacation. Saw monkeys and a sloth on the property!
Hazel was out of town when we arrived but her good friend Paige took care of us. She was super knowledgeable about the area and gave us a great welcoming. The neighborhood was great! super quiet and safe feeling.
The road between Quepos and Manuel Antonio is windy, heavily trafficked, and full of resorts, restaurants and attractions. This complex is well off the main road, and convenient to all. The complex is beautiful, private, and well-maintained- and yes, titi monkeys hang around on the rooftops.
The unit itself is perfect for 2 people, a comfortable, fully equipped 1-bedroom. The hosts, Hazel and Jonathan, could not have been nicer. This was a fantastic home base to explore the jungle and the beaches of Manuel Antonio.
The apt is located in a well maintained and gated complex with a nice tropical garden and a small swimming pool. The shared pool area was a great place to relax and cool down outside after a day out especially as the apt doesn't have it's own area to sit outside. We even had a visit from a troop of monkeys one afternoon.
The apt was clean and well maintained with everything you need to cook your own meal when not eating out at one of the excellent restaurants nearby. Our favourites were Cafe Milagro and emilio's cafe.
We had a hire car to get around but used a bus in the evening as there is a stop at the end of the street.
Our host Hazel gave us excellent instructions to find the apt and replied quickly to any queries that we had. Jonathan met us on our arrival and gave us a complete rundown of the activities that are available and that they will arrange for you. We went on the national park tour which was well worth it, if only for the telescopes that the tour guides have (you can get great pictures through them using a camera phone).
We had a very nice time hare and would be happy to go back again. For the price it was very good.
Jonathan nous a très bien accueillis en nous donnant de précieux conseils selon nos goûts. L'appartement était propre, pratique et fonctionnel et la piscine commune à la résidence très agréable. Très bonne expérience!

About the Host, Hazel
I landed in Manuel Antonio from the UK in 2007 on an adventure to study spanish and scuba dive. I fell in love with the country, the culture, the language and wanted to explore more. I made my travels around Latin America and somehow always ended up back in Costa Rica to visit friends. 2.5 years after my first visit I made the decision to stay and have loved it ever since. The air is fresh, the sun is always shining and people live day-to-day based on "pura vida" - the national phrase which means "pure life"!
