Monica was such a great host. The house was clean and in a great location right across from the beach and next to the bus stop into city center. She was a great source of information for things to do in the city and I would highly recommend staying here to anyone.
Monica was very welcoming and I felt very safe and comfortable staying with her. The apartment was exactly as described and what I expected. The neighborhood is wonderful. It is right across from the beach and very close to the center of the city. I will definitely come back!
We did not actually stay with Monica, however, there was a misunderstanding as to whether or not her room was available and we accidentally got charged. Monica was extremely responsive and gladly returned the money to us. We all learned the lesson that it is always safest to message the host before pressing "Instant book" just to confirm the room is truly available.
This is the third time I have stayed with Monica. I love her place as it is very clean and tidy all the time, and right across the street from the beach! Monica is a wonderful host and tells me about all the interesting places to visit, and more importantly, how to get there.
If you are a 19 year old exchange student, or if you don’t mind being patronized and talked to as you are a child and not a customer this place can be ok…
After just a short while with nagging from the host about small details
like drops of water on the bathroom floor, making bed, forgetting empty plastic box etc. I had enough.
This is not about disrespecting her "house rules"
It’s the way she fits them. I don’t like to be spoken to in a patronizing way! I have never experienced similar.
And more; In the prospect it says that it’s a B&B!
She doesn’t serve breakfast! It said it was included too. I got to borrow a place in the fridge, but don’t move anything there!
And the prospect also said that gel and shampoo was included,
I didn’t bring because the prospect said it was included.
The prospect also said there was air condition. Well it is, but only in the livingroom, not in the bedroom.
In the bedroom there is a fan, but she demanded me to wake up in the night to turn it off, because of electricity use.
She decided that it is not hot in the flat…
I must say as a customer that this stay gave the wrong impression compared to what i expected.
I checked other possibilities of accommodation after just two days and found a hotel in central Malaga which cost approximately the same.
But most of all I felt like a valued customer.
Thanks Trulls, now we can see the type of guest you are.
I have had guests of all ages, from 84 to 25, you just have to read all the wonderful references they wrote for the last year and a half.
It was very unfortunate to host Trulls, he's my first bad experience in over 60 good and well educated clients this year who left fantastic reports and great experiences.
My beautiful B&B Double room was a mess, garbage all over, bottles, rests of fruit and organic leftovers from his dinner, his clothes & shoes all over the place except in the closet, the bed was never made. He hanged his wet clothes on the wooden doors of the closet, which can bent and not close anymore.
I asked him to respect the house rules and he said "I am the client" to which I had to respond to him "I'm the owner not the cleaning lady".
I found him taking the food of my students breakfast from my fridge! That day I asked him to respect the basic rules or to leave. I had to call a man next door to be aware to defend me in case Trulls would become violent, because he is big and I was scared. I also called Airbnb to be aware all along the process to support me.
I do not recommend Trulls as a guest, unless you have a backpackers hostel. If you have apartment get ready for an extra cleaning session.
I guess the readers can see the type of potential client he is, from the comments that he makes of my home and of me. Be aware...
Monica was a really nice host and very flexible with our requests. I really enjoyed the lovely location with lots of bars and restaurants nearby. The room was a bit too warm (no air conditioning) and noisy for me (the double room is between the kitchen and the bathroom), but it is probably my personal reference.
Hi Istvan, thanks for your message. I'm happy you liked the location and appreciate my flexibility for your checkin after midnight and checkout at 5pm.
This is a house not a hotel, people have breakfast, shower and the house & kitchen have to be cleaned before 12pm, even if some guests are still in their bedroom. We respect with silence, but the house inevitable has some activity.
There is a big fan on top of the bed and the temperature now is only 22-24ªC.
As you say it might be your nordic blood that makes you sweat easily. Watch out in July and August in southern Spain as heat rises over 42ªC and it might be too much for you to be comfortable in south Andalusia.
Next time make sure of what you choose as a place to stay, so you are aware of what you will find. My listing description is in my profile, most clients read it and choose my home for added value. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Take care, All the best, Mónica

I've travelled all over the world into over 60 countries and I've been an exchange student and a host in four continents. I host foreign students and tourists and help them make their way around Malaga. I also advise on social, sports & entertaining activities to have a great experience, tailor made.
I speak perfect "castilian" spanish with no accent and talk in other 5 languages: Spanish/English, French, Portuguese and Italian.

I like biking in the mornings on the sea side walk and making my home cosy and comfortable. Is brand new renewed and decorated with best materials and design.
I love to have people around the house and like gardening, cooking, reading and taking long beach walks to see the sunsets. Also like concerts, arts and sports.
