  • We stayed in this apartment for a week back in February 2014.

Our instructions upon arrival were to look for keys hidden behind a box. We looked around for quite a while before finding them hidden in a envelope scrap beside some vomit! I suppose it was made deliberately less conspicuous so no one would pick it up by accident.

The location is great. There are many bus routes nearby, and it's also a pleasant 10 min walk to South Kensington station. There is a Waitrose a block away for groceries, as well as numerous coffee shops and restaurants on King's Road.

The apartment itself was spacious, with plenty of space for our luggage. Having a washer was very handy, although there was no laundry detergent provided. Wifi was strong and fast and the TV worked flawlessly. Sleeping area was comfortable, with clean sheets and blanket provided. Kitchen was basic but enough for our needs since we didn't cook while we were there.

For whatever reason, the apartment as a whole was very drafty and cold. This probably isn't a problem in summer, but it was quite cold in winter, even with the additional space heater running at max.

The washroom was the coldest part of the apartment. The radiator in there didn't put out much heat, and there was no shower curtain to help with keeping the heat in the bathtub. As a result, washroom usage was not particularly comfortable.

Overall, the stay in the apartment was pretty good and we would consider staying here again the next time we are in London.

  • We had a great time staying in the flat. The location is amazing! Cute pub nearby and the tube isn't too far.

    A few notes:

The rug is in desperate need of a cleaning and a good vacuum.

Maybe bring your own sheets? The sheet on the bed wasn't fitted and kept falling off. There was no top sheet either, so it was weird being right under the comforter everyone else uses.

Bring extra blankets. We had 3 of us staying. 2 in the bed, one on pull out. There was no blanket for our 3rd guest. She had to use just a sheet.

Besides that we loved our stay. The grocery store is also right around the corner!

    Would come back for sure.

  • I stayed for three days at Carrie's flat and loved the quiet space and its great proximity to central London. I get around town on a folding bike and could get to Trafalgar Square in comfortably less than 15 minutes.

Lots of hot water there, and hardly a squeak from anyone elsewhere in the building. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

  • I stayed in this Studio for a long week-end End November, with my husband: it's perfect for a couple or a couple with 2 little children. I would recommend it and definitely will come again when travelling to London, but if a couple of things will ce repaired:
    - The heating in the small bathroom was not working (it was shocking for the morning shower !!)
    - The WC flush was not working and has not been repaired before our departure

The location is perfect, 2 mins walk from all the necessary shops, 10 mins stroll from Sloane Sq or South Kensington tube stations, well linked to all the necessary touristic attractions.
To arrive, I would suggest to take the bus nr. 11 from Victoria Station, well linked to Gatwick airport.
The Studio is comfortable, smart and have all the necessary (included hairdryer and plug adaptor). The location is quit and lovely.

Just a couple of observations to improve the service:
    - Milk was not provided for breakfast, but this was not a problem for us, I think you have to ask for.
    - Just make sure that linen and towels are supplied before your check-in time.

  • I enjoyed my stay at Carrie's apartment for the most part. It had all of the amenities listed and having a washer was great. She was responsive when I was booking her apartment and she sent me walking directions from the 2 nearest Tube stations. There were a couple of things that would have improved my experience. First, Carrie said the keys would be placed in a bag under leaves on the side of the building. After 5 min of digging up leaves, I walked to the front door and the cleaning lady opened the front door asked if I was here for Carrie's apartment. This confusion could have been avoided if someone had met me upon arrival. Second, the water pressure of the toilet was very low, to the point where it could not flush in 2-3 tries. Carrie said she would call a plumber the first day, but she didn't follow-up with me again during my 3 day stay. My friends and I used public toilets during our stay in London. I believe these 2 situations could have been avoided and hope they are resolved for you.

  • Carrie's apartment is ideal for short stays in Chelsea/Kensington - close to transport, supermarkets and all the joys of Kings Rd, while still only a short journey to the city.
Carrie was very responsive to any issue that arose and fixed it quickly. If you are looking for a great spot in such a perfect location, this is it.

  • Perfect location. Great little flat. Matress on sofa bed is more comfortable. Wish there was a place to put your luggage on top or a bureau to put clothes in. Will come again. Location is worth it.
